News is that you've joined the cast of Maayka. True. I play a singer, Jeet. This guy is very subtle and doesn't mince his words. He does the right things at the right time, just the opposite of Betiyaan. Maayka has been in a pool of con- troversies of late. Were you apprehensive about doing it? I was in Shirdi when I got a call from the casting person. Though it was a last minute offer, I wasn't apprehensive at all. As an actor my job is to read the script and deliver, I don't want to do anything beyond that. Zee TV has proved to be lucky for you. Right? Yes. I'm fortunate to work with them. During the launch of Betiyaan, they had finalised someone else for my role. I had almost packed my bags for Kolkata. But they called me at the last minute.. and now it's the same story with Maayka. Are you satisfied with your track in Betiyaan? Absolutely! The show is going great guns and will complete a year soon. It's different from other similar shows on air. What else is in store for you? I did a cameo for Nitin Vora's film. He is also making a romantic movie and I will be playing the lead. I have made certain mis- takes in the past. Trust me, I don't want to repeat them at all. So, I intend to make the right moves at the right time. What's more on television? There have been offers from a few production houses late- ly. I will sign on something soon when my contract is up for renewal. Any offers from Balaji? I met Ektaa Kapoor when I was really low. Contrary to what I have heard, she is a warm person. She advised me on how to go about my career. I'm looking forward to work- ing with Balaji some day. And is love booming on the sets? (Laughs) You either do two dailies or have a love life. I pre- fer the former!

YUVIKA Since I backed out from Zoo Cinestars KiKhoj, I started getting of- fors for soaps. Then I went through the auditions two-three times for Astitva-Ek Prem Kahani. I got selected and soon after that I got offers for ad-commercials like Thums up, Ms Marino, etc. I am now busy with those commercials so no soaps. Moreover, I got a chance to work with Himesh Roshammiya in Wada Tonu. Recently, I per- formed for Adnan Sami's album Baarish KiBundoin. TWINKLE BAJPAl Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge was a million dollar experience for me, but Betiyan happened when Zee people asked me to try out acting. I gave auditions and got the lead role for Betiyan. I am still getting of- fers for soaps but I am inter- ested in music related pro- grammes and don't plan to do any more fictions. NEETA SHETTY I entered TV dra- mas with the serial Turn Bin laun Ka- han, which polished my acting skills, then a small role in Kabin To Hoga. Now I left the role of Gauri in Betiyan because I was not happy with my character I played. Also now I'll appear in another soap Mamta on Zee itself where Ill be intro- duced as Saniana, a 20-year old girl who has mind of a 10- year old. SIDDARTHA MAKKAR My role in Betiyan... had to end there so I left the serial. Now I am processing something new. I am shooting for an independent Amer- ican film, Offshore, waiting for it to be released. I auditioned for that film and I fit the role. Where Bollywood is concerned, I have acted in Kiss Kiss Ki Kismatopposite Mailika Sherawat. However, I am not comfortable with these movies, so I tried for an internation- al film.
