I'll be my unabashed honest self lol, I've read it all but commenting now. Bit lazy, won't bother blaming Ramzan for it, it's in the genes lol. Well not in my parental genes, mummy and daddy work like hell even today they were in their beloved garden. Its juts ME and my genes, god knows where they came from and NO I ain't adopted unlike what my siblings believe

Chap 2

I really like this Geet, she's so human; and a dork almost. I love dorks. I grew up reading Dork diaries, and still do although highly over aged for it now, though my baby sisters reads them now. Well anyway, I love reading Geet POV and totally agree pity dating, no thanks. Maan however sounds like genuine guy however slightly flustered with him taking Radhika back but that's for a future post lol

I like now he asked her again, almost unsure whether she would agree, aww. Over the moon with them going to the prom together, however they weren't the typical dates. You know the never let one another go' types lol

Chap 3

Maan smokes, ah ha don't fancy that. My dad is a heavy smoker, has been to smoking cessation and all but he just won't give up although he vows he will every year lol. I sure hope Maan can quit, there's nothing cool about smoking. Thank gosh the current generation are not that into it. Though of course everyone has tried it once upon a time, including I. That was the first and last, I promise. I almost dead coughing and never mind almost got caught hiding behind terraced houses near our highschool. We were allowed to go out for lunch back then, so really you'd find clusters of boys and girls behind houses smoking it out lol. Now when i think of it, how stupid where they and I for even trying 🤢

There was nothing odd about that dance but the dance itself lol, now tap dance is different all together. I actually liked that they found comfort in each other, away from the crowd. I don't know why but I sense that Maan likes her, Geet obviously has like the biggest crush. Ahhh CRUSHES, they don't let you live in peace 'sigh'. But Maan surely has something for Geet, unless he is just that nice to every other girl but i doubt that. Is Geet the special one for him? I sure do hope so.

I totally agree with her, never mind crying I can barely walk when I'm crying lol. Hence I don't do it often i.e. cry

They seem to have found this comfort level and i know by future reading that they loose it too, hopefully it regains soon

Chapter Eight

"Y'er a dick Maan"

I am not grossed out by the use of the word, but just by the impeccable timing of it.

Tired of all the chips and coke extravaganza, I thought to go a little healthy on myself and trying to eat a banana, when I heard the awesome D word. I look at the banana in my hand and wrinkle my nose.

Thanks, brother.

I drop the banana and go back to drinking my coke.

Chips isn't an option given it would give away me listening to the friends' conversation from my room.

This isn't really eavesdropping, mind you. The walls are thin, unluckily for Vicky.

Which is why, Every time he sneaked out, I woke up, being the light sleeper I am, and I never miss a chance to present myself in his room to catch him red handed, trying to climb out from his window, to make some money for myself.

I've made enough money of course.

Blackmail rocks.

"Thanks to you, I can never sneak a girl to my room" he once told me looking at me in distaste.

"Yes, with that face, it becomes difficult" I told him only to receive a smack on my head.

But our brother sister love and affection is for another day. Today, I was camping against my door to listen to Maan and Vicky.

It slowly stuck me that Vicky did an actually reference of Hagrid's ever famous "Y'er a wizard Harry" line.

But belatedly realized Vicky hated anything relatively related to books. So, the only plausible explanation was that he was stuffing his mouth with subway's chicken teriyaki sub while giving the suitable endearment to his best friend.

"I won't blame you" it was Maan speaking now.

"Of course you won't blame me. That's your problem. You won't blame anyone"

"Vicky, you know my stand on this topic"

"Yes, and I think it is stupid"

Maan didn't say anything.

"Don't go silent treatment on me"

"Look Vicky" Maan said, agitated. "Radhika and I know each other for five years"

My coke suddenly goes on the wrong windpipe maybe, I struggle to muffle my voice and not splutter and alert them.

Taking the banana back, I slowly munch it trying to listen to the conversation, as it piqued my interest.

"So that gives her a license to cheat on you with your best friend?"

Whoa! What?

Did she cheat on him with Vicky? Oh wait, doesn't Maan have another best friend? Rishabh. Yeah.

Now that I think about it, I didn't see Rishabh hanging out much with these guys anymore, ever since Maan's breakup.

Oh, I think enjoying the twists in the tale.

"I'm trying to move on from it, so when she came to my home to apologize, I didn't see it was wrong of me to forgive her"

"I'm so not talking to that Rishabh. Today it's your girlfriend, tomorrow it would be my sister. Can't trust a guy like that"

Whoa again. Vicky thinks I'm capable enough to seduce the mighty Rishabh? Lo! He has such high expectations from me, it is endearing.

"I'm not going to find Rishabh the first thing and call it a truce if you're afraid of that" I could hear the smile in Maan's reply.

"Phew, that's a relief" said my sarcastic older brother.

"I still don't understand how you agreed to that girl's stupid idea of being friends"

"Our families knew each other, I was going to see her around in social parties. There's just no reason trying to hold it against her. She liked someone else, and though it hurt that time, I thought of how she had always been there for me earlier. So..."

"Don't even dare trying to talk to me in treating her like earlier." Vicky said, vindictive.

"She would remain just an acquaintance and that's about it Vicky. With her and Rishabh dating now, it is going to be weird for her as well to hang out with us"

"Good to know"

"It's not like I'm going to be around all the time. We all are growing up, choosing colleges and careers elsewhere, who knows how long would these things matter?"

There was silence for a while.

"You bloody are going to be in touch with me for your entire goddamn life"

"Of course" Maan said, a smile in his voice. "I'll get a canteen card and you'll get liquor at cheaper rates, is that it?"

"Absolutely" I hear Vicky and there was a loud clap like sound, which I deduce to be a high five.

Such bromance, I think rolling my eyes and as I hear some shuffling, I immediately go soundlessly to my bed and pull out a novel to fake read it until I heard the knock on my door.

"Chutki?" I hear Vicky and wrinkle my nose in distaste.

"Yeah" I call out, making enough noise and making enough delay to show I'm minding my own business.

Opening the door, I look at Vicky and Maan standing somewhere in the background.

"We're going out. Come close the door"

Like a dutiful sister, I extend my palm.

"What? I'm not sneaking out"

"Technically you're. This is way past your curfew time and our parents aren't home, so think again"

"Argh, you're a witch" he says pulling his purse out and checking for a note to shut me up.

"That's so not an insult" I try to laugh but embarrassingly enough, a snort accompanies the laughter.

"If anything, it's my dream to study in Hogwarts and be a witch"

"Maan, you got some money man? I need it immediately to escape this mental torture"

"Is 200 enough?" He asked holding out the note.

Before Vicky could reply, I snatch it and grin.

"Damn it, you should have given 100. That's her usual. Now you won't get the rest back"

"Give it a rest Bhai. You aren't going to stay long before you get caught smoking or sneaking out. I'll waiver you next time"

Vicky was thinking of some not so polite words, but I see Maan pulling him back catching his arm.

"Let's go?" He says mildly.

"Yeah" Vicky answered Maan. "Come down and close the damn door" he snarled at me, while I happily followed them.

Once outside the door, Vicky did a reenactment of bumping his two fists together, like the eternal friends fan he was, to show the finger without showing the finger, while I roll my eyes and with two hands on the back of my head, I try to get my elbows together, the another version of the same giving finger - lame version.

I see Maan laugh in the background.

"Come on dude" he tells Vicky even as he looks at me with mirth in his eyes, somehow giving me an impression that he approves of my obvious brattiness.

He raises a hand for a wave and I hesitantly raise my hand too before closing the door, and leaning against it.

Well, he isn't back with Radhika, that much is clear. But this doesn't exactly change anything, didn't rekindle any crush of mine since it was no point anyway. He was going to leave the next day.

And that's the last memory I had of him for the next couple of years, because his parents eventually shifted from the town, and he had no reason coming back even for summer break.

Glad I ran into this story its a nice delight of how things have started. young relationships, heartbreak, brother best friends and being the brothers sister lol Wonder whats is going to change.
