Love the way you portray all your characters as positive, even if they are thinking differently none of them are wrong.. Same is Maan and Geet, she is thinking about him and he about her.. Love their conversation...

Part 23

When geet walked into the living room, she didn't expect Aashi, Varun and Veer to be present there. "When did you guys come back?"

"I came to drop Aashi and take you back home Geet. Varun told me you guys were sleeping. Where is maan?" veer asked.

"I'm here." Maan walked in and sat down on the couch besides Aashi. Geet could still see the rage on his face. She had pissed him off by walking out of the room. And everyone was aware of Maan's anger. He's always been very hot tempered since very young. And right now, he was not even making an effort to hide it. Varun, Aashi and Veer were looking at her aware that it had to be something to do with her.

"Anything wrong Maan?" Varun aksed.

"Ask her," He said. Pointing at Geet.

Varun had already guessed what the matter was. He knew how this was going to turn out. He could feel the same thing happening all over again. Except that the last time it was between Geet and Veer. Veer had been as angry as Maan looked now and Varun had had to act as a referee to calm both of them down. But then, Veer had relented when Geet had threatened to stop having her medicines. With maan, it was not going to turn out like that. Veer pampered Geet. But maan was serious and hard, not so very lenient with certain things. That was the reason Aashi never went to him when she needed permission for something. Maan was too strict.

Varun patted the seat besides him and asked geet to come over. "Come here sweetheart."

Geet went over and sat besides him. "I wont have the surgery done. I don't want to. And I won't let anyone force me." She said looking at Maan.

Maan leaned to the front on his seat and stared at her. "I am not forcing you. I was just trying to make you understand. But obviously, you wont listen to me." Then he turned and looked at Veer, "You do know that delaying this surgery can make things worse for her. And yet, here she is, taking all the bad decision for herself."

"I'm not taking any bad decision," Geet shot back. "It won't get worse. Even if it happens, it's not something that cannot be remediated."

"Ok wait. I don't understand this. What is supposed to get worse? And how is it going to be remediated. Let's make this clear first." Varun said, intercepting the conversation.

"She doesn't have any cyst growth for the time being Varun. It hasn't started to develop yet. But sahil said that it would start growing after a while. That's why she has to do the ultrasound tomorrow." Veer answered this time.

Varun nodded. He already knew that part. Geet had so many complications that it was hard to keep track of everything. He turned towards geet and extended a hand to caress her hair. "You don't want this to happen Geet. Everyone here cares about you sweetie. They don't want you to hurt more than you already do."

"But nothing has happened yet Varun. I'm fine for the time being." Then she turned to Maan and Veer. "I want to have babies one day. I still can get pregnant. If not naturally then by in-vitro. But I still have a chance."

Maan looked at geet. She looked so vulnerable. So weak. But yet, strong enough to undergo excruciating pain every month just to be able to become a mother one day. Was it worth so much? Even if she cannot conceive, they could adopt. Why didn't she understand that? Seeing her condition, he would prefer her not to get pregnant ever.

When he glanced around and looked at everyone's face, everybody had the same expression. Why did she have to go through this? But even after hearing her pleading so much, he knew he was not going to relent.

"I love you Geet. But one thing you need to get clear is that sooner or later you will be getting this surgery done. Sooner will be better for all of us and especially you. I'm repeating it again. I'm not Veer." Maan said glancing at Veer. "I understand that you want to have a child one day, but not at the cost of what you're going through"

Maan watched her face as her expression changed again. No longer looking vulnerable, her chin lifted up into defiance and he knew what she was going to say. But this time she doesn't get to make the decisions. He was adamant about that.

"Don't tell me I don't have the right Geet. I've known you since the day you were born. Along with Veer, I've taken care of you as a friend throughout your life. And now I'm your partner. If you don't make the right decisions, I will make them for you."

With that he walked out of the room, leaving her speechless. She didn't have the choice. She either agreed or he would make her.

Veer got up from the couch. Maan had walked away, and geet had walked out of Varun's apartment. She had told him that she would wait for him in the car. Varun had gone after her because he had told him to. He had to talk to Maan now.

Maan was sitting in the balcony remembering the sweet moment they had just shared half an hour ago in his room. She had looked so cute. Completely opposite to the girl who had shot daggers at him while he had said those last words. He saw Veer entering the room. Maan didn't need anyone explaining stuff to him right now. "You don't have anything to tell me Veer. Go talk to your sister and make her understand."

He continued staring at him. Accessing him. What the hell! "What are you looking at me for?"

Instead of answering his question he put his hands on the rail and looked straight ahead. "It's not about her situation worsening, isn't it?" Then he glanced his way. "You are just scared. Scared to lose her."

"What are you talking about?" Maan asked. But he had a pretty good idea that he knew.

"I'm talking about the fact that you don't want her to get pregnant ever. And the best way for you to ensure that, is to have the surgery done as soon as possible."

Maan frowned. "Why are you saying this? Why would I not want her to get pregnant?"

"Because you don't want to lose her. You are scared."

Maan glared at Veer. "We both know why we want her to get the surgery done. You want that too right? So help me convince her."

"Yes. I want that too. But I already told you. I'm not forcing her." Veer said.

Maan was enraged. Why would he not want that? "What the hell is wrong with you Veer? Do you want to lose her like you lost your mom? Geet is as stubborn as badi maa was. And because of that she's not here today. I won't let the same thing happen to geet."

Veer smiled. Here finally he had said it. Maan was afraid. He didn't want geet to get pregnant ever, in case she loses her life because of it, just like her mother. But maan needed to understand, things were different. His mother was in far worse condition than Geet.

"I understand Maan. But Geet's condition is much better and you cannot deny the fact that she really does have a chance to conceive one day. Don't snatch that from her just because you are afraid that something might happen. She will be fine even if she doesn't do the surgery right now. So let her maan. Don't force her."

Maan stared at Veer. He was right. He was afraid. And selfish. He didn't want to lose her. Forcing her to do the surgery seemed like the right way. But instead, wasn't he destroying his relationship with her? But still, was he going to be able to see her suffering like that every month? He knew he wouldn't be able to.

"What should I do Veer? I don't know how you do it man. Being with her every time she is in that pain. How have you been doing it for so many years?"

Veer smiled and shook his head. "She is my baby Maan. I have to take care of her. She is not completely healthy, but she is strong. You just have to give her support for the few days she falls weak."

Then they both glanced downstairs where Varun was hugging Geet and extending his arms to engulf Aashi in the hug too. He was making a funny face in order to make geet laugh. Veer frowned at Maan. "Look at your brother first. And then you tell me that I am the one who pampers Geet."

Maan smirked. Varun and Geet were like best friends. He would never win against his brother concerning geet. They both went in to join the other three outside. He had to apologize to Geet.

Varun sighted. Finally he had been able to bring a smile on geet's face. He would have a bad confrontation with Maan. Who did he think he was? He had told him not to force her, and yet that was the exact thing he had done.

Suddenly his eyes caught the red laser beam on Aashi's shoulder. He did not have to try hard to know what it was. He glanced at the direction it was coming from and saw the black SUV with one window slightly down and the barrel staring at him.

He jumped in front of Aashi and pushed geet to the ground. And at the same time, he heard two gunshots and felt a ripping pain piercing his shoulders and below his ribs. Closing his eyes, he gathered enough courage not to fall flat on his stomach. He had to get the girls to safety first. He grabbed his gun from his back pocket and fired at the car. They were in a vulnerable position.

When he glanced back at the car, he got another surprise. It was charging towards them. He couldn't see anything inside as the windows were tinted. Get the girls to safety Varun. You can do it. He grabbed geet and Aashi and charged towards his apartment. He could feel his shirt getting wet with his blood. He was losing consciousness. You cannot Varun...Run!!

Geet's face was hysterical and Aashi looked downright worried. She knew he had caught the rounds. The car was closer to them. They had to hurry. "Quickly baby!!"

He heard the car open and didn't have time to react when he felt a hard metal hit him in the head. He didn't leave their hands even though he felt someone trying to pull them away. He heard voices. Damn there's more than two people. He heard Geet screaming and he saw Aashi trying to fight one of the guys. She had been successful in tearing his mask off his face. Be strong sweetheart. Don't give up.

"Stop fighting you f**king bitch. There's no escaping!" one of the man, his face covered in a black mask said.

Geet and Aashi struggled as the men dragged them to the SUV. They were too strong for them to be able to fight, but yet they were trying to resist. Aashi tried to pull geet out of the van. Then she heard gunshots. When she turned back she saw Maan firing while Veer was kneeling besides Varun.

"Leave her. We got one girl. Boss will be fine with that. He didn't give us any picture. He can't blame us." Aashi heard one man say. Oh no. They are going to drive the car away. She had to try to get in. She couldn't let geet alone. She stopped struggling so that they could take her easily. But instead they pushed her aside and closed the van. Maan kept on firing, running into their direction. But it was too late. They had already taken off.

Maan kept firing as the SUV took off. His shots not doing a damn bit of damage to the SUV. He ran behind it but it took off so quickly. His felt an ache in his heart watching it drive away. Geet! When he turned around, Aashi was in tears. Her wrist and cheek bruised. The bas***ds had slapped her. He grabbed her hand and ran towards Varun. First thing first. He had to take him to the hospital and then he would start his search for geet.

Maan sat in front of the operation theatre waiting for the doctor to come out and tell him that Varun was fine. He couldn't let the image go out of his mind. When He and Veer had reached downstairs in front of their apartment, they had been shocked to see Varun lying on the road, blood spilling everywhere and 4 men dragging Geet and Aashi into their SUV. They had started firing to scare the men but then the bas***ds decided to take only geet pushing Aashi out and took off as quickly as they could.

He lifted his head and saw Veer walking towards him. His face looked anxiously angry. Maan got up and strolled towards him in big strikes.

"Did you find out about anything?" He asked

"I made Meera run the plate number on the system, nothing came out. They were using a fake." Maan closed his eyes in frustration. Damn it. The only lead they had led them to a dead end. Geet had been taken for more than 5 hours now. The more time they took to find her, the more danger she could be in.

Veer glanced at the operation theatre. "How is he doing? Is he fine?" His face showing his concern for his best friend who was equivalent to his brother.

"They said that the bullet pieced him below his ribs. There has been no damage to his lungs. The one he caught in the shoulders is fine." Maan answered. "They need me here in case they need more blood."

Veer sat down on the bench resting his elbows on his knees and covered his face with his hands. "I know who the f**king bas***d is did this. If he touched one hair on her head, I swear I will make his life miserable." He said with rage in his voice. Then his face changed and maan could see the desperation. The same way he was feeling now. "She must be so scared." Veer whispered. "I need to find her. I need to find her as quickly as I can." After a while he just walked out of the hospital.

How was he supposed to comfort him when Maan himself was completely disheveled? Aashi was at the headquarters. Their apartment was compromised. She was not safe over there. She would have to stay there for a long while now.

Just then the nurse came out and announced that the operation was successful. Maan was waiting for this impatiently. He just had to see his brother once, make sure he was fine and then he would go in search for geet. He couldn't imagine what condition she might be in right now. It took just a few minutes for a girl to get raped, just a few seconds to get killed and how long would it take them to put her on a plane to Mexico. Bile rose in his stomach and he wanted to throw up. They had to be quick. Or else Geet would suffer.

Geet woke up. Her head was pounding and she was thirsty. She couldn't even open her eyes completely. It was dark around her and she could feel that the room she was in was very small. She didn't even have enough space to stretch her legs. Aashi! Where was she? She ran her hand on the space besides her, trying to feel her. But there was no one. "Aashi. Are you here?" She murmured. She got no answer. She got up and searched her pockets to find her phone. They were not there.

She was scared. She didn't know where she was. The last thing she remembered was hands pulling at her, dragging her into a van. Last person she had seen was Varun's face. He was lying on the road blood spilling form his head and shot wound. Please god let him be fine.

She knew she were in some kind of vehicle. They were in motion. She sat down again as a wave of dizziness overtook her. The vehicle moved and she felt her stomach churn. It was a different sensation. You're in a damn plane girl! She took a deep breath and then exhaled. She did that continuously so that the churning in her stomach stopped and she no longer felt as if she had to throw up. She knew they were in a plane. She always felt like that whenever she travelled. Scrambling closer to the door, she tried to get it opened. But it was locked, as expected. Who the hell had taken her and Aashi? Where were they taking her? Where was Aashi? She was so scared. She closed her eyes and did a prayer. Please let Varun and Aashi be ok.

Finally he could sit in peace now. As soon as the men had whisked the girl away, he had put her on his plane and they were now miles away from Delhi on their way to Bangalore. From there they would go to Mexico. It had been a long time since he had not met his business partners. At the same time, he would present them with the most gorgeous gift they've ever had.

When his men had failed to find the whereabouts of the girl named Aashi, he had taken it upon himself to find her. It is unbelievable how money and power could make things work out. It had been tough. But in less than 3 days, he had her address and whole background. She had two brothers and they were both former armed forces. He had found her address but nothing else. There was something about this family. They lived in the shadows. There was a lot to find out about them. A smile appeared on his face. Well now the girl was going to reveal each and everything to him. He looked forward to the interrogation.
