CHAPTER 60
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS(if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any royal titles, architectural terms,IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. PLEASE DON'T BASH ME !!!!!
It was six days since Maan had again left Geet in mid-stream of life. She did not have Maan's India mobile number. If she asked Dadimaa for his number, questions will be raised. She was now apprehensive as the people who were insistent on her marriage were her loved ones not strangers! She was continously denying to marry Rajkumar Devraj as she found him uncivilized and a lecherous man. When she was asked, 'whom she would like to marry?" She had no answer. Although Maan had not confessed but she saw a soft and tender feelings in his eyes which he had never seen earlier. She was confident that Maan will return well in time to save her. If not, then there was always one way out maybe a coward one but a way out! Geet may have been angry at Maan but she can never be anyone elses except Maan's!!
Late afternoon and early evening, brought arrival of Vicky, Meera and Adi. The arrival of trio brought with it hope for Geet. But the hope was soon crushed by Vicky and Adi's solemn faces and stating that Maan is busy in some business deal and may not attend Armaan's Coronation. Arjun came and took Vicky, Meera and Adi around Rajgarh Palace and briefed them about tomorrow's "Coronation Ceremony"!
"Vicky, can't we do anything for Anjali bhabhi?" Meera asked.
"Meera didi, abb aap Gudiya ko "bhabhi" kehne ki aadat chodh dijiye. Kyuki bahut jald hi yeh Rajkumar Devraj ki patni hongi!" Riddhima commented. (Meera stop calling Gudiya 'bhabhi'. Because very soon she will be Prince Devraj's wife!)
"Bhabhi-sa, ISS DEH(body) MEIN JAB TAK JAAN HAI, YEH JAAN HUMESHA MAAN KI THI, HAI AUR RAHEGI! MAAN CHAHE GEET KE HO YA NA HO!!" (Riddhima, as long as there is life in this body, THIS LIFE IS, WAS AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN MAAN's! Maan may or may not be Geet's!)
Shocking everyone present. Vicky and Adi could sense underlying threat in Geet's words. Adi excused himself on pretext of business emergency and rushed to call Maan. Hearing Adi's urgent tone & narration of Geet's words Maan understood the implication. He tried to complete the formalities of deal as soon as possible and rush to Rajgarh but it was taking time at each and every step. Geet was sitting in her royal chamber, holding a ring with large stone in it. There was a small hidden compartment below the stone where one could store something. There was sound of someone approaching her chamber and a door opening, Geet quickly hid the ring in her clothes. Rest of the day passed without any event.
Next day was nice and bright February morning, making the weather pleasant and not freezing cold like usually is in month of February! There was a hustle and bustle around the palace. 'The Coronation Ceremony' started where lot of Kings, Princes and Princesses were present from neighbouring Kingdoms. Devraj and Sameera were not invited and kept under close scrutinity of Rajgarh and Rampur Palace gaurds! Kings and Princes could not keep their eyes away from Geetanjali's beauty and grace. Being the only sister, Geetanjali was required to perform some ceremonies for "Raj-abhishek" of Armaan & Arjun hence she was in front of everyone's eyes! Yash, Vicky and Adi were getting irritated by remarks being passed on Geetanjali's beauty by so called Kings, Princes and Princesses. When the major ceremony was done and Geetanjali was no longer required, Dadimaa asked Hira Devi, Riddhima, Arohi and Meera to take Geetanjali inside the "RANI MAHAL." Vicky called Maan and narrated all events during coronation ceremony. Maan on otherside was fuming in anger but was helpless due to the project and the wedding mahurat was soon approaching.
Geet again tried convincing Armaan once again for delaying her wedding but Armaan was firm and said, "Gudiya, aap kewal hummei bahalane ke liye kahti theen ki aap humesha humara aadesh manegi. Samay aane par aap ne apne pair(feet) wapis mod liye!" (Gudiya, you were only trying to placate me that you will always do as I say but now when the time has come you want to retreat back.)
"Nahi Maharaj! Hum Rajgarh ki Rajkumari hain, aur aaj hum vacchan dete hain, aap jiss kissi se humara vivaah tae karenge, hum vivaah unse hi karenge!" (No Your Highness! I Princess of Rajgarh, promise you, that I'll marry whomsoever you choose for me!) Everyone present was stunned hearing Geet's promise.
Dadimaa was the most worried person as her plan was going haywire. She was so confident that Maan would confess and marry Geetanjali. But this unplanned arrival of business deal ruined her plan. Whom does she make sit at bridegroom's place? She will die before making that imbecile and lecherous Devraj come near Geetanjali. Rajmata Savitri Devi had not yet found solution of one problem when another problem arrived in form of Prince Devraj and Princess Sameera in their gawdy bridal finery. She gave an indication to Yash to make them settle in two rooms.
"Dadimaa, abb kya karen? Gudiya ko toh humne vivaah ke liye manna liye. Kintu Maan ka kya?" Armaan said in hush tones as Vicky and Adi were close by. (Dadimaa, what should we do now? I've made Gudiya agree for this wedding. But what about Maan?)
"Armaan beta, abhi yeh natak ko kuch der khechna hoga. Tab tak hum sochte hain kya karna hai." (Armaan, we will have to pull this drama for a little while longer. Till then lets think what can we do?)
"Hum humari phool si bahen ko inn dono jahilon ke ghar kabhi nahin byaaheinge!" (I'm not going to get my sweet and delicate sister get married to the family of these two imbeciles!)
Despite of everyone trying they could not find a solution. Dadimaa, Rajveer, Armaan, Riddhima, Arjun, Arohi & Yash were trying to find a youngman who can sit next to Geetanjali and act as her husband and Vicky, Meera and Adi trying to find a way of stopping the marriage. Time was rapidly passing and still there was no solution in sight. Riddhima, Arohi and Meera, along with Thukarain Hira Devi, got Geetanjali properly dressed. Armaan dejectedly went near Devraj's room and said, "Rajkumar Devraj sheeghr taiyaar huye, Rajpurohitji aap ko sheeghr ati sheeghr bulanewale hain!"(Prince Devraj get ready fast. The Royal Priest will call you very soon!)
"Gudiya, aap sheeghr taiyaar huye. Riddhima, Arohi and Meera aap teeno bhi madaat kijiye!" Armaan and left Geetanjali's chamber with solemn face and lowered head. (Gudiya, Please get dressed quickly! Riddhima, Arohi and Meera please help her!)
Riddhima followed Armaan, "Suniye! Sab theek hojayega! Aap chintith na ho!" (Don't worry! Everything will fall in place.)
"Kaise chinta naa karen? Aap ke bhai abhi bhi Delhi mei hain. Aur humari phoolon si bahen ka vivaah uss bewakoof se honewala hai!" Armaan banged his hand on the door frame. (How can I not worry! Your brother is still in Delhi. My rose like sister is going to marry that idiot!)
Royal messenger knocked on the door and said, "Rajkumari Geetanjali ki Vivaah ki vidhi prarambh karne ke liye Rajpurohit (Rampur) aur Chote Rajpurohit(Rajgarh) aap ko aur Raajmata ko bula rahe hain!"(The Royal Priests have asked the presence of Queen mother and His Highness to start the wedding ceremony of Princess Geetanjali.)
Upstairs in Geetanjali's chamber, after getting the bride ready, Riddhima, Arohi and Meera,along with Thukarain Hira Devi left for mandap saying they will return a little while later to bring Geetanjali down for the pheras. This was the privacy Geet was waiting for. Once the four left, Geet went in front of her Kanha temple and said, "Yeh Jeevan aap ne diya toh yeh aap mei hi samaa (combining) raha hai!" Geetanjali gulped down the powder present in the container below the big stone of her ring. (This life is given by you so its now combining with you!) Downstairs, Rajmata Savitri Devi and Maharaj Armaan Singhania gave permission with heavy heart to start Geetanjali's wedding. The bridegroom was called to the mandap and wedding ceremony started. A little while later Riddhima, Arohi and Meera came and took Geet downstairs to the mandap. Armaan did "Kanyadaan", Yash and Adi(Geet's wish) combined did "Kheeldaan". Then the 7 pheras - first 4 pheras bridegroom was in front and last 3 pheras bride was in front. In the six phera Geetanjali stumbled and was about to fall but was supported by the bridegroom. In the seventh phera Geetanjali softly whisper, "RAJA, RAJA, RA...JA..." After Pheras, bridegroom filled Geet's maang and tied mangalsutra around her neck. Rajpurohit then announced, "Abb se aap dono pati-patni hain. Baadhon ka aashirwad lijiye!" (From now you are husband and wife. Touch elders feet and take their blessing?) Geetanjali with her new husband bent down to take Dadimaa's blessing but didn't get up she collapsed in a hump on Dadimaa's feet mumbling, RA...JA, RA...
JA, R...A...J...A..." !
