Oooo.... I was waiting for an update of this story for such a long time.... Thank you so much. Okay now about the update

Phew... The starting part of maaneet was super hot and needed as well for them to progress in there relationship to move on together again. .... Haayee for birthday surprise like this even I would be happy to get a bit annoyed before... So happy that maaneet has again overcome the hurdles and came out together happy it's the most beautiful thing about their relationship and the other most beautiful thing is dadi.... The way she understand them both and supports is something not everyone has

Oh my..... Poor Araina wouldn't have ever imagined she had gone through this much...... Her character has always been a smiling one spreading love wherever she goes but behind that smile she suffered so much. It takes courage to open about something like this to someone else who understand you and comfort..... Really happy that Ranbir came so close to her that she can trust him and share her problem but on second thought, I am thinking of someone else who is close with Araina would have seen Arun and her reaction they would have also forced her to know who he was and why is she reacting that way, right? Just a thought. Also I think it's important to say it to her family at least now when that stalker is still following her then there is danger lurking around her

Will be waiting for next update

Chapter 127

Maan turned his head and watched as his wife joined him on the sofa. They spent the rest of the day with dadima and he had treated Geet to her favourite restaurant with a scrumptious dessert for afters which pleased her to no end. It was one of the best birthdays and a special moment for her. Dadima had excused herself when they’d returned home at 10pm from their dinner and Maan had changed settling on the sofa watching the news.

"Thank you for today" Geet slipped her arm around his and rested her head on his shoulder.

"What’s there to thank Geet, you’re my wife and you deserve it all" he whispered pressing a kiss to her temple. She smiled brightly cradling his cheek and leaned forward brushing her lips against for a brief second earning a grin from her husband.

She then settled comfortably against him, stretching her legs out on the sofa, her head resting on his shoulder and took the remote from him switching it to some romantic film that was playing.

A groan escaped Maan's lips as he leaned back rolling his eyes stretching his legs out and resting them on the coffee table.

"Geet, let's watch something else" Maan suggested getting bored of the predictable story.

"I'm enjoying this" she replied without sparing a simple glance towards her husband.

"I'm not" Maan informed.

"Don’t you have emails or something to go through?" she lifted her head looking at him.

"No, I…" Maan paused, "Actually I have found something now" he told her and stood scooping her up in his arms swiftly.

"Maan" Geet yelped clutching his shoulders.

"Geet" Maan warned, "Dadima has just gone to bed, she's tired".

"Put me down" she glowered tightening her arms around his neck.

"I will" he smiled as he headed towards their bedroom, he nudged their closed behind him with his foot and strode towards their bed.

Geet tightened her arms around her husband's neck as he slowly placed her down, her chest lurched and butterflies skittered in her stomach. Maan placed his knee on their bed leaning forward and switched on their night lamp. His eyes drew to his wife who simply laid on their bed unmoving, her eyes lowered and her cheeks flustered.

Geet bit down on her lip feeling him move close, she could feel the heat of his body hovering above hers, goosebumps covered her arms as she felt the soft graze of his fingertips across the side of her neck sliding up. Maan swallowed hard as he leaned forward brushing his nose against his wife's, his fingers following a familiar path, he watched Geet inhale as his fingers brushed against her slightly parted lips.

The sight of his naked wife from this morning came back, he clenched his jaw reigning in his desire to take his wife. This was going to be their… He paused cradling Geet's cheek and watched her silently. Geet frowned confused when Maan didn’t make another move, she opened her eyes and noticed her husband was staring down thoughtfully.

"Maan… what happened?" she questioned softly.

"I…I want to love you Geet but not until I know you're ready" he answered.

Geet smiled softly, the love for her husband increased a touch more. She knew if she responded that she wasn’t ready, he'd knock his desires back and just hold her in content.

She smiled lifting her head slightly pecking his nose, "I want to be loved" she answered.

Maan dropped his forehead on hers closing his eyes, "I love you".

"Always and forever" Geet murmured.

~~~~~~
Karan simply watched Amelia sleeping peacefully for the time being, she tired quickly and he'd suggested she sleep. She agreed, she was still hurting for the last couple of weeks and he knew it.
He was going to have to make up for the hurt he'd caused her during this difficult time of hers.
Karan didn’t know head to toe right now, he hadn't ever felt such helplessness. He looked at the woman he'd come to fall in love with over the last year and couldn’t bring himself to imagine a life without her.
"What are you doing?" Karan narrowed his eyes at Amelia as she dramatically wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his jaw.
"I'm just setting up the bimbo" Amelia grinned, "Puja told me how the girl fancies you and is wanting to be Mrs Khurana" she grated.
"And this is my office, Amelia" Karan tugged her hands down shooting glares at his employees who watched with interest. "I see that my money is being well spent, I obviously pay you all to stand around and watch me"
They looked away burying their faces into their computer screens and files. Karan scowled down at Amelia who looked mightily pleased. He turned to leave when he noticed Sonam still staring in their direction.
"That includes you, Sonam. Go do some work" he told her then strode off towards his office.
Karan frowned as Amelia followed behind closing the door behind her, "You made your point to Sonam, what are you doing now?"
"Well…" Amelia smiled cheekily as she walked towards him.
"I don’t have time for you" Karan sat down on his chair booting his laptop up.
"Well, make time" she twirled his chair slightly so he faced her and planted herself on his lap.
"Ames…" Karan narrowed his eyes.
"Khadoos" Amelia responded copying his tone, she leaned close kissing his jaw and nipped his earlobe teasingly. "Puja told me about you going away for another business trip".
"I'm going to fire Puja" Karan gritted. "Ames, don’t…" he swallowed as she caressed the side of his neck with her tongue. "I'm… trying to work"
"You can still work, I'm not doing anything" she murmured pushing his collar aside and pressed another kiss.
"Ames" Karan held her shoulder pushing her back a little.
Amelia smirked biting down on her lower lip seductively.
"You're a bitch" he scowled, she laughed as he stood with her in his arms and he turned pushing into his office bathroom. He kicked the door closed behind him, and planted Amelia onto the counter pushing up her dress. Within seconds, he had torn her underwear and she was quick to push down his pants encouraging him…
Karan smiled faintly to himself at the memory, she was full of colourful playfulness, he didn’t think he could see another side to his Amelia. He dropped his head down sighing heavily, what was life playing at testing them like this.
He jerked out of his thoughts as Amelia jolted up and ran towards the bathroom, he rushed behind her and found her throwing up violently, instinctively he gathered her hair.
Amelia squeezed her eyes exhaling sharply as she leant over the sink and washed her face, Karan was stood behind her still holding her hair. She straightened and looked at their reflection.
He released her hair and wrapped his arm around her from behind pressing his chin on her shoulder and nuzzling her skin.
How long will his affection last? She wondered, she was going to lose her long hair, the treatment was going to take away her energy, her face and skin would lose its elasticity, she'd look older than her actual age – those were certain side effects of her treatment.
Tears pooled and stung her eyes, she closed them tightly and they cascaded down her cheeks.
It didn’t go unnoticed by Karan, he turned her around to face him and enveloped her in his arms.
"I'm here, with you Ames" he murmured. "I won't be leaving your side at all" he promised.
~~~~~~

"What are you saying?" Samir looked at his wife in confusion.

"I'm not mistaken Sam, I know who I saw. She's the same woman"

"You must be mistaken, many elderly women look the same" Samir shook his head.

"I'm not mistaken" Taz scowled. "Why can't you just believe me once?"

"Fine, fine" Samir held his hands up in surrender, "I'll pop by to their apartment in the morning with excuse of borrowing some milk or something"

"You'll see I was right" she stated.

"Obviously, the great Tanisha cannot be mistaken" Samir muttered rolling his eyes.

"You're sleeping on the sofa" Taz scowled.

"I was just joking" Samir chuckled trying to lighten up.

"No, you weren’t, you're sleeping on the sofa" she countered and walked into their bedroom locking it behind her ensuring her husband wouldn’t be sneaking in.

"Damn you!" Samir called out.

"Yeah, back at you. Hope you enjoy the sofa" she sang out.

Why do I even bother arguing? Samir thought as he stared at the sofa pathetically, he was in for a very uncomfortable night.

A couple of doors down, Maan watched entranced as Geet reached the edge of her climax, her nails digging into her husband's back. Maan pressed his face into the hollow of her neck as he followed her breathing heavily. Geet released her tight hold from his skin and slipped her arms around his nape turning her head and pressed a kiss to his temple.

Maan lazily smiled lifting his head and pressed a gentle peck to her lips before he extracted himself and went to clean up. He returned with a damp wash cloth cleaning his wife, chucking the cloth in the wash basket, he returned to bed pulling his wife to his side and enveloping her.

Geet smiled giddily and closed her eyes feeling content, it wasn’t long until the both had dozed off holding one another. Maan had teasingly woken his wife up one time during the middle of the night and made love to her once more, only this time he'd taken her even more slowly pleasuring her in all the right places.

~~~~~~
Meera stared blankly at the screen where her husband was playing a cameo and dancing in the water with his actress 'friend' Jennifer. Her eyes drew to the article with regards to this close friendship of her husband's and his co-actress. She loved him, she believed him but the green jealous and insecure monster reared its head now and then.
Her insecurity had heightened slightly more now that she was expecting, her body was changing. Her stomach had a small bulge already, and it wouldn’t be long before she expands.
Would Vikrant be able to love her like he always has done? She shook her head, what was she thinking? She grabbed the remote switching off the tv and glanced around the empty mansion.
Vikrant was away for his shoot and with dadima gone, she was lonely. The day passed easily with her busy with her work but when she returned home, her evenings were long and silent.
Vikrant isn't due back for another couple of days, she sighed heavily pressing her palm against her stomach. "It's just you and me for now" she murmured.
"And me"
Meera looked over her shoulder looking confused at Vikrant, "How…" she stuttered in surprise.
"I worked over time to get back here" Vikrant responded walking around the sofa and settled besides Meera, "I'm neglecting my wife and our baby, I'm sorry".
Meera shook her head, she was just elated to have Vikrant return home to her. She couldn’t explain her happiness, she'd missed sleeping in his arms and missed how he'd pepper kisses all over her face and abdomen every morning as a way of greeting her and their baby good morning.
She threw her arms around him and hugged him, Vikrant smiled sadly as he tightened his arms around his wife. He burrowed his face into the crook of her neck knowing full well were he to stare at his wife for a moment, she'd read his eyes easily and know something was bothering him.
Chapter 128
"Good morning" Maan murmured brushing his lips against the side of Geet’s neck.
Geet smiled softly tilting her head back, she reached up curling her hand around his nape as he nuzzled her teasingly. She chuckled as he nipped her bare wet skin, Maan reached for the shampoo and poured some onto Geet’s hair and started massaging her head. He enjoyed the look on his wife’s face as she closed her eyes and smiled widely.
Geet turned around and returned the favour, after the shampoo was washed away from his hair, Maan curled his arm around Geet’s waist lifting her and pressing her back against the tiled shower wall.
"Should we go out for breakfast?" He mumbled peppering gentle kisses across her face.
"We’ll go to Costa" she suggested cupping his cheek and pressed her forehead against his. She hadn’t felt so relaxed and so in love with her husband in the last couple of months. She trained her eyes on him and stared thoughtfully.
"What?" Maan looked slightly confused.
She shook her head and enveloped him in her arms, she squeezed her eyes closed tightening her arms around him as she recalled their life together.
"I love you so much, Maan" she whispered.
Maan tightened his hold around his wife almost wanting to pull her even closer despite the fact there was no gap between them anymore.
-------------------------------------
Amelia climbed down the steps glancing around, she'd woken up to an empty room. Karan wasn’t there. She pushed down the twinge of hurt she'd felt when she realised he wasn’t here. It could be that he had to leave for work, she thought to herself. She couldn’t expect that he put her life on hold. She frowned in confusion hearing a faint noise coming from the kitchen and walked around to see Karan in her kitchen.
"Karan" she called out as she got closer.
He turned around and offered a small smile, "Hey".
"What are you doing?" she looked around.
Karan turned for a moment then turned to face her with a plate in his hand. "I made you breakfast" he told her seemingly trying to sound happy.
"You made an omelette for me?" she questioned in surprise.
"Yes" he smiled and walked around placing it on the table. "Come and sit down".
Amelia didn’t miss the sadness that lingered in his eyes, he was trying to sound upbeat.
"I could’ve done that" Amelia replied as she walked over.
"Well, I... I didn’t have much to do so I made breakfast" he answered.
"C’mon" he held out his hand for her.
"You’re tip toeing around me" she stated.
Karan sighed heavily, "I’m scared, I’m so f*cking scared, I don’t know what I can do. I’m helpless" he drops down onto the chair dejectedly holding his head.
Amelia felt her eyes well up and approached him, she pushed away his hands from his head and settled herself on his lap sliding her arms around his neck.
"I’m your crazy, remember?" she mumbled.
"What do I do Ames?" he whispered cradling her cheek.
"Just be with me" she answered hugging him tightly.
-------------------------------------
Dadima glanced over her shoulder hearing footsteps and smiled as Maan and Geet joined her in the kitchen.
"Good, you're both here. I was just going to make breakfast" she said switching the kettle on.
"Actually dadima, how about we all go out for breakfast?" Maan questioned.
"You're going to love Costa coffee, dadima" Geet nodded. "Their cappuccino coffee is apparently really really good" she added. "I love their hot chocolate the most though".
"Teek hai bete, as you both say" she agreed switching off the kettle. "I'll just get my shawl".
"Dadima, I'll get it for you" Geet told her and walked off towards the guest bedroom.
Just then, a knock came.
"Samir?" Maan looked confused seeing him so early with his wife.
"Hi Maan" Samir smiled, "Actually, we've run out of milk and Tanisha is crying since morning for her morning hot chocolate"
"I am not" Taz smacked his arm.
"Can I get a cup of milk before she chews off my arm?" Samir held out a cup.
"Okay, come in" Maan gestured them in and headed to the kitchen.
Samir and Taz shared a look between them as they both looked around. As their eyes fell to dadima as she walked out smiling at them, they both looked at each other.
"Taz, right?" Dadima approached them.
Taz smiled gently and nodded, "Uh this is my husband – Samir" she introduced.
"Geet doesn’t stop talking about you all" Dadima chuckled, "I'm Maan's dadima" she informed Samir.
"It was good to meet you" Samir responded.
"Here you go" Maan returned handing the cup of milk.
"Thanks, we better get going now" Samir informed, "I've got to get to work in a bit".
"Yeah, it was great to see you again" Taz added and they both walked out quickly.
As the door closed behind them, they both shared a look between each other.
"Adi and Sanjana cannot meet her" Taz mumbled to which her husband agreed.
-------------------------------------
"Ranbir, what are you doing here?" Araina frowned seeing him stood on the ground floor as she was finished for the day.
"Can't I pick my girlfriend up from work?" he questioned teasingly.
"Ranbir, I… I'm fine" Araina sighed. She had felt slightly unburdened once she had revealed her past to Ranbir, however the fear that her ex was out of jail was still heavily playing on her mind.
She had pondered quite a few times whether he would be so possessive and obsessive to follow her to India. She hoped he has forgotten her. She was getting rid of his memories, she had pushed them away and was moving forward but now… If he…
She brushed off her negative thoughts and looked at Ranbir.
Before she could say anything, he cut her off asking her to join him for dinner tonight.
"You're asking me out to dinner so you can distract my mind?" she answered.
"No, I just want to take my girlfriend out to a nice dinner" he replied.
"Mmhmm" she hummed in response, "Would you take me home first please? I want to get changed" she requested.
"Sure, come on" he held out his hand for her. She smiled lacing her fingers with his and followed him towards his car.
-------------------------------------
Meera climbed the steps and walked into her bedroom, her eyes drew to Vikrant who stood out on the balcony staring out ahead blankly.
He might not have realised; however, she had noticed his blank stares throughout the day. Something was bothering him since he had returned from his shoot. She wasn’t sure how to approach the subject, she pondered on how to ask him a couple of times but backed off assuming he was probably just stressing with his work schedule and trying to be home for her.
"Vikrant, do you want a coffee or anything?" she called out.
Lost in his thoughts, he had not heard his wife.
He jerked when he felt a hand on his shoulder, he glanced over his shoulder and frowned.
"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" Meera asked concerned. "Vikrant, what's wrong?" she questioned when he didn’t answer straight away.
Vikrant sighed straightening up and shook his head, "Nothing, I… I was thinking about how fat you're going to look in a couple of months time" he responded grinning cheekily.
"Vikrant! You're so mean" Meera smacked his arm.
He laughed snaking his arms around her waist and pulled her close, "Hey beautiful" he kissed her nose.
"Don’t talk to me, I'm angry" she turned her head away.
"You know Meers, I know how to melt that anger" he brushed his lips against her cheek, his fingers poked her sides making her laugh hysterically.
"Stop, stop" Meera smacked his hands, she straightened entwining her arms around his neck and looked up at him after he'd stopped tickling her and held onto her waist.
"If I ask you something, would you give me an honest answer?" she asked.
Vikrant's face had fallen, he swallowed hard and gathered himself together, "Have I ever lied before?"
"What's going on Vikrant?" she cradled his cheek looking concerned.
Vikrant couldn’t lie to Meera but then he couldn’t bring himself to tell her what happened whilst he was away for those two days. They both broke out of each other's hold when the phone rang.
"Hello" Vikrant answered.
"Vikrant, its me. How are you?"
"Bhai, we're good. How are you and bhabhi?" he sat down on the edge of the bed talking to Maan for a while. "How's dadima?"
………….
"Meera is good, we're missing you all. The mansion is empty without you all"
…………..
"Yes, dadima I could hear you. I'm taking care of your bahu" he chuckled and gestured over to Meera to come putting the phone on loudspeaker. She gathered herself together then joined him, they spent the next half an hour catching up with one another.
"You both obviously don’t miss us much though" Geet commented. "I barely get a call on my phone"
"Bhabhi, seriously? How could you say that?" Vikrant mockingly sounded upset.
"Yes, how could you Geet? You called me once?" Meera joined.
"Of course, you'd both get together and gang up on me" Geet pouted.
Dadima patted her cheek lovingly and took the phone. "Accha bete, how is everyone else? I could only speak to Anisha, that boy and Araina seemed to have immersed themselves into their work lives that they forget they still have a mother at home"
Both Meera and Vikrant shared a look, they knew Karan was spending most of his time with Amelia but none of them knew about Amelia.
"Uh… you know what Amelia's like dadima. She's probably wrapping Karan around her finger with all her craziness" Meera joked.
"Speaking of Amelia, Meers when you see her, tell her to give me a call. I've called her and sent her texts for the last couple of days but she's not answered" Geet spoke out.
"Oh okay, I'll tell her" Meera agreed.
"By the way, you both have the mansion to yourself you know…" Geet teased. Both Vikrant and Meera shared a look, they had so many things on their tongue that they wanted to say but it didn’t come.
"Seriously Geet?" Maan shook his head.
"I'm right haina Vikrant?" Geet laughed.
Vikrant looked away and smiled, "Yes, you three are like the haddis in my kebab" he joked.
"How's the night there?" Geet asked. "It's cold and started raining so we came home quickly after we had breakfast"
"It's a full moon tonight and there's loads of stars" Meera answered staring out the window.
"Speaking of stars, how is your show going?" Geet questioned.
"It's okay, bhabhi"
"Just okay? Since when has your show been okay? Where's the enthusiastic Vikrant who used to spoil the tracks for me?" Geet laughed.
"Like you said, it's night Geet. They probably want us to cut the call" Maan looked at his wife.
"No its…" Vikrant was cut off.
"We'll talk tomorrow, enjoy you love birds" Geet called out teasingly and cut the call.
Meera stood walking around and climbed into bed pulling the blanket over herself, Vikrant had not answered her question and as soon as the call was cut he had shifted uncomfortably and avoided look at her. She had her answer.
He wasn’t going to lie but he wasn’t going to tell her either. Vikrant sighed heavily and slipped under the blanket putting his phone away, his back to Meera.
"I hope your silence is worth this uncomfortable situation" Meera muttered.
Vikrant clenched his jaw squeezing his eyes closed.
-------------------------------------
Amelia shifted onto her side unable to sleep so easily and frowned when she noticed Karan focused on his phone. She swallowed thickly when she noticed he reading on the matters of treating breast cancer. She watched him silently for a while, it was almost 3 in the morning and he was reading. He had spent the day with her, there was no need for any extra words between one another. They had held onto each other and allowed the reality of their lives to sink in.
Both of their lives was about to change. Only, neither one of them knew whether it was for the worse or better. Would they come out stronger or would their relationship break under this new strain? Would they be able to overcome this test?
She turned onto her right side sliding her arms around Karan from behind and pressed her cheek against his shoulder. Karan placed the phone down and turned around facing her, pulling her closer into his arms.
"We're going to get through this" he informed softly pressing a kiss to her temple. "I'm not letting you go this time, not without a battle".
Amelia closed her eyes tightening her hold around him, "I don’t want you to let me go".
Chapter 129
"C’mon, you can’t be living here and not visit the Christmas markets" Sanjana rolled her eyes. "They have some of the best things selling around this time of year and there’s lot of sales" she added.
"Well, I don’t know" Geet contemplated over what she was saying for a moment, "I’ll think about it okay? Dadima is here so I don’t want to come out in the cold and don’t want to leave her alone" Geet explained.
"Once you get to the markets, you’ll forget the cold" Sanjana continued.
"I’ll speak to dadima and Maan" Geet responded, "I’ll call you later, Maan has returned from work" she stated and said her goodbye turning around smiling as her husband entered their apartment.
Maan arched his brows teasingly as Geet continued to stare at him, he looked around wondering where dadima. He got an answer without even having to ask the question.
"Dadima is taking a nap" she informed, "I don’t think her body agrees to this cold weather" she added.
"Give it another couple more days, and you’ll see how cold England gets" Maan informed shucking off his coat and hanging it up in the closet. "We’ll have to go shopping for winter clothes" he added walking into the kitchen where Geet was brewing a hot cup of coffee for himself and a hot chocolate for herself.
"How was your day?" Geet questioned as she handed him his cup.
"The usual" Maan shrugged, "How is your course?" he asked walking into their living area and sat down on the sofa.
"Its come to its end, I should receive my certificate soon. I’m just on the optional extra classes" Geet joined him with her hot chocolate.
"And job?"
"I’m helping at the moment in the cafe just so I’d get some experience" Geet replied.
"Didn’t you mention that your crazy friends are only letting you help clean and take orders for now?"
"I’ve got to start somewhere, once I get some experience, I’ll be able to apply for various jobs out there" Geet added.
"What about the dream we talked about?" Maan turned to face her placing his cup down, he took his hand into hers and squeezed gently.
"And I’m going to achieve that dream" Geet responded resting her head on his shoulder tightening her hold on his hand. "I want you to be my support, and encourage me. I want to achieve my dream, I want to hold the rein and pull myself forward" she told him. If it were up to Maan, he’d build the bricks to her dream and place her inside. She wanted to put down her own bricks and watch her dream come true just as Maan did when he built the Khurana empire by himself. No one could take the credit of the Khurana empire except her husband, he’d done it by himself with the support and encouragement from dadima.
"I’m right here for you" Maan told her offering a gentle smile, Geet pressed a kiss to his cheek feeling even more love for her husband.
She sighed cuddling up closer to him, they sat in silence drinking their hot drinks.
After a while, Geet broke the silence.
"It would have been our angel’s first Christmas in a couple of weeks" she murmured softly dipping her eyes down. In the silence, all she imagined was the sound of her daughter filling up the silence, however they were not blessed to even hear their daughter’s voice just the once. Maan turned his head seeing the pain that passed over Geet’s face.
"She’s here with us, Geet. Our daughter is here" he pointed to her heart, "she’s always within us".
Geet swallowed heavily, her nose twitching and her eyes filling up quickly unable to hold back.
Maan slipped his arms around her shoulder pulling her closer, "Shh" he murmured softly rubbing her back soothingly and pressing his lips to her temple.
"I understand that you’re both young but please remember I am staying for a couple of months" Dadima teased walking around and settled on the sofa opposite to them. She had not missed the sadness that had graced her grandchildren’s faces, instead of growing weak she gathered herself together and teased them both in the hopes of changing the current atmosphere.
It worked as Geet pulled away swiping her cheek whilst Maan rolled his eyes.
"How could I forget you’re here, dadima" he mumbled shaking his head. "You’ve ruined my plans on wanting to seduce my wife" he winked.
"Maan" Geet smacked his arm feeling embarrassed.
Dadima laughed in amusement, Maan chuckled and surprised Geet with a kiss to her flustered cheek.
"Maan" she rushed off the sofa and settled on the opposite one with dadima.
Dadima teased Geet successfully uplifting her granddaughter in law’s mood.
Maan excused himself leaving the two ladies to spend some time with whilst he caught up with some emails that had constantly flashed while he had been talking to his wife.
Meera paced her office back and forth as she worried over what Vikrant was hiding from her.
They loved one another, a lot; she couldn’t imagine what he was hiding from her.
She sighed heavily pinching the bridge of her nose, she felt as if she was burdened with heavy mountains on her shoulders and wanted to just slump down and relax.
"Meera, Yash sir is calling" Shraddha informed passing her office door.
"Okay, thanks" she muttered grabbing her file and walked towards her boss’s office. She pushed away all concerns of her married life to the back of her mind for now deciding to focus her whole attention to her work.
"You calling me?" she asked entering the office.
"Yes" Yash stood grinning widely. "I wanted to thank you for last week"
Meera chuckled, "Yash, it was absolutely nothing"
"Of course it was" he walked around the desk. "I cannot thank you enough and I’m going to love for all eternity" he took her hand and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand.
Meera chuckled shaking her head, "Stop, you’re embarrassing me" she blushed.
"I don’t know what I would’ve done had I..." he paused for moment smiling gently, "Thank you once again" he hugged her for a brief moment then pulled back looking down at her as she replied.
"It’s a girlfriends responsibility" she winked.
Yash laughed and frowned noting someone stood by the door, "May I help you?"
Meera glanced over her shoulder, her husband stood tensed with annoyance with his hands shoved into his pocket.
"If my wife is done flirting, may I borrow her for lunch?" Vikrant asked tightly.
Meera looked flustered giving Yash an apologetic look as he stared confused.
"I’ll be out in two minutes" Meera told Vikrant, he nodded curtly and walked off.
"I’m sorry for Vikrant being so..." Meera jumped in quickly to apologise.
"Don’t worry about it, Meera. If I had such a wife like you, I’d be just as annoyed" he brushed off her apology. "Go on lunch" he waved her off.
Vikrant frowned as Meera joined him outside of her office. Neither spoke as he opened the door of the car for her, after she climbed in he walked around and settled inside starting the car.
"What the hell was that?" Meera questioned bitterly once they’d driven for a while in silence. "Why did you have to embarrass me in front of my boss like that?" she glanced at him.
"Which boss hugs their employee like that?" Vikrant countered.
"You’re one to talk, which colleague hugs or acts intimately outside of working hours?" Meera sneered angrily.
"What?" Vikrant frowned. "What did you just say?" he pulled to the side of the road swiftly and turned his head to his wife.
"Which husband continues to be extra friendly to his co star?"
"Are you hearing yourself right now, Meers?"
"I’m not blind, Vikrant!" She snapped. "You’ve been hiding something from me, it doesn’t help me either whenever I see snaps of you all over the newspaper and news with Jennifer. Even off screen, I’ve seen those interviews".
"You know better than anyone that those interviews was to gain more fans and interest for our show, you know that side of my life is just a job, my friendship with Jennifer is platonic".
"It’s clear that it’s not platonic enough seeing as you’ve been hiding something since you returned from this last shoot of yours!"
"Don’t!" Vikrant countered sharply.
"Tell me what are you hiding from me, Vikrant"
"I don’t want to hurt you" he hung his head cradling it with his hand.
Meera inhaled sharply feeling her heart sinking within her, "did something happen between you two?" she whispered, her eyes pooled with hot tears.
————
Maan glanced over his shoulder feeling his wife’s arms curling around him from behind and her cheek pressed to his shoulder blade.
"Hi" he smiled twisting around and pulling her close. "Where’s Dadima?"
"She’s gone to rest for a while" Geet informed lazily brushing her fingers through her husband’s hair. "Sanjana invited us to join them all at the Christmas markets tomorrow".
"You can go with dadima if you’d like" Maan replied teasingly pulling at her thin strap of her tank top. "I don’t like those crazies".
"Why don’t you go out with Samir and Aditya then?" Geet suggested, "This way, the girls and I would do our shopping and you lot can bond" she smiled.
Maan stared down at his wife with false boredom earning a nudge from her.
"Maan..."
"Geet..." he responded with a sly smirk.
"Maan...no, dadima..." she giggled when he tightened his arms around her small waist brushing his lips against the side of her neck.
"She’s resting, probably asleep by now" he murmured.
"The doors unlocked" Geet responded teasing his earlobe with her teeth. "Let me just lock it" she eased herself away walking towards the door.
"Geet" Maan whisper shouted as she ran out of their room. He could hear her laughing in amusement, he was definitely going to get his wife back for duping him.
————
"Where have you been, Karan?" Anisha questioned her son as he finally walked into the house. She’d last seen him two days ago. "You’ve always at least informed me if you were going to be away" she reminded.
"Uh... I’m sorry mom" he sighed heavily, "I... I’m... I was..."
"Karan" Anisha looked at her son concerned, he seemed distressed and she didn’t think she’d had ever seen him like this. "What’s wrong?" she approached him cupping his cheek.
Karan blinked as if seemingly trying to register where he was, he closed his eyes trying to soak up the soothing warmth of his mother’s hand.
"Karan, what’s wrong?" Anisha asked again when he didn’t respond.
He opened his eyes, tears gathered and pain radiated in them. "Amelia’s got cancer".
His response shook Anisha.
———————
"Maan" Geet scowled.
"Yes, Geet" he replied walking around her and switching on the kettle.
She grated her teeth and continued to dice the onions as she was preparing dinner. She tried not to be distracted by her husband’s presence in the kitchen, only it was slightly difficult. He only had his dark jeans on hanging low on his waist. The rest of him bare, his chest slightly glistening, damp black strays of hair resting on his forehead, an obvious indicator of him freshly showered. The smell of his favorite cologne was another clue.
She figured his game of trying to tease her just as she had when he purposely brushed his arm across her breast as he opened the cupboard for the coffee. He could’ve easily stepped around and got it but no, he was trying to teach her a lesson.
Geet halted cutting her vegetables when she felt the soft breaths of her husband grazing her cheek, this time he was reaching for the sugar.
"Maan..." Geet inhaled sharply, "What are you doing?" she placed the knife down and turned around facing him, instantly regretting it.
Their chests were barely an inch away, he was so much closer than she had assumed and he was bare on the top half.
"I’m just making coffee" he answered innocently.
"Of course you are" Geet gathered her thoughts rolling her eyes at him.
"What do you think I’m doing?" he asked placing down the sugar on the counter then rested both palms on either side caging his wife.
"You know very well what you’re doing Mr Khurana" Geet hissed.
"You’re going to have to explain Mrs Khurana, or you could show me" he smiled.
"Maan" Geet pouted, " Please stop teasing me, dadima is just a couple of feet away sleeping and... it’s going to be embarrassing if she thinks that..."
"That we’re flirting" Maan winked.
"Maan" Geet smacked his chest.
"Fine" he chuckled seeing Geet’s cheeks getting all flustered and red. He’ll get his wife to make up once they’re locked away in their bedroom.
"Give me a kiss" he told her, he didn’t wait for a response instead he cradled her cheek and kissed her hard.
Maan pressed his forehead against Geet’s whispering "I love you".
—————————
"Mama" Aditya looked pleasantly surprised seeing his mother at the door. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
"Can’t I visit my favorite son?" his mother answered.
"Favorite money bag step son more like" Sanjana murmured to herself watching as Aditya’s step mother hugged him tightly.
"Hey, are you ready..." Taz paused by the door, her eyes widened as she noticed who was here. She glanced at Samir who’d looked as surprised as she did. They both shared a look and smiled uncomfortably when Aditya’s mother turned and addressed them.
"Tanisha, Samir" she grinned coming forward and enveloping them both.
After she’s greeted them both, she turned to Aditya, "Where’s my Sanjana?"
"Come inside mama, she’s just inside getting ready. She’s got a class soon" he gestured her in.
"Sanjana, look who’s here" Aditya called out.
Gathering herself together, she walked out facing her least liked person.
"Gayatri aunty" Sanjana greeted refusing to call or accept Aditya’s mother.
"Sanjana, pleasure to meet you as always" Gayatri smiled softly.
"Pleasure would be mine too, if you meant it" she muttered only loud enough for Gayatri to hear it earning a narrowed look.
Sanjana dismissed Gayatri quickly telling Taz that she was ready.
"I’ll pick you up and we could go out for some drinks to catch up?" Aditya suggested.
"I’ve got my adults class tonight, it’s going to exhausting" she replied. "Rain check?"
"Hmmm, okay. Text me when you’ve finished, I’ll pick you up" he told her. Sanjana nodded hurrying out the door followed by Taz and Samir.
"Dare devils here" Taz muttered as they stepped into the elevator.
"I hate her, I cannot see as to why my boyfriend had to be clueless when it comes to her. She’s going to ruin my Christmas!"
"I’ll kill that bitch before she ruins it for you" Taz wrapped her arm around Sanjana’s shoulder, "Aditya will see through her, one day".
"Only it’s not today" Samir added.
Sanjana shook her head sighing heavily, "Anyway, let’s forget the witch has arrived. Let’s walk through the gardens and pass the Christmas market on the way to the cafe" she suggested, Taz and Samir agreed easily as they knew it would cheer Sanjana up quickly.
Chapter 130
"No" Amelia deadpanned.
"Ames, I"
"No, no" she shook her head standing up and moving a couple of feet away.
Karan stood swallowing thickly, "Why?"
"My papa is due back from my bua’s soon so I’m going to stay at home" Amelia replied.
"You’re hiding it from your dad as well?"
"My bua isn’t well either, I don’t want dad stressing over me as well".
"Amelia, you’ve got breast cancer. You should have everyone around you supporting you at this time and I want to do that" Karan countered. "Mama wants you to stay with us".
"Karan, I don’t want anyone pitying me. It’s bad enough that you, Meera and Vikrant know, not to forget Puja as well".
"Please Ames, just until you recover"
"No"
"When are you telling your dad?"
"I don’t know yet, bua still isn’t well. He’s coming back for a couple days to see me then he’s gotta head back to hers" she answered honestly.
"Basically, you’re not telling him then?"
Amelia looked away sighing heavily, she pressed a hand to forehead feeling a headache coming on and sat down on the chair.
"Amelia" Karan crouched down in front of her placing his hands on her knees. "I want to be there but I also want someone with you if it happens that I’m not there".
"Karan, please understand that I..."
"Marry me" he blurted stunning her.
——————
"Oh, wow" Geet looked around the Christmas markets.
"You think that's beautiful, just wait until you go to each stall" Taz chuckled and tugged her alongside her. The ladies had separated from their better halves to look around in peace knowing all they'd hear from their partners would be moaning and groaning.
Maan had no choice but to stay behind with Samir and Aditya as his wife was dragged away. Samir suggested a coffee in the local café around the corner which they'd agreed to.
"How's business going?" Samir questioned as the waitress brought over their hot drinks.
"It's good, different than my Delhi office" he replied.
"Are you here visiting or on a business trip?" Aditya asked curiously.
Maan picked his cup and took a sip of his coffee allowing himself some time wondering what he should reply to that question, "Geet and I wanted a break, so we'd come here" he answered.
"Is it a permanent move or just for a couple of months?" Samir quizzed.
"We're not looking to go back for now, we'll just see" he replied. "So, Aditya you never mentioned what work you do?"
"My dad and I own KGK Fashion" Aditya responded.
"The clothing line?" Maan inquired.
"Yeah, the clothing line"
"I thought that was owned by a couple" Maan quizzed.
"That's my father and my step mother, they work on the front line. I prefer being behind the front line, I work as the photographer for the magazine" Aditya explained.
"It's not as exciting as he makes it sound" Samir chuckled. "I've hung around and man, its f*cking boring".
"It's these women who take eons to get changed" Aditya rolled his eyes.
"Where's your mom today? I would’ve thought she'd be with you" Samir questioned. "It's been nearly two weeks, that's she's been here. Is she staying for Christmas?"
"She and Kiara have gone out shopping, I'm not sure when she's planning to go home – I'm guessing dad and her had a falling out" Aditya answered then looked at Maan. "Kiara's my half-sister" he informed. "And my parents always make up after their usual tiffs" he joked.
Maan nodded then looked around the café they were sat. It was buzzing with activity, young families, college kids, elderly have filled each table spending time with their families.
Maan pulled out his phone sending a text to his wife.
Enjoying yourself?
He waited for a response however didn’t get one straightaway and wondered what had engrossed his wife that she didn’t respond.
"Maan isn't going to like this" Geet looked between Sanjana and Taz.
"Look, he won't say anything. We'll be there for you" Sanjana assured.
"What if he doesn’t let me keep it?" she questioned as they stepped into the elevators.
"We'll see to him" Taz informed.
"You made me do this because your husbands won't let you do it, didn’t you?" Geet frowned looking between her friends.
"Aditya is going to kill me" Sanjana responded.
"Samir is allergic" Taz added. "We'll get to enjoy through you".
"Plus, we're letting you work at our work place" Sanjana reminded.
Geet huffed rolling her eyes, they stepped out of the elevator and walked towards her apartment. Taz suddenly recalled that Geet's dadima was here, Sanjana couldn’t know that the woman was here so she looked at her friend.
"Sanjana, you go down and keep an eye out. These lot will return any time"
"Why? Why can't you go?"
"Blue balls, just go!" Taz hissed.
"Are you on your periods or something Topaz?" Sanjana huffed.
"Just go, will you?" Taz pointed.
"Alright, keep your hair on" she grated and turned walking away.
"You should've let her stay, Maan is going to find out anyway" Geet murmured as she unlocked her door. "Dadima is resting" she informed as she walked into her apartment softly and walked towards her bedroom.
"Your bedroom is nice" Taz commented as she followed behind. "Are these your wedding pictures?" she picked up a frame from the night stand.
Geet placed the basket down on her bed and sat besides Taz, "That's our first anniversary picture" she smiled taking the frame. "This is our family" she brushed her fingers across her friends faces.
"You've got a large family" Taz commented as she stood up and looked at the other frames.
"This is just our close family, Maan has so many other relatives. Despite being married 3 years, I still don't know half of them" Geet chuckled.
"Anyway, let's head back downstairs" she suggested.
"Are you sure, this will be fine here?" Geet pointed to the basket.
"Yes, I'm fine. They're great for working couples" she responded and walked out of the bedroom with Geet closing the door behind them.
——————
"Don't" Amelia stood up and stepped away. "Not like this" she shook her head.
"Ames" Karan looked at her dejectedly.
Amelia turned around, "I want to be marrying you out of love not pity, not during this. Not like this" she replied.
Karan sighed heavily, stepping forward he cradled her cheeks. "Then, move in with me. Let me look after you, its either that or I move in here" he stated firmly.
Amelia dropped her forehead on his chest sliding her arms around his middle, she didn’t want her family to see her like this. She couldn’t bear to see her father being hurt especially as his only sister probably has any time left, she couldn’t give him another shock and make him feel like he's losing his daughter as well.
"I'll move in with you" she murmured softly, "I'm going to tell my Papa that I'm going to stay with some friends until he returns for good so he doesn’t have to worry".
"He deserves to know, Amelia. He's going to regret not being there if you don’t tell him, he… he might blame himself" Karan explained.
"Not now, not now" Amelia shook her head. "I'm not letting my papa see me like this".
"Let me know when you're ready, I'll be with you" he rubbed her back soothingly. "I love you, Ames" he whispered.
Amelia swallowed thickly, she hadn't said those words in the last couple of months.
"I love you too, Sadu".
Karan smiled widely hearing her nickname for him and hugged her tightly.
——————
"There, they are" Samir pointed to their ladies hanging around the paella van.
"Hey, you want some?" Sanjana spooned some paella and offered it to Aditya.
"No thanks, I'll grab myself a Goulash" he answered and went to wait in the queue.
"Get me a vegetarian one" Samir told him opening his mouth as Taz offered him a spoonful of paella. He looked at Geet, then asked "Aren't you having any Geet?"
"I don’t like Spanish food" Geet scrunched her nose.
"There's a indian food van just down there" he pointed. "There's Bangladeshi van over there and there's a Chinese one on that side" he added.
"I'll stick to indian" Geet answered and looked at Maan, who'd smiled.
"We'll catch you guys later" Maan told them and led his wife away.
After they'd gotten some hot pakoras and samosas, they'd sat on the bench eating together.
"So, what were you doing that you missed my message?" Maan questioned.
"You sent a message? When?" Geet inquired.
"Where's your phone?" Maan asked.
Geet dug through her handbag and pulled her phone out, she smiled sheepishly as she read the message by Maan. "Sorry, I was busy with shopping and those two".
"Bought anything nice?" he questioned seemingly interested.
Geet bit down on her lower lip, if only Maan came to know what she had gotten…"Nothing caught my interest" she mumbled.
Maan arched his brows inquisitively, "What are you hiding from me, Geet Khurana?"
"Promise you're not going to shout at me" Geet replied.
"Geet" Maan narrowed his eyes, "What did you do?"
"WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT?"
Geet winced as Maan scowled at the basket then turned around facing her.
"Maan, you promised not to shout" Geet reminded pointing her finger at him.
"Get rid of it" he told her.
"Maan, its cold and it's December" she pouted.
"No, that’s not going to work with me" Maan shook his head.
Geet puffed her lips out dipping her eyes down.
"Seriously, Geet? I bet it was those two crazies who told you" he muttered.
"It was so cute and… I couldn’t resist" she mumbled.
"No, no it's going" Maan shook his head as he strode over lifting the basket.
"Maan, please"
"I love you Geet, I love you a lot but there is only so much I can handle. This thing" he pointed to the basket, "I can't" he walked past her.
"Dadima" Geet called out knowing dadima was in the living room. "Look, what Maan is doing" she pointed.
"Maan, what's going on?" Dadima stood and followed her grandson and Geet as they strode towards the door.
"I'm returning it back to the shop" Maan told Geet over his shoulder.
"That's not fair, Maan" Geet scowled running forward and blocked the front door. "You're not taking it back" she shook her head.
"Geet, it's not staying" he replied.
"You're being mean" Geet pouted her lips.
"I'm being mean?" Maan rolled his eyes, "Geet, move away from the door or I'm throwing the basket out the balcony" he warned.
Geet huffed and opened the door, however she continued to follow Maan as he walked down the hallway and towards the elevator.
"Maan bete, why don’t you let her keep it?" dadima suggested.
"Because I don’t like them and they're messy" Maan responded. "And its not Geet who wants them, its her friends. Why don’t they keep it?"
"Because Aditya is going to kill Sanjana and Samir is allergic" Geet answered.
"I hate them so that’s my excuse of not keeping it" Maan replied.
"You should've come shopping with us, Sanjana" Kiara told her as they rode the elevator up.
"Well, I had plans with some friends already" Sanjana replied.
Gayatri rolled her eyes inwardly and looked at Aditya, "You're coming down for Christmas dinner aren’t you?"
"Actually, I promised Sanjana's family that I'd spend it with them this year" Aditya responded. "Plus, we spent it last year with you. We'll come for Christmas eve" he added.
"Why don’t you both spend it together?" Kiara suggested. "Bhai, you can invite them up here, your apartment is large enough to hold 4-5 families and it's only Sanjana's family and us"
"Yeah, we could do that. I'll think about it" he answered.
"Where's Tanisha and Samir?" Gayatri asked.
"She's been called into the café, Samir went with her" Sanjana responded.
"That’s nice" she nodded. "They're both suitable for each other, they're in each other's league" she added.
Sanjana scowled realising what she was hinting at, she turned her head narrowing her eyes. "Gayatri aunty, what are you trying to say? Why don’t you say it clearly?"
"If I have to spell it out, then I definitely know that my son didn’t make the right choice"
"Mama" Aditya rolled his eyes looking between Sanjana and Gayatri.
"Aditya, you know I'm joking. Sanjana doesn’t like it if I praise her friends more" Gayatri rolled her eyes.
Sanjana clenched her jaw wanting to unleash her anger however Aditya slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "She's joking around" he commented.
Of course, the bitch is she thought.
"If you take it away, then you're not allowed to come back inside" Geet threatened.
"Okay" he shrugged nonchalantly.
"Dadima, tell him na" Geet moaned.
"Maan bete…"
"Please dadima, don’t side with her on this. I don’t like kittens"
"How would you know if you don’t spend time with her? You might come to like…"
"No, I won't".
"It's funny, you didn’t like me at first either" Geet scowled.
"I had no choice" Maan answered.
"Maan" Geet snapped, "Dadima, did you hear that?"
"Maan bete…" Dadima laughed seeing them both arguing. "Let's go inside and talk about it.."
"No" Maan shook his head. "We're not keeping this kitten, it's a messy disgusting creature".
The doors to the elevator opened, Maan turned away from his wife to step inside.
He halted, his eyes fell onto the woman whom he had pushed to the back of his mind in the hopes of forgetting. His fingers loosened around the basket handle.
Dadima's eyes drew to the woman inside who'd stared back in surprise as she looked between Dadima and Maan.
"Oh, hey Maan" Aditya greeted, his eyes drew to the elderly woman. "You're… Savitri"
Maan stepped back and walked back to their apartment, Geet looked confused.
Dadima didn’t answer, she turned and walked away.
"Dadima…" Geet called and glanced back at the others wondering what suddenly happened.
"Dadima?" Aditya questioned. "That woman is your dadima?"
"How do you know dadima's name?" Geet questioned.
There were so many questions here, Geet wondered as to why Maan and dadima walked away. How does Aditya know dadima's name because she had not yet introduced dadima to them? She had only introduced Taz and Samir to her dadima.
"Aditya, let's go inside" Sanjana suggested as she stepped off the elevator.
"Geet, why don’t you go and see to Maan? I'll call you soon" Sanjana told her.
Geet nodded and returned to the apartment. She glanced down and noticed that Maan had placed the basket down on the coffee table, dadima sat on the sofa looking lost in her thoughts and Maan wasn’t around.
"Dadima, what's going on?" Geet questioned as she approached her gently.
Dadima was too shell shocked to answer, she hadn't ever thought that they'd come across the evil woman after all these years.
"Dadima…" Geet touched her shoulder nudging for a response.
"Maan…" Dadima simply pointed towards the bedroom.
Geet glanced over her shoulder and looked at dadima concerned, she turned around and walked towards the bedroom.
Maan was sat on their bed holding his head dejectedly. Geet walked over gently, sitting besides him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Maan, kya hua?" she asked softly in concern. "Maan" she moved a hand away cupping his cheek, and noticed that her husband had tears in his eyes. "Maan…" she whispered.
Maan closed his eyes turning his head away, memories came flooding his mind. The feeling of defeat rolling over him as he thought about the life he'd led, the memories that Gayatri ruined for him. He clenched his jaw swallowing thickly as he recalled the hurt she'd given his dadima, given his young brother.
"Maan" Geet cupped his cheek making him turn his head towards her. "What happened so suddenly?" she asked.
Maan stood brushing a hand through his hair, "I need some space" he murmured and walked out of their bedroom.
"Maan" Geet called out after him, she watched as he grabbed his keys and walked out of their apartment.
"Dadima…" she looked over at her in worry.
Dadima sighed heavily, "She's come back…" she sobbed.
"Kaun dadima?" Geet joined her on the sofa. "Dadima, Maan isn't speaking to me".
"Gayatri, the woman in the lift is Gayatri" Dadima answered.
Understanding dawned on Geet, she glanced over at the door where her husband had walked through in concern and wondered where he had gone.
Oh wow! So many updates. Thank you so much! Makes the wait all the more worthwhile.
Geet and Maan's relationship is as beautiful as it could be now after all the ups and downs they have had. It just shows that if the love is strong enough, then it's possible to deal with all the storms in your life.
It's also lovely that Karen and Amelia have finally declared their love for one another.
So maan's mother is back? Poor Maan. She was the cause of all the hatred and negativity that Maan had in him. Let's see how Geet helps him to overcome this hurdle in their life's too.
Thank you again. Great work.
