I am answering to this question, because the OS is result of a reader's choice or demand based on some lyrical lines...and me being that reader here...the story plot, writing and wording is Spoorthi's creativity though

and so I am trying to answer your question,

I know being Maaneet fan we would never want to separate them and want to have happy endings for them always.

but, for the one shot if you can consider it as a phase of life..and for the emotions Geet is going through in this current phase of life..

because the OS was meant to show this, to show Geet's side of the selfless love through her continual persuasion..it was meant to create that restlessness and anxiety for the readers.

may be she will get what she is perusing for..
or may be not..because that also is a possibility. isn't it

but all this may be or may not be is left for the future.
and there is always a hope for the better..
