TV jodis who almost reunited

On screen their ability to create magic moments is unmatched. Their amazing chemistry literally burns the screens whenever they share a frame together.

So much so that even months and in some cases years after their shows have gone off air, channels and production houses keep getting requests/demands from fans to bring them together. Considering TV soaps never see popular jodis working together, that's a difficult feat to achieve, but some of them actually came very close to sharing screen space only to have the offer fall through.

Karan Singh Grover and Shilpa Anand: Their fab chemistry as Dr Armaan and Dr Riddhima in Dill Mill Gayye gave the medical romance an awesome viewership in 2007-8. Two years and two Riddhimas later, Shilpa finally made a comeback on the show as a brand new and spunkier character paired opposite Karan again by popular demand. Unfortunately her track was abruptly cut short and the fans never got to see Karan-Shilpa together. The two came very close to reuniting on screen in Teri Meri Love Stories, but Shilpa chose to work in the Viraf Patel episodic instead. Karan had also recommended Shilpa for Qubool Hai as Tanveer, but things didn't work out. With KSG floating his own production house, may be he'll seriously think of casting his favourite co-star with him?

Gurmeet Choudhary-Drashti Dhami: As Maan and Geet, Gurmeet and Drashti had some amazing romantic moments in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi which gave them tremendous fan following. Months after the show wrapped up, fans wanted to see them together, going to the extent of sending hate mails to Gurmeet and Dhrashti subsequent costars. When the casting for Madhubala..season 2 was being made, among the names that were considered was Gurmeet. However, the actor chose to do Khatron Ke Khiladi instead.

Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani: Television's hottest love birds whose screen vibes in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? made them showstealers and superstars almost overnight. So much so that when Barun quit the show after one and half years, fans of the couple ensured that the channel pull the plug on IPKKND rather than seeing Sanaya paired with someone else. When the casting of Sanaya's next Chanchan was happening Barun's name was floated around as a possible option, but the actor was keen on Bollywood and the two never could reunite.

Karan Wahi and Jennifer Winget: As Sid and Riddhima in Dill Mill Gayye season 2, Karan and Jennifer made a cute couple on screen. Once the show wrapped up, they were brought together on an awards night for a performance together. Karan who had almost been finalized for a show on boxing for a top channel had recommended Jennifer as the female lead and her look test was also done. Only the show never took off and now Jennifer is doing another show while Karan's headed towards Bollywood.
