PART 14. EPILOGUE - 5 YEARS LATER

"Aur is tarah, kiddo, maine apne shaatir dimaag se tumhari mummy ko mere ghar tak hi nahi mere Office, Khurana Constructions, tak bhi pahuncha diya. Aur phir jo hua woh...", Maan trailed off as he noticed Mannat asleep in his arms. He smiled softly and continued, "Woh story shaayad main tumhein phir kabhi sunaaunga!" He placed the child in the bassinet. "Jab tum jaag rahi hogi tab!", Maan spoke with a whisper.

It was the morning after Maan and Geet's Wedding Anniversary. Maan had just gotten out of their room to go for jogging when he had heard Mannat crying. He had gone to her room wondering whether he needed to wake Geet up to feed Mannat. But when he entered Mannat's room and picked up the child, he realised that she just needed her diaper changed. But as Mannat continued to cry even after she was changed, Maan decided to tell her a story hoping that listening to his soothing voice might calm her down. Unable to think of any story right away, he decided to continue the story Geet was narrating the night before. He started with the aftermath of Dev and NT's wedding and had just reached till Geet's job offer acceptance when Mannat fell asleep. He smiled and placed a kiss on his child. Tum harqaton mein bhale hi mere jaisi ho, par dikhti bilkul meri Geet jaisi ho! Maan aur Geet ki perfect mix, humaari Mannat! He thought fondly as he brushed the kid's forehead lovingly.

What Maan did not know was that Geet had woken up hearing Mannat cry. She was about to enter Mannat's room when she heard Maan talking to the child and she stilled as she realised that Maan was narrating their story to Mannat. As she heard the story from his point of view, she smiled softly at some points and at some points she cried too. But as she heard the way she got her job, she started getting angry. She was fuming by the time Maan decided to get out of the room. She hid in the nearby room as Maan got out and went for his jogging. After few minutes, she got out of the room and entered Mannat's room.

As soon as she entered Mannat's room she started pacing to and fro in anger. "Hey Babaji! Kaise insaan hain yeh! Kabhi itne pyaar se raat ko chai laate hain! Toh kabhi College chodte waqt ladte hain! Kabhi mere sapnon ke liye apne sapnon ki qurbaani dete hain toh kabhi..." She trailed off in anger as she fidgeted with her duppatta.

As Geet looked at the swaying bassinet, she continued with her rant, "Pata hai Mannat, kabhi dil karta hai tumhaare papa ko gale se laga loon toh kabhi lagta hai unka gala hi daba doon! Main tumhaare papa se isliye naaraaz nahi hoon ki unhonein mere sapnon ko apne pyaar aur parivaar ke aage rakha! Main toh bas...", she trailed off as she sat on the nearby rocking chair.

"Main toh bas isliye naaraaz hoon kyunki mujhe laga tha ki Dev Jiju ne mujhe Accountant ki post mere kaabiliyat ki wajah se diya! Ab pata chala ki sab kuch ek plan ki wajah se hua! Maan ke plan ki wajah se hua!", she huffed angrily. "Pata hai Mannat, tumhaare papa ne na mujhe bahut sataaya! Shaadi ke pehle bhi aur shaadi ke baad bhi, aur yeh sab sirf uss stupid image ke liye! Unke stupid ego ke liye! Saaf saaf seedhe shabdon mein apne feelings bayaan kardete toh inka kya jaata? Itne games khelne ki kya jaroorat hai? Khadus kahin ke!", Geet ranted in anger. Then she looked at the swaying bassinet. Yeh Mannat aawaaz kyun nahi kar rahi? Har waqt meri aawaaz sunte hi hasne lagti hai? Ab kyun nahi has rahi? She got up from the chair and walked over to the bassinet still talking away, "Ab tum soch rahi hogi ki aise Khadus se mujhe pyaar kaise hua? Woh hua yun ki...", she trailed off as she finally reached the bassinet and noticed Mannat sleeping. She huffed and giggled, "Ab jo hua woh main tumhein tumhare papa ke Office jaane ke baad bataaungi! Abhi tum soti raho aur main jaake tayyaar hoti hoon aur jaake uss Khadus Singh Khurana ke liye naashta banaati hoon!"

Geet stormed off to the kitchen all the while muttering about arrogant guys who preferred to play all types of games instead of simply confessing their love.

THE END

You guys must be so surprised by the sudden epilogue right? But kya karun?

I had planned Dhoom Dhadakka to have Geet's point of view and Jab Se to have Maan's point of view. But it was only now I realised that as Geet was supposed to fall in love during KC to marriage journey.

And for that I would need to write it in Geet's point of view.

So I broke Jab Se's story into two and put a break here!

The next story will have Geet's point of view and her falling in love with Maan and how they get married!

So from now on, this series has five stories!

First was Dhoom Dhadakka

Second is Jab Se Tere Naina

Third will be Kya Pyaar Karoge Mujhse

Fourth will be Yeh Kya Hogaya (working title)

And finally we will have Band Baaja and Maan!
