Part 51 - Dwelling emotions
'Geet ab to bas karo' he complained when still she refused to talk, Geet loved being pampered hence decided to stretch it for a little longer. When she's back in Delhi this would obviously end, plus Maan looked seriously cute when he fretted and complained. Hard to imagine her boss Maan now when the man beside her was anything but serious. They had viewed a few places with her beside him all the time, joined by the hands they entered the restaurant, ate and then left but Geet didn't say a word causing him to wither in wait.
'Chocolate is a girl's best friend. Best gift for your girl if she's angry, in pain or happy. Whatever the occasion celebrate with a block of milk chocolate' he heard the radio presenter say, quickly pulling over he ran into the local store in the hope of finding great treats.
'yeh lo and now if you don't start talking I promise I have other methods' he leaned forward pecking her soft cheek although he would have loved to leather her with sweet lightweight kisses but for now peck did the trick
'Maan' she moaned hitting him
'Don't act Geet I know you like it and we're officially together now so no one can stop me' he tried kissing again but she pushed herself to the far end of her seat trying to glare even when her red-faced cheeks told a total different story.
'Teek hai fine you win, shall we make our way to the airport' he asked with a smile, they had their suitcases in the bag and Maan cleared the bill before their sight-seeing trip, which was a help.
'Mmm' she answered still plastered to the window
'Gosh Geet I won't bite' he joked pulling her towards the centre of her seat
'You never know, your like possessed. This morning and now, chi' even her serious voice did nothing to his floated ego, knowing that his women was bowled over by him was making him feel like superman
'I won't ever do anything that will hurt you Geet' he stated caressing her cheeks while she just nodded smiling at her lap filled chocolates. In was a matter of seconds, the wrappers of Ferrero rocher; Snickers; Bueno and Maltesers displayed the car floor.
'Geet this is a rented car for crying loud' he groaned seeing the mess, it was worse than a kid. Actually even Musky and Armaan didn't do that.
'I know, so pay them a little extra' she commanded like wife while popping in Malteser in his mouth
'Waise how did you know I love these' she waved the remaining chocolates in a child-like manner
'Intuition, lover's intuition' he joked wiping the side of her mouth where the chocolate clung.
'Maan I'm feeling sick' she moaned for the 50th time, they sat on one of those plastic chairs in the airport
'Who told you to eat so much?' he barked getting annoyed, so much for the pleasing mission. 'As soon as he got me, his attitude is changing' Geet eyed suspiciously before placing her head on his chest while his arms went around her waist.
'I know but you brought them, who told you to' she silently argued. Who could argue in such a position, so Maan gave up and stroke her back trying to make her feel better.
'Geet are you better now' he asked her once she exited the toilets, the lime water did do some good.
'Hmm' she answered with a smile, there was still half an hour to go for their flight so they both occupied their seats again
'Geet how would Pari react?' he asked knowing very well the women would throw a hissy fit or even brainwash Geet to never meet him again
'She'll be fine, she likes you know'
'Yeah in a demented way maybe' it was his sarcastic best but did little to please Geet who didn't want to hear a word against her best friends
'Hello' he answered, the tension could clearly be heard in his voice forcing Geet to pay more attention
'You're here, when did you come?'
'Ok but why?'
'Fine I'll meet you when I get back to Delhi'
'What today but...'
'Yeah whatever then'
'Yeah yeah today, I'll text you went I get there'
'Who was it?' she questioned seeing him cradle is head in his palm, this one sided conversation told her that it was someone whom he didn't like on the phone
'My mother' came the terse reply, it made him weak to hear her voice again and truth be told he didn't want to see her again. The last time he saw her was 5 years ago during his half-brother's graduation. Vicky and Dev shared the same platform in his life but that was until he came back and met Geet, with that everything changed. Dev was now more of a brother, while Vicky remained the same, much of an acquaintance. His mother, if he can call her that called him every year during his birthday or sprung up once in a while to see him. Like now, which he hated. He hated to be reminded of his painful child, of the fact that he was an unwanted child, a neglected child.
'Maan app teek ho' Geet asked seeing him turn cold, pulling his hand away she placed a small but smoothing peck on his cheek trying to get rid whatever he felt. But he hugged her tight trying to get rid of that strong feel away, he was no longer a burden. He was loved.
'Maan please tell me what's wrong, you're scaring me' he heard her broken voice reminding him that he was indeed loved
'Nothing, everything is perfect' he answered kissing her again making her blush
Just then they heard the announcement, walking hand in hand they made their way to the plane. Geet smiled big wanting to see him smile, and he did but the pain was evident in his eyes.
'Your mother I thought, Dev told me that' she didn't know how to voice out the confusion, she wanted to know but Maan seemed to be really upset after the phone call
'No she's much alive, but papa died along with Dev's mum' he spoke in a whisper not wanting to discuss anything further
'But' she gasped
'There's not much to it, my parents divorced when I was 5' he stated while leafing through the magazine making no eye contact
'Maan you know I'm here for you' Geet encouraged knowing this was the best time for Maan to move on, if anything she knew how painful it was to live in one's past
'Bolo na' she pestered him to tell his story of his childhood, of his pain, of his life. By the time Maan finished telling his story, Geet was leaning on him. She had no idea that he went through hell and back, this man who was the perfect guy in her eyes was suffering from so much pain.
'Geet' he enveloped her in his arms feeling her shake trying to supress the sobs that erupted but she failed to blink black her tears
'How can she do that, she's a mother' Geet cried on him, tightly holding onto her he tried to make her feel better. This plane ride would have been hell had his angel not accompanied him. Even his pain fell short in front of her tears.
'Can I come with you to meet her?' she asked looking up in the cutest way, finding no way out he had to agree.
Next: There you go, meeting the mother next
