My Dear GF friends,

Hi!

Although I was never a writer reminding or insisting for “likes” and “comments”. However, I’ve realised as INDIA FORUM is a primarily written forum, hence, “likes” and “comments” are the only way for us writers to know if our readers like/dislike the story. When I was a new writer I was getting about 50 likes which reached to 100 likes in span of few days with at least 3-4 pages of comments; then it become 30 likes which reached to 50 likes in span of few days with at least 3pages of comments; and now its mere 10-15 likes which sometimes reaches to 20-24 likes in span of few days and sometimes not. Also there is only half - 1page of comments from my regular readers. I agree everyone is not very comfortable with expressing their thoughts in words, hence I can still accept less comments but “like” is just pressing of a button. If I update triple updates many of the readers only like one of the three updates. Do you think its fair to me / any writer who has spent effort writing all the three updates for only one update to be acknowledged? Anyway everyone has freedom of expression and thought, but unfortunately I can’t continue with this disappointment and frustration. As its not fair to my regular readers to just quit therefore, I’ll conclude “Paheli” and finish re-posting “Ek Rajkumari ki Vidambana.” But I’m not going to start “Meri Mishty Kaun?”. Maybe I’ll start posting only on my blog as I love writing.

Thank you,

LM

I'm sorry I am one of those naughty readers. I am fairly new to India forums & I wasn't a member so I did not know how to comment. Than I became a member and sometimes would be intimidated by all the great writing and did not think my comments would be adequate or well written. Lastly sometimes I find a story that was started long before then I start reading & I cannot stop, I become addicted & only comment in spurts. I am sorry, I do realize how much hard work it takes to write these stories & I appreciate yourself & all the other great writers for giving us readers something to look forward to in our hectic, busy & stressful lives. I am still late in reading some updates due to shortage of time but I am trying to comment more & whenever possible. Thank you for all your hard work!! It is appreciated! !! 🙂

hey...

its sad when a writer has to go through this...

A reader should appreciate the writer this can encourage them to write more...

What i have been noticing that due to the new forum there are few writers who are shifting on blogs and we dont get to see a lot of stories on the forum...In the past there were so many stories.

CHAPTER 1

ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any MEDICAL PROCEDURES, MEDICAL TERMS, RELIGIOUS TERMS, Punjabi terms, architectural terms, IT terms & programs, hospital/office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE.

ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS DOWNLOADED DO NOT BELONG TO ME BUT BELONG TO THE ORIGINAL UPLOADER. I HAVE JUST USED THEM AS THEY GO WITH MY STORY!

Location: ROYAL NEW YORK HOSPITAL (RNYH) at 08:00a.m. (FICTITIOUS NAME)

Image

There was a major hustle and bustle going on in the hospital since morning. It was not due to any emergency or a VIP patient but due to arrival of the new Head of Cardiology Department, Dr. Maan Singh Khurana. Although he was much younger than any other head of the department (HODs) but his academic calibre and diagonosis of the medical cases was as accurate and precise (if not more than) as any veteran HOD! Besides his academic calibre his masculine looks and vibes were said to make women go weak at their knees whether they were 16 or 60!!

“Anjali, aren’t you going for the Hospital’s coffee morning to meet Dr. Maan Singh Khurana? I believe he is also an Indian like you. Besides, he has looks to die for!” A brunette cute looking female doctor said.

“No Dr. Brown. As neither am I any Head of the Department; nor am I in Cardiology department, I’m not required to meet him. Excuse me I’m being paged. A beautiful young woman in her late twenties said in an icy voice looking at her pager.

“Why do you even talk with that ice maiden, doctor? She is extremely arrogant of her beauty, her qualifications and hierachial position.” Nurse Angela said passing by.

Before Dr. Stephanie Brown could contradict Nurse Angela, there was an announcement on the overhead loudspeaker, “Paging Dr. Brown to the Pediatric Ward.”

To the outer world she seemed calm, composed, reserved and an ice maiden. But in reality she was trying very hard to fight the black hole left in her life by passing away of her dearest possession, her Geet didi. People say time heals all wounds but eight (8) years’ lapse has still not healed her wounds. She prays to God every day that he should have called her (Kavyanjali) to him instead of her parents and her Geet didi. Now that man, Dr. Maan Singh Khurana whom her Geet didi loved more than her own life is coming here as Head of Cardiology Department. That man who within a year of Geet didi and his seperation has forgotten her Geet didi and is enjoying his life as if nothing has happened with a new woman on his arm every evening.

Anjali is extremely thankful to God that her area of specialisation is not Cardiology, hence, she doesn’t have to meet that insensitive, callous and arrogant, Dr. Maan Singh Khurana.

Maan entered the hospital surrounded by Hospital Administration and nursing staff. Despite of him being in a large crowd, he suddenly felt at peace. The peace whose hope he had left 10yrs. back of ever finding. He felt as if he is going to find his life, his love and his………. Maan didn’t realise when they reached Medical Director’s cabin and he was shaking hands with Dr. Richardson. “Dr. Khurana, welcome to Royal New York Hospital.” Rest of the enterouge left as this 30mins meeting was extremely private just between Dr. Richardson and Maan. Dr. Maan Singh Khurana was just coming out of Medical Director’s cabin when a warm and soft female body bumped into him.

Image

As a reflex Maan’s arms came around the female body to steady it and both Maan and the young woman coiled back with sudden electric impact. The young woman looked up to apologise but as she looked up her almond shaped hazel eyes met his warm brown eyes and both were lost. Only one word was whispered from Maan’s mouth, “Mishty?” The young woman recovered first hearing Dr. Richardson’s question, “Are you alright Dr. Mishra?”

Image

Realising where she was, Kavyanjali at once straightened and said in a frigid tone, “Yes Sir. I apologise Sir.” Anjali was about to leave when Dr. Richardson introduced, “Dr. Mishra, this our new Head of Cardiology Department, Dr. Maan Singh Khurana. He will be taking Dr. Johnson’s place.”

Maan was too stunned to react and speak hence mechanically extended his hand. Seeing Maan’s out stretched hand as well as gathered crowd of doctors, matrons, administrators and nurses and so as to not embarass herself, she folded her hands in “Namaste” and said, “Royal New York Hospital mein aapka swagat hai Dr. Khurana!” (Welcome to Royal New York Hospital, Dr. Khurana!)

Image

Shocking all American doctors but American doctors of Indian origin gave a pleasant smile. Anjali’s pager buzzed and looking at Dr. Richardson she said, “Excuse me Sir, I’m being paged.” Dr. Richardson nodded in approval and Anjali left.

Maan has seldom recollection of what happened next. Rest of the day passed in a incoherent buzz with people welcoming Maan and his going for rounds as well as going through his patients’ case history. Maan was unable to get any information about “His Mishty” except that she is a Hospitalist or recently has become Junior Attending Physician in RHONY. Women in the hospital staff called her “snooty ice maiden” and men in the hospital staff called her “beautiful ice statue” who can only be looked at but not touched. Senior doctors and surgeons said “Anjali is an excellent doctor with promising career”. Extremely professional and patients’ adore her. Maan was very keen to meet Mishty or Dr. Mishra as he wanted answer to his questions as well as know the reason for her disappearance leaving him, her…………

“Dr. Khurana we have an emergency. Its an obese pregnant woman and she is exhibiting symptoms of heart attack as well as she is in labour.”

“Arrange OT (Operation Theatre), suit up and call a doctor from Gynaecology and Obstretics department.” The nurse was hesitating. “What is the matter nurse speak up, girl.” Maan thundered scaring the love smitten Nurse Angela.

“Doctor, the…head of Gynaecology and Obstretics……is on leave and is non contactable.

“What about her assistant?”

“She is on sick leave.”

“Then call someone from Gynaecology and Obstretics dammit.”

“Yes d…d…doctor……a…at……once………” Nurse Angela hurried away before Maan could loose his temper anymore. But by Maan’s anger Nurse Angela’s brain started working which was frozen seeing Maan’s handsome looks!
