Hello all!
Thanks to all your wonderful comments and likes for my first OS on Maneet -Nothing else matters ,here I am with the next one.. Hope you like it 😊

"Number 7..Ms Geet Handa? You are next"
"That's me ..okay thanks"
The organiser left after letting me know that it was my turn next..oh wait a minute..you have no idea what this is about now,do you? I will explain..
I am Geet Handa..I am a student of the Arts college .. I am passionate about music and here I am,a finalist in my favourite music show..
I am nervous..you can add excited and scared to that..Why? Well obviously , one of the reasons being that I must perform well and win the contest..but the other reason,due to which my excitement might overshadow the nervousness is that I will be meeting THE Maan Singh Khurana today ..
Now don't tell me you don't know him..okay fine, for the benefit of all, he is THE music sensation of the country ! Well,that's now..but I will let you in on my secret..I have had a crush on him from my..hmm high school if I am not wrong..😃
He was the apple of everyone's eyes back then.. He was a very nice guy too.. HE was my senior in school and the head of the music band in our school..we always knew he would reach great heights in the musical field and here he is , one of the most popular music directors/singers in the film industry.. Fans go crazy over his songs and he loves all the attention..If only I had had the courage to approach him after school and tell him how much I admire,respect and adore him..
Unknowingly ,even to me ,well it might sound funny I know but trust me ..even I didn't know how this happened..The 'this' being my falling in love with him,over the years .. He worked extremely hard to attain this position today and I know that very well cos one of his closest friends is my friend's colleague.And the fact that I have fallen in love with him is known by my best friend,Meera.
And today,after so many years,I am going to meet him in person,again.. I really want to go and hug him the moment I see him but well I can only dream..I am a simple girl and he is a celebrity..there is no way it will work and I am sure he wouldn't have even noticed me back in school thanks to his own gang of friends and me being his junior and all that..
Okay I will continue talking in a while,got to go now..hope I do well..
"Hello Geet! How are you doing? So...the grand finale! How does it feel to be here and how have you prepared ?"
"Hi Maya..I am doing great ..it feels like a dream ..when I entered this contest ,I just wanted to give my best but I never actually imagined singing in the finale ! I am grateful to my voice trainer and I guess I have prepared well.. Hope it goes fine"
"Good luck Geet..the stage is all yours"
The compre Maya is sweet..I stand in the middle of the stage in the huge auditorium.. and there in the first row is him!!! I finally saw him!!! Omg is he smiling at me ? Does he know me ? Okay okay Geet puttar relax! You have to perform now..do not look at him till you finish singing..you can't afford to get nervous..
I take a deep breath and the orchestra starts playing the BGM..I had chosen 'Barsore' from 'Guru' cos it's a tough song to sing and I wanted to give my best in the finale ..so..I close my eyes for better concentration and go into the song..
It gets done and I am getting a good feeling about it cos I have delivered it to the best extent possible..now I can only wait and watch what the results are going to be..
"Wow Geet!! What was that?! You were mind blowing!! I got goosebumps..I am sure everyone feels this way ..Lets ask the judges"
The judges are few other singers,apart from Maan and they all praise Geet for her fantastic performance and all the judges give her a standing ovation..it was maan's turn to comment..
"Geet..you sound like a professional singer already..such perfection in your notes .. I am offering you a song in my next album"
And was that a dream ?*Pinch* *Ahh!!* definitely not!! Maan just told me that he was going to make ME,GEET,sing in his album!!!! If there were not thousands of people watching me live and on TV ,I would've definitely done a happy dance ,right there.. I guess I still have my mouth open from the shock cos I see people laughing and me and Maan himself,chuckling..
"Woh um.. Thank you very much Sir! I can't tell you how happy I am feeling right now..this is more than winning the contest itself !! "..I say ,trying very hard not to add "I love you loads Maan! Wish I could hug you right now for this awesome news",after that sentence..he nods and smiles at me..
Everyone claps signifying the end of my turn and that meant I had to go inside and wait in the room along with other participants..
I turn one last time to look at Maan and he is still looking at me,smiling with wait what was that? A teeny weeny twinkle in his eyes? I am feeling butterflies in my stomach with that expression of his.. He is just way too different today and I cannot put my finger on what that is..but if his offer was going to materialise,I sure will let him know about my feelings..hope I have the courage at least then..
So..time flies and after a while it's time for the results.. It's a unanimous choice..Geet Handa wins the music contest for the year 2015!!
There is a big round of applause and everyone is extremely satisfied with the selection..Geet gets a car and Rs 50,000 prize money 😃
Woah a car and 50,000 bucks! Now this is amazing !! Wow..I feel so good about myself..I wish ma and papa had come here today..what more work can be important enough for them to miss my performance in the finale ? I am never going to forgive them for this..I am glad atleast my friends are here..
"It's time to hand over the prize to the winners..May I call upon the judges and the event sponsors on the stage please? And I would like to add one thing ..Mr Maan had an important program scheduled and so he just left a while back..he asked me to convey his best wishes to all participants and congratulations to the winner"
What? Maan left? How could he ?! I am never going to talk to him..okay I know he doesn't care about that but just for my satisfaction .. But how could he ?😔 I am the winner and he isn't there to give me the prize.. I am always going to remember his absence when I think of today,one of the most memorable days in my life..
Geet gets the prize and after all the cheers die down..she leaves the auditorium ,to treat her friends to some icecream for the time being..
She gets home two hours later and rings the door bell..
"Geet puttar! Congrats!!we are so proud of you..sorry beta,papa and I are just back home so couldn't talk to you earlier .."
"Thanks ma..you both could've postponed whatever work that was and come there you know..I missed you so much ! I am angry with you"
"Acha baba sorry na..forgive us "
"Papa..you also didn't want to see me perform live!"
"It's not like that beta..have we ever missed any function or event of yours till date? It's just that unfortunately,today it turned out this way.."
"Theek hai..do not repeat this"
"Pacca promise!now go get ready"
"Get ready? For what?"
" just wear a nice new dress and come to the living room..you trust us na ?"
"Par papa..atleast tell me what it is about?"

What's with these two today? They always tell me what's going on ..

I try to signal my mother to ask her what's going on..she is oblivious or maybe she is even acting as if she hasn't noticed it..how else can I call her ?
"Uncleji..can I talk to Geet alone please?"
"Of course Maan! You don't have to ask us"
What!he wants to talk to me alone !! I must stand in the same room with him alone !! OMG I am already a bundle of nerves and I am sure that I wouldn't get a word out of my mouth if I see him and now what am I supposed to do? And this blushing face of mine is of great help too
"Geet?chalein?"
He called my name..it sounds so good coming from him..
"Uh..yes" was all that I could manage ..the parents seemed like they were trying to maintain a straight face ..why? God knows
I follow him to my room..he seemed to know my place quite well..
He goes in ,closes the door and turns towards me..my heart starts racing like crazy..
"Geet..I know this is all just too confusing for you right now..don't worry,I will explain..
Well..um..Geet..I met you for the first time in our school and have had feelings for you ever since..I would always wait to get a glimpse of you but somehow you never seemed to show any interest.I was disappointed to say the least.. even I am not sure when my feelings grew so strong that after a point I just couldn't get your thoughts out of my head.. I kept track of whatever you were up to and happened to know by chance ,from one of your friends ,about how you had a crush on me back in school..I was on cloud nine Geet..trust me I cannot explain how happy I felt back then..I focussed on my career,wanting to make it big in this industry so that it will be easy for me to talk to your parents about us .. I followed you whenever possible ,just to get a glimpse of your smiling face..that would make even my most frustrating day,so peaceful!! Geet.. I told my parents about how much I love you and they came with me today to meet your parents .. I know Meera ,she is my brother Dev's childhood friend..I told her about my feelings for you and she told me you feel the same way about me ..so I thought I would give you a surprise today .. Geet..will you be mine forever ? Will you marry me ? I know this is all too sudden but I couldn't wait any longer Geet"
And I am not sure how long I had my mouth open..Maan had to gently close my mouth ,with a smirk on his face, to bring me back to the real world.

"If my essay didn't convey that clearly then yes Geet, I am madly in love with you..Always have ,always will be in love with you"
"Maan! I ..I don't know what to say!! Here I am, blushing at even the thought of looking at you and talking for a few seconds , not getting even the slightest bit of courage to come and tell you about my feelings and here you are, way ahead, and you have even spoken to our parents about this! oMG Maan!! I have had a crush on you for like forever ..I thought because you are a celebrity now ,there was no scope for a 'US'..when you told me about the offer on the stage today, I wanted to only run into your arms and hug you tight but unfortunately couldn't cos of the unconfessed feelings towards you.. I love you Maan and this is like a dream come true .. I am just too overwhelmed with all this..first the contest and now YOU! "
"No tears Geet.. I know they are happy tears still I don't want to see them ever! So,I take this speech of yours as a yes to my proposal?"
I sense my head nodding on its own accord..well of course.. My mind knows how much I have been waiting for this moment and now it finally has happened ..it all seems like a dream though..Maan did so much for ME? I am unable to digest the whole thing!
"Fantastic And btw..you can hug me all you want ,Mishty.. After all we have a whole life ahead of us",he says as lifts me up,swirls , puts me on the ground and hugs me tight.."You look beautiful in this saree.",he says and kisses my cheeks
This day will always remain special to me.. Two things I love the most , form a part of this day..Maan and Music..the best part being that he loves music even more than I do.. I cannot ask for more now can I?
Maan tells my parents about my decision and they are ecstatic..they really like him and I like his parents too..They start talking about the engagement while Maan drags me to my garden,wanting to spend some alone time with me..Afterall ,we have a LOT of catching up to do don't you think?😆
