Mom is fine! She found two spots where it pains when touched on her back. So poor thing is on bed rest. She made rasam with my help and made it for double time so no one has to cook in evening. So had rasam rice and curd rice with baingan ki sabji both the times. But me being me, had choco biscuits as a dessert and now will have orange juice as another dessert. Love juice and sweet dishes too much!😆

I prefer making double but my mom was trads so from my childhood I have seen her cooking twice. Even my dad would cook double but not my mom. Now finally she gave up her trads mentality and thankfully with it her habit of cooking twice a day. Now in the morning she cooks once but unfortunately her calculatio sometimes goes wrong and raat ke liye bahut kam bachta hai! Very rarely enough is left for the dinner. She has forgotten how much to cook as she stopped cooking except for sundays once dad retired and took it up. Infact, she asks me about the measures on how much to cook. You see, I can take one look at my mom and dad and give exact estimate of how much they can eat on particular day as I have been serving them food from the time I was 13 and I know each and everyone of their eating habits! In short, mere ghar mein mujhse pooche baghair khaana bhi nahi banta!😆

Ya! Here too - two different dishes! But I feel it is tiresome when we can just cook double! I mean it is not like earlier times when we used to have roti in the noon and rice at night. Now we have rice all the time then why cook twice? Ek baar banaao aur aaram karo! Sometimes you want to eat different is ok but daily cooking two times is ridiculous when you have back problems, BP and Sugar problems! But mummy meri sune tab na! And while I know how to cook, I know only basic dishes, I dont know the various varieties of rasam and dal ans sambar and dad wants variety and dad can't cook because of his health. Toh if mummy is only going to cook with help from me and with all those health problems, why not make once and take rest? But yeh mummy log na? Apna kabhi nahi sunenge! Bas apni karenge! But I wont relent. I will teach her to live life my way which has lots of shortcut and lots of aaraam!😉

like today i steamed the gobi while making the ras
so it takes same time
as gobi takes long to be soft and ready to eat
and with paneer i usually put alu in microwave and do them
its quicker that way
mummy likes doing things in full way
but i dont have that much patience to wait

Oh neither do I! And my dad too for that matter. No patience at all! Mom goes the whole traditional style, takes almost one hour the make all the dishes. And in between she has to see her serials too. She sleeps early so watches all the serials in the morning. She cooks in breaks and that annoys dad a lot. When dad is cooking, he will do it in a jiffy and it will be ready before it is 8 in the morning. Naastha and khaana both ready in the morning. And yet his chapatis will be naram naram even at 1 PM! Dont know how he does it! Observed him a lot and tried to copy his tricks but never works for me! Even mom cannot do the magic! Dad is a genius at cooking and when asked about it, he says it is like a science and he has Masters in Science Degree! Thats his answer always!

so they wont be stuck eating fast food or ready to eat food like few peeps i know here
