ruthless is exactly what he is.

I think Maan wants revenge from Geet's father as he must have endured something similar. But Maan is using an innocent.

Seeing Geet's behaviour though, I wonder where she gets this quiet strength from. Could it be that her father has mistreated her also? So for Geet, she has just gone from one prison to another and that is how she knows not to show her emotions, when to hide her emotions and how to deal with Maan's cruelty.
