No good men in Mumbai, yaar: Arzoo

After working in the TV serial Ek Ladki Anjaani Si for some time, Arzoo Govitrikar took a six-month break from acting. And what was she up to during that time? "I learnt Kathak for four months and also worked out," says Arzoo, who got attracted to the glamour world of modelling and acting like her sister Aditi Govitrikar even though she was an electronics engineer by profession.

Though she essayed a negative character of Tulika, a rich wife of a richer husband who can stoop to any level to get her desires fulfiled, in the serial Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Arzoo is now seen in a positive avtaar in Sahara One's Ghar Ek Sapnaa. She plays Vanshika, the lady love of Sanmaan (Ujjwal Rana). "I enjoy playing vampish characters though my mother doesn't like me doing it," she says. "When you do a positive role, there's more of rona-dhona and the use of glycerine gives me a headache," she sighs.

Ask her what other projects are there in the pipeline and she replies excitedly, "I've finished shooting for Priyadarshan's next film Mere Baap Pehle Aap. I'm playing the lead actress Genelia's D'Souza's friend in the film. It is a light-hearted, funny film which revolves around Paresh Rawal, who plays a father who wants to get his daughter married. The film will release sometime in April-May," informs Arzoo.

And how was it working with Priyadarshan the director? "He's a very good director, very calm. There's no stress on the sets while working with him. He knows his job well," adds Arzoo who had earlier worked in a Malayalam film directed by Priyadarshan titled Kakakayuln, with Mohanlal and Suniel Shetty as her co-stars. She had also done a Telugu film Manasutho and played Amitabh Bachchan's daughter-in-law in Baghbaan besides a few not-so-good films.

Now that's all about her work. What's happening in her personal life, we ask curiously. "Nothing at all. I'm still looking out for Mr Right. But what to do? There are no good men in Mumbai, yaar," she signs off.
