A Proposal
Dadima was pacing in her room and Dev watching that felt dizzy, "Dadima, I'm feeling dizzy watching you move to and fro. "Dear, I'm just waiting for a call they are our last hope. I have got you transferred in a co- ed dear, so you just rest till then until the paper work gets completed, She said caressing his head. "But Dadima, girls are yucky, why should I study with them, He pouted. "Beta, am I yucky, She asked he nodded in negative."No Dadima, you are the best,He said hugging her.
"Dear, I was also a girl once right, so just think of them as your friends like you have others, alright and never...I mean never think of leaving me and leading the life of a sage, She made him promise. She just wanted to strangle that sage whom her stupid grandson ran off to. Luckily, she did not meet him, don't know how her grandson met that cursed old man. She never told her son or her grandsons that their stupid granddad was alive somewhere, that wretched old husband of hers ran off to the Himalayas to become a sage, and now her stupid grandson did the same. Her thoughts were broken by the shrill ring of the phone, "Hello...haan...bahut acha...theek hai...dhanvyavad (thank you). Dadima prayed hoping this work while caressing the head of her youngest grandson who was sleeping in her lap.
Maan had returned, he entered the cottage only to find his Guruji waiting. "Putra , kya aapne Geet ko uske ghar tak chod diya, koi samasya(problem) to nahi hui, He asked. "Ji Gurudev, maine aapki aagya( orders) ka paalan(follow) karte hue Geet ji ko unke ghar chod diya, He answered. "Chalo putra, ab tum bhi vishram(rest) kar lo, The sage left saying but Maan thoughts were occupied by Geet. He went to the room where he found Aditya and Yash already sleeping. He went and slept there still thinking about the girl he met today. The next morning again they were waiting for their teacher. The sage smiled at Maan and Aditya but when he looked at Yash he found him half asleep, he shook his head the boy in front of him displeased with his childish behavior while the other two try to nudge their friend out of his dreamland to which he woke up and grinned nervously. "Aaj hum aap sabko jeevan ke chaar ashram jo humare vedon (Veda) mein kathit(spoken about) hain uska gyan pradan (giving) karenge, Said the sage looking at the three boys. "Ji Gurudev, All three nodded and listened attentively to the sage's teachings. "Guruji, mera ek prashn(question) hai, Aditya asked. "Poocho putra, The sage smiled. "Ji jab humein vivah karna hi hai to ye sab ..., He left the question incomplete. "Putra, ye tapasya(meditation) tumhe aage ke jeevan ka path tay karne mein madad karegi, The sage smiled.
Maan now asked the question which was bothering him, "Guruji, agar hum is prakshishan(training) ko karne mein asafal(fail) hue to..."Beta, har kaam upar prabhu par chod do, safalta(success) aur asafalta (failure) dono hi jeevan ki dhoop(light) chaav(dark) jaisa hai, ismein nirash(sad) nahi hona chahiye, The sage answered but Maan was not satisfied with it. The sage again assigned them new tasks while he asked Yash to repeat his previous task.
Maan started towards the forest again to gather the things the sage asked. He was going ahead when he heard the sound of anklets. He turned around but there was no one then he felt something dropped on him and looked up to see Geet there. "Aap wahan kya kar rahi hain Geet ji, He asked. Geet was trying to pick something from that tree lost her balance by the sudden voice and slipped, before she could hit the ground Maan caught her.
"Aap theek to hain, He asked. "Bach gayi, acha hai iss baar aapne bhed bhav nahi kiya stri(woman) purush ka nahi to do char haddiyan to toot hi jati meri, She giggled it was then he saw that the tree wasn't that high as it was a custard apple's tree.
"Ye ped to zyada uncha bhi nahi to aap upar kyun chadhi thi, He asked. "Aapke liye uncha nahi hoga par mere liye tha, ab mujhe neeche utariye, She pouted. "Mujhe shama kijiye, main aapko ..., Before he could complete he again heard her laughing.
"Main to mazak kar rahi thi, waise jab aap shama maang hi rahe hain to meri madad kariye ye todne mein. Mujhe ye khana hai, She said. Maan helped her getting the fruit she wanted. She smiled and split it in half and offered the other half to him,Ye lijiye kha lijiye, kehte hain mehnat ka phal meetha hota hai. Ye aapki mehnat se mila hai.
"Dhanvyavad (thank you), He said taking it from her. "Aaj aap yahan kis liye aaye hain, Geet asked while eating with her mouthful. "Ji, Guruji ne mujhe kuch aavashyak(important) jadi bootiyon ko ekatra(gather) karne ke liye bheja hai, He said. "Kya main aapki madad karoon, Geet offered her help. "Nahi Geet ji, agar main apki madad leta hoon to ye to Guruji ke sath dhokha hua na, Maan said denying her help. "Chaliye to phir ye aapka udhar raha mujh par, jab bhi aapko madad chahiye hogi, mujhe zaroor bataiyega, Geet smiled. "Ji avashya(surely) poochunga, Maan said.
Geet went back to her house where her mother was waiting for her. "Geet beta, tumhare pitaji ne tumhare liye ek rishta dekha hai, Her mother chirped. "Maa, mujhe shadi nahi karni, Geet said not interested in the subject. "Arey dekho to, ye log tumhare dadaji ke mitra(friend) the, unki taraf se rishta aaya hai. Ladka dekhne mein acha hai, She said trying to show her the boy's picture. "Maa maine kaha ne, chaliye mujhe bhookh lagi hai khana dijiye, She said diverting the topic. Her mother sighed keeping the picture on the table, "Theek hai jab mann kare to ek baar dekh lena.
As her mother left Geet felt bad for denying the request of her mother, "Chal Geet dekhne mein kya jaata hai, koun sa ye photo se bahar nikal ke tere gale mein varmala daal dega. She picked up the photo of the boy and her eyes popped out looking at it. "Ye kaise ho sakta hai ...
