“NEELAKSHI AUR GEETANJALI DO ALAG LADKIYAAN HAIN.” (NEELAKSHI AND GEETANJALI ARE TWO SEPERATE INDIVIDUALS.)

“Toh iska mujhe saboot dijiye aur mai chala jaaonga.” (Fine then give me a proof of that and I will leave.)

“KAISA SABOOT?” (What kind of proof?)

“KI NEELAKSHI “MERI MISHTY” NAHI HAI.” (THAT NEELAKSHI IS NOT “MY MISHTY”.) Now Maan said with confidence and attitude surprising Maharaj Vasudev.

“Hum tumse kitni baar kahein ki Rajkumari Geetanjali abb iss duniya mein nahi hai.” (How many times I’ve told you that Princess Geetanjali is no longer in this world.)

“Maharaj Vasudev, mai jaanta hoon ki aap mujhe bilkul bhi pasand nahi karte. Magar aap pehle pitah honge jo apni jeeti-jaagti beti ko marra hua ghoshit kar rahe hain.” (Maharaj Vasudev, I know you never liked me neither five years back nor now. But you must be the only father who wants to declare his hale, hearty and alive daughter as dead.) Maan said with confidence and attitude sitting on the sofa in the room.

“KHABARDAAR JO TUMNE HUM PAR BINA SABOOTON KE ILZAAM LAGAYA. Haan hum aapko nahi pasand karte the aur naa hi pasand karte hain. Jo pati apni patni ko itni maansik peeda deta hai ki woh....... Aapne bhalhe hi Geetanjali ko uss pahadi se dhakka nahi diya ho magar aap hi mukhiye kaaran hain unka nadi mein koodh kar apne pran tyaagne ka bina apni santaan ki parvaah kare. (Maan stiffened at direct attack on him) Aur hum aapko iske liye kadaapi kshama nahi karenge.” (Don’t you dare throw accusations on me without having any proofs. Yes I’ve NEVER liked you neither in the past nor in present. A husband who mentally tortures his wife so much that she is forced to....You may not have physically pushed Geetanjali off that cliff but you were the prime reason for her jumping into the river without even once thinking about herself or her unborn child. (Maan stiffened at direct attack on him) And I’ll never forgive you for this.)

“Magar phir bhi Geetanjali meri patni hai. Mujhe poora “haq” hai uske baare mein jaan ne kaa.” (But still I have full rights to know about her whereabouts of Geetanjali as she is still “my wife”.) Maan said in a freezing tone.

“Geetanjali abb tumhari patni nahi hai kyunki uski mrityu se pehle hi aap dono ka “talaq” ho gaya thaa. Aur abb Geetanjali ko swarg siddhare bhi paanch saal ho gaye hain.” (Geetanjali is no longer your wife as she had divorced you before her death. And now five years have elapsed since her death.) Maharaj Vasudev said firmly and confidently.

“Geet aur maine divorce papers zaroor sign kiye the aur woh court mein daakhil bhi huye the, magar kyunki Geet aur main court hearing mein present nahi the iss liye divorce proceedings khaarij ho gayeen theen. ISS LIYE GEETANJALI ABHI BHI MERI PATNI HAI. Aur woh zindah hai “Neelakshi” ke roop mein. Aur abb “Neelakshi” hi meri patni, “Mrs. Geetanjali Maan Singh Khurana” hai jo nadi mein girne ke kaaran mere se bichad gayee thi.” (Although Geet and I had signed the divorce papers as well as registered them in the court but as neither Geet nor I was present the Judge considered the divorce proceedings null and void. Hence, GEETANJALI IS STILL LEGALLY MY WIFE. And also Geetanjali is alive but now she is called “Neelakshi”. Hence now “Neelakshi” is my wife, “Mrs. Geetanjali Maan Singh Khurana” who was seperated from me by falling into the river five years back.)

“Yadhi woh aapki patni hoti Srimaan Maan Singh Khurana, toh woh aapko pehchaani kyun nahi?” (If she was our wife Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, then why didn’t she recognise you?) Maharaj Vasudev said confidently but lowered his tone of voice.

“Ho sakta hai ki uski paanch saal pehle ki tehre phirse yaadashth chali gayi ho.......” (Maybe something similar happened to her like what happened five years back i.e. Geetanjali lost her memory and........)

“Yaa aap sapno mein jee rahen hone.” (Maybe you are still daydreaming.) Maharaj Vasudev smirked.

“Theek hai aap matt battaiye, mai kal vakil aur court ke order ke saath yahaan aaonga tab aapko sach battana hi padega.” (Fine don’t tell me the truth, I’ll come tomorrow with a lawyer and court’s order and then you will have to tell me the truth.) Maan said with over confidence getting up to leave.

“THEHRIYE!” (WAIT!) Maharaj Vasudev thundered stopping Maan from leaving. “Geetanjali aur Neelakshi judwaa beihane (twin sisters) theen. Jab vivaah ke chaar varsh pashchat Satya aur hum wapis Rajgarh jaa rahe the hummein kuch anhoni hone ka andesha ho raha thaa magar saath hi saath hum Rajgarh ke niwaasiyon se humara uttaradhikari ko bhi milana chah rahe the. Iss liye hum Geetanjali ko apne saath Rajgarh le gaye aur Neelakshi ko yahaan apne priye mitr Dr. Shashank Gupta ke paas chodh gaye. Aur Rajgarh se jab hum laute tab tak Satya ki mrityu ho gayi thi aur humari yaadashth chali gayi thi. Iss liye Rana Digvijay Singh Chauhan aur unki patni ne Geetanjali ko godh liya aur usse Mumbai mein paala-posa jab tak woh nau saal ki theen. Yahaan US mein, Dr. Shashank Gupta aur unki patni ne Neelakshi ko paala-posa. Abb aap santushth hain?” (Geetanjali and Neelakshi were twin sisters. When my wife and I decided to return to Rajgarh after four years of our marriage, we both were fearful of our daughter’s life. But at the sametime I wanted people of Rajgarh to see my successor, their new ruler. Hence, we took Geetanjali with us and left Neelakshi behind with my friend Dr. Shashank Gupta and his wife. But when I finally returned from Rajgarh to US, my Satya was dead and I was suffering from amenesia. Hence Rana Digvijay Singh Chauhan and his wife adopted Geetanjali and brought her up in Mumbai until she was 9 years old. Whereas here in US, my dear friend Dr. Shashank Gupta and his wife brought up Neelakshi. Now are you satisfied?)

“Poori tehre se nahi.” (Not completely.)

“Khair humne aapki jigysa poorn ki abb aap jo samajhna chahen aap samajhein. Kintu yadi aap phirse bina humari anumati ke yahaan aaye toh “hum” Police bulayenge.” (Anyway, I have satisfied your curiosity, now its your wish whether to believe it or not. But if you again barged in here without my permission, I call the Police and get you arrested.)

Maan gave a smirk and casually stauntered out of the room. Leaving a furious Maharaj and stunned Neelakshi hiding near the door of her father’s study.

TWO HOURS LATER

Ranvijay and Bhuramal came to meet Maharaj. Seeing Maharaj Vasudev walking to and fro looking tense and stressed Ranvijay asked, “Kya hua Maharaj?” (What is the matter Your Majesty?)

“Rajgarh jaane ka samay aa gaya hai. Bhuramal, Neelakshi se kahiye ki woh samaan baandhe.” (Its time to return to Rajgarh. Bhuramal, inform Neelakshi to start packing.)

“Parantu kyun Maharaj?” (But why Your Majesty?)

Maharaj Vasudev narrated Maan’s coming to his home and Maan’s accusing Maharaj Vasudev of deceit. “Hum Neelakshi ko uss Maan Singh se door rakhna chahte hain. Hum nahi chahte ki Geetanjali ki tehre Neelakshi bhi uss Maan Singh ke moh-jaal mein phans jaaye.” (I want to keep Neelakshi as far as possible from that Maan Singh. I do not want that Maan Singh to seduce my Neelakshi by his looks and sweet talk like he did to Geetanjali.)

“Your Majesty, I will suggest that lets wait for a week or two before we leave. Because if we leave immediately Maan Singh Khurana will feel that you have run away as his suspicions are right.”

“Maharaj, hum bhi Ranaji ki baat se sehmat hain.” (I also agree with Rana Ranvijay.) Bhuramal also supported Ranvijay.

“Theek hai hum dus diwas pashchaat prasthaan karenge. Kintu Ranvijay aap kadi suraksha ka prabandh kariyega ki woh Maan Singh Khurana, Neelakshi se mil nahi paaye.” (Fine, we will leave after 10days. But Ranvijay please see that there is tight security in the premises of this Villa as well as around Neelakshi so that Maan Singh Khurana can’t meet her.) Then Maharaj Vasudev thought of something and said, “Bhuramal, dekhiye ki humare kul aur pratishtha ke anukool koi vivaah yogiye Rajkumar athva Maharaj hain Rajkumari Neelakshi ke vivaah ke liye?” (Bhuramal, kindly scan and see if there are any eligible Princes and Kings which are similar to our status and royal lineage for marriage of Princess Neelakshi.)

“Kintu Maharaj, Rajkumari-sa ka toh..........” (But Your Majesty, Princess is..........)

“BHURAMAL AADESH KA PAALAN HO.” (Bhuramal, fulfill the royal order.) Maharaj Vasudev roared in anger.

“Ji...ji..M...M...Maha...raj. Jaisa aapka aadesh.” (Yes...yes..Y...Y...Your M...M...Majesty as you wish.) Munshi Bhuramal said shivering. Whereas Ranvijay was nodding and clucking (in silence) in the background at the middle aged King’s immature and child like behaviour.
