"The main reason why I took up this show is because it is not a daily soap. I am already playing a typical bahu in Ghar so this will be a good change," says Sayantani.

About the show, Sayantani says, "It is about a girl whose parents are killed, when she is young. While dying her mother takes a promise from her that she will avenge her parents' death. However, when the girl grows up and is married, she realizes that the killers of her parents are from her in-laws' family. It is the story of the girl's dilemma – does she continue with her family duties or look to take revenge."

Is this show is similar to all the movies based on ichadhari Nagin? "Since, the subject is based ichadhari Nagin it has some similarities but it is not the same as the movie Nagin. It has a human touch as well and I am sure that common people can connect to the character I am portraying."

How did you prepare yourself for this role? "I have seen many films based on this subject after signing this show especially for eye expression because when you portray Nagin you have to express your feeling through your eyes. I observed Sridevi's behaviour in Nagina very closely."

On the look front she says, "I am supposed to look younger than my mother and aunty, who are also snakes. We will be wearing blue lenses; my make up will not be dark. All of us will be wearing amrapali costumes."

How scary was it shooting with snakes? "We are mostly using dummy snakes for the show. It was just recently that I shot with an actual snake. Though I did not have to touch them and they are poisonless, it was scary for me. May be after touching them my fear will go away. Sometimes it is quite difficult to shoot, however I love snake dances and in this show I will have many such dance sequence."

Sayantani has worked in Bengali films and Ghar Ek Sapna was her first show. Apart from her, Manav Gohil is playing naag in the show and Ali Hasan the sapera.
