OK here we go.
First let me talk about the pictures.
In my childhood, I had this book of Greek Mythology with bunch of stories about Greek God and Goddesses
But my favorite story amongst them all, was the story of Eros(also called Cupid) and Psyche(Soul)
Eros's mother Aphrodite is jealous of Psyche's beauty and the praise laden on her by others and asks her son to get Psyche to fall in love with a ugly man.
It has meanwhile prophesized that Psyche will marry a monster. So as instructed by the oracle who told the prophecy, Psyche is taken to a mountain top and left there to her fate by her family.
It is however Eros himself who has given the Oracle these instructions.
Psyche is waiting on top of the mountain. Exhausted she falls asleep and when she wakes up she finds herself in a beautiful home. There is food there and beautiful music playing by somebody that she cannot see.
When night falls Eros comes to her and talks to her and kisses her. She knows that the man with the kind voice is her husband and doubts that he is not a monster after all. They start living together as husband and wife. However Eros only comes to her in the darkness of the night and makes her promise that she will never look upon his face. Psyche agrees to this.
However her sisters who are jealous of her tell her that her husband is surely a monster and that is why he is unwilling to show his face.
She creeps up on Eros with an oil lamp i the middle of the night and gasps at the beauty of the God of Love himself. Her hand trembles and a hot drop of oil falls on Eros's shoulder waking him up.
He looks at her sadly and says that there can be no love without trust and flies away.
Psyche who love her husband madly searches for him blindly all over.
Eventually she ends up at the door of Aphrodite, Eros's mother.
The jealous goddess gives her impossible tasks to do so as to prove her love. Psyche agrees.
Meanwhile Aphrodite imprisons the wounded Eros
There is a lot more story to the 3 tasks and I don't remember everything.
However in the end, when Psyche completes the 3rd task she is trapped in the underworld. But because of her unconditional love Eros is healed and frees himself from his mother's prison.
He tells his mother that Love can't be imprisoned forever and goes and rescues his wife from the underworld.
That is the story of Eros(Cupid or Love God) and Psyche( Soul) .
And that is why Love and Soul are always together.
😳😳
The End
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Now after boring you with that long story, I will come to the actual pictures😆
Geet's the greek goddess seems to be eternally awaiting for somebody.
And the Greek God Maan seems to be reaching out for something that is so close yet always just out of his reach.
The pictures tell a world of story and to me they look like Eros and His Psyche
The beautiful Greek God of Love and The Goddess of Soul😳
That was the first story that popped in my mind when I saw the pics and so I though to share it😃
