Geet sighed heavily staring at herself in the mirror recalling the evening, she still couldn't believe she said all that in front of her husband and her friends.
And she swore? She never swore and today she... She covered her face with her palms sighing into them. Jhalli kahin ki...she thought inwardly.
"Geet" Maan called. "You've been in the shower for half an hour now"
She jerked and looked over at the door. "I'm finished" she responded glancing around for her night dress. "Meri dress kahan hai?" she murmured.
She thought back to what she may have done with her dress when she suddenly recalled that she'd come straight to the bathroom jumping into the shower and forgotten her night dress.
Aaj tu pagal hogayi hai Geet she smacked her forehead sighing heavily.
She slowly walked to the bathroom door and slightly opened it. "Maan"
"Hmm..." he hummed not looking up from his phone.
"Can you pass my night dress? I forgot to get it" she asked softly.
Maan lifted his head and looked up, his wife was peeking through the small space staring pleadingly. He nodded and walked over to the walk-in closet opening the chest drawer and grabbing her night dress. He bent down pulling out a change of her undergarments and bundled them up in the dress so she wasn't embarrassed.
"Here..." he handed them to her for which she thanked.
She closed the door locking it and changed into her night dress quickly, she blushed when she noticed her undergarments but was thankful for it.
When she emerged from the bathroom she found the bedroom empty and wondered where Maan had gone. He wasn't on the balcony either.
She walked out of their room and stood by the stairs glancing around whether he was downstairs, she noticed few relatives were still up and chattering away in the hall, her eyes drew to Maan when he walked out of the kitchen with a jug of water and was heading towards the stairs.
"Maan" Krystal called out as she noticed him.
Geet clutched the banister leaning forward, her tinge of jealousy and anger coursing through her. Chipku kahin ki... jaanti hai ke Maan shaadi shuda hai aur phir bhi...
Maan ignored her and continued to ahead.
"Maan" Krystal rolled her eyes jogging up joining his side. "Seriously? Very mature"
Maan swiftly turned narrowing his eyes. "Stay away from me Krystal. Last time I let it go but you're not 18 years old anymore" he replied sharply.
"Not need to be an ass!" she hissed back quietly passing an easy smile over at their relatives who looked over in curiousity. "Like you said I'm not 18 years old" she scowled at him. "I called you for a reason, I'm the photographer for this wedding so I was going to ask that you coordinate with Geet and wear something that's similar in colour for the engagement. It's only a day away"
Maan stared at her for a moment then turned climbing the stairs as if she hadn't even spoken a word which earned an eyeroll from Krystal.
Geet who'd watched curiously wondered what Krystal said to her husband.
"Are you going back downstairs?" Maan approached Geet.
"Nahi..." she shook her head following him into their room. "Uh... Wh.. What did Krystal say?" she questioned trying to sound nonchalant and hoped she succeeded.
"Nothing..." Maan shrugged placing the jug of water down onto their coffee table.
"She must've said something seeing as she did move her mouth" she blabbed widening her eyes as she realised what she spouted.
Maan looked at Geet surprised.
"I... I didn't mean it like that" she mumbled.
"Is something the matter?" he asked her gently.
"I don't like Krystal" she sighed.
"Neither do I" he chuckled.
"Maan it's not funny" she looked around their room restlessly.
"Geet tumhe kya hogaya hai?" he looked amused.
"I don't like that Krystal likes you" she confessed. "I don't like it when she approaches you or comes next to you or even talks to you. I don't like it at all" she admitted in one breath.
"Why?" Maan looked at her confused.
"Yeh puchne ki baat hai Maan? Why?" she looked offended.
"Geet you're going to have to tell me because I don't know why you don't like it" he looked even more confused.
She huffed pouting her lips. "Main sone jaa rahi hoon"
"Geet meri baat toh..."
"I'm sleeping" she informed climbing into their bed and pulling the blanket over her.
"Geet" Maan rested his hands on his hips.
"I'm not scared of you anymore" she tugged the blanket up higher covering half her face.
"Tum pagal ho chuki ho aaj" he murmured shaking his head.
"Whatever" Geet mumbled hearing her husband's muttering. Why? Yeh kaisi sawal hai? Reason chahiye kya? Aur uss Krystal... Sab mujhe ghoorte rehte hai jaise ke main Maan ko nahi paaya...
Geet looked between Arav and Puja curiously. "So... what do you think?"
"Your ideas are great" Arav spoke first. "Destination is something which is going to take a lot of planning though. I've got it noted down what ideas you have and I'll try to work with them, there probably will be additional stuff I'd be adding but will keep it close to the idea you are visualising" he explained.
"Hen party I'm planning though" Puja informed. "Your ideas nice but this is like last party of Meera's single life. She has to enjoy it"
"What's wrong with my idea?" Geet frowned. "I've got a nice theme and everything" she looked down at her scrapbook where she'd started jotting down ideas and clipping on pictures from wedding magazines.
"It's too babyish..." Puja drawled.
"I'm not a baby!" Geet narrowed her eyes.
"Geet you've got twister for a game? Haven't you heard of Hunk in a balloon or jenga drinking or anything else? You might as well get out snakes and ladders" she huffed.
"No drinking" Geet cut in.
"You're not planning hen party" Puja countered. "I'm going to do it"
"Puja tu..."
"Stop being so dull, you need to adapt and be fun" Puja nudged her.
"Half of his family are going to be there" Geet murmured. "What are they going to think?"
"Why are you going to invite half the family? It's a hen party"
"Why don't you explain nicely?" Arav nudged his sister.
"That hurt" Puja scowled at him.
"Stop being so rude" Arav countered. "Explain nicely"
"Alright!" Puja scrunched her nose at him then turned to Geet. "Geet a hen party is..."
"Are you taking the piss?" Arav hissed when she started to drawl in a quiet voice.
"Why don't you go? You've got your ideas for the wedding, go prepare" Puja pointed to the door.
"Make your own way back then" Arav stood turning his head to Geet. "I'll get back to you on the wedding and reception" he informed her to which she nodded offering a small smile as he leaves.
"You're so mean to your brother" Geet mutters as she turns to Puja.
"Shut up and listen to me" Puja waved her hands. "Okay, hen party you don't need to invite his family. It's just us friends having a little fun... You can maybe invite his young single cousins but not so many. Just invite one or two of them"
"But what if the others want to come?" Geet frowned.
"You're not going to tell them location. I'll make invites and give them out" Puja continued. "Like on card it'd say You are invited to attend the hen party of Meera Singhania's. Please be ready for 7pm on this day and a car will pick you up from this location. Dress code: Gatsby dress, sexy short dress or something along those lines" she explained.
Geet pondered over what Puja said for a moment then nodded her approval. "Okay but remember there's journalists all over this wedding. I don't want that we embarrass Maan or Dadima in any ways"
"Alright... There's a perfect location already in my mind" Puja grinned.
"Where?"
"Our family farmhouse, it's out of Delhi, not too far. But there is loads of places we can go to, 10 minutes from farmhouse there's a small town where we can go around bar hopping or something you know if everyone wanted to go out for a drink or something"
"Alright... Hen party is yours but I'm still involved. I want to know the games and what you have planned..."
"Okay okay" Puja grinned widely clapping her hands. "I'm so excited"
"Remember though it's a surprise for everyone. Meera or Vikrant can't know. I don't Amelia to know either, she'd probably blab it out to Meera and Vikrant"
"Alright, I won't tell a single soul" she mockingly zipped her lips.
Geet laughed, her eyes drew to the clock as she realised it was almost 7 in the evening. "We've been here for the last 2 hours and hadn't even realised the time" Geet stood. "Dadima is probably trying to get dinner ready... I should've asked Arav to stay for dinner" she shook her head regrettably not realising.
"It's okay, he'd probably go binge on his takeaway"
"Takeaway?" Geet looked at her curiously as they both walked out of Maan's study.
"Yeah, he has a lot. He doesn't seem it but that's only because he goes to gym. But most nights he gets takeaway on the way home from work or something" she explained.
"You go and sit with them, I'm just going to get my phone. I left it upstairs, I'm waiting for a call back from the catering company for the engagement" Geet told Puja.
"Okay" Puja nodded joining Maan's cousins who were around Krystal.
"Geet where have you been?" Maan asked when Geet entered their room. "I've been looking for you and even calling you"
Geet stared at him then turned her head away passing him as she walked towards their nightstand and grabbed her phone.
"Geet..." Maan called turning around facing her.
She didn't look up from her phone.
"Geet?" Maan walked towards her which prompted her to lift her head.
"Kya hai?"
"You're ignoring me?" he asked.
"What do you think I was doing this morning when I walked out without speaking?" she questioned him crossing her arms.
"Staying with your crazy friends has corrupted you Geet" Maan rolled his eyes pondering when did his wife gain confidence to show off her crazy attitude.
"Kya kahan aapne?" she gaped at him.
"Sach hi toh kahan" Maan shrugged walking into the walk-in closet.
"Mazak kar rahe hai kya?" she tapped his shoulder.
"Mazak kyun karunga?" he glanced over.
"You can sleep on the sofa tonight" she informed.
"What?" Maan stared at his wife stunned.
"Aapne suna na? main dobara nahi kahungi"
"Kya, kya kya?" he held onto her arm as she turned to leave.
"I'm not going to repeat it Maan" she told him lifting her head high trying to seem confident.
"Accha?" he released her hand crossing his arms. "Geet..." his voice dropped as he stepped forward.
"Aap yeh..." she stepped back swallowing hard. "Maan..." she pointed her finger. "Aap..."
"Main kya Geet?" he arched his brow.
"Aap... Dadima sach kehte hai... aap bilkul saru hai" she murmured leaving the walk in closet. "Kal mujhe reason pucha aur aaj mujhe crazy bhi kahan..."
"I only asked a question yesterday and I didn't say you're crazy. I said you're friends crazy and they're corrupting you" he explained smugly.
"Make more fun of me" she frowned. "Aaj raat aap sofa pe hi soyenge" she stated crossing her arms.
"Accha..." he moved towards her swiftly.
Geet's eyes widened in shock, she ran towards the door in the hopes of escaping before he caught her but she failed. Maan was on her within seconds and had her scooped up in his arms.
"Maan" she wiggled trying to free herself.
"Shush" Maan cut in placing her on their bed and straddled her placing his thighs on either side. "You're going to tell me why you've been ignoring me" he informed sternly.
Geet turned her head.
"Geet" Maan lowered his head cradling her cheek and tipped her chin towards him. "If you don't tell me what I've done wrong, how am I supposed to know?" he asked.
"Why would you ask me why yesterday?" she mumbled.
"If that made sense in your head, it doesn't make sense in mine" he smirked.
"See... aap hamesha..." she huffed pouting her lips.
"Speak to me" he pressed his lips to her cheek. "What's been bothering you?"
"If you laugh you're going to sleep on the sofa" she told him.
"I'll agree but I know I won't be sleeping there" he tweaked her nose. "Now tell me..."
