I have always found Bengal and its culture very fascinating. In fact every culture with its villages, traditions , cuisines is beautiful. But with modernization we do tend to forget its beauty. But i would like to believe its still there and all we have to do is go and look for it.

And I will try my best to take the story to its destined end !

This is a song I love so much. And this is the song that kept playing in my head. Strangely the lyrics also went so well with the situation...

"... tum in sabako chhodake kaise kal subah jaaogi...

mere saath inhein bhi to tum yaad bahut aaogi..."

At the banks of a lake sat two people, their bond not tied by any blood but still warm and deep. At turbulent times, they both are somehow wondering about the other. He's worrying about the next course of action, she, the practical one and a slight cynic was worrying how to tell her little brother something experience taught her.

I know the original song had a different setting and the bond between the two people in there vastly different from the one portrayed here. But the picture you painted is as peaceful as the song. Holding as much turbulence in its belly, and soothing like the cool breeze of dawn.

You Balika Vadhu for me has lot of memories attached with it. When I was young I used to come back home from school. I must be in 7th or 8th and some of the days we (my mother, my sister) we would all sit in front of our TV set and watch an old movie on set max , star gold or zee cinema. I used to love those afternoons. Mummy would tell me about the first time she watched the movie. It was fun. I had really enjoyed watching this movie.
And about the song, well songs like this are evergreen. I enjoy listening this song and I am really happy that the story in some way reminded you about that song.

and on the story...it is a beautiful start..
I loved the ambience of this first scene and also the depiction of the emotions they are going through..
the calm river, cool breeze...they are at their usual place on the river bank trying to find solace..but the thoughts, worries and sadness racing through their minds...and both consoling each other in their naive and innocent ways..in the past it was Geet and now Shubhodeep..
looks like there is no one to look after them now, but they are there for each other..
Waiting for the entry of Master babu..

Wonderful beginning. Geet and Subho bond is lovely. She got him out of his mother's loss and now he is trying to help her to cope up with her loss.
