A month passed like in jiffy. It was strange but Mumbai already seemed like a home to Geet. There was no Sid and Meera with her but then she seemed to have made some new friends; Pari and Naina. Dev had acted like a protective elder brother to her and Pari and soon it was time for them to join the different projects under some Mentors.

True to her word Naina did make it as third and was placed under Dev and even Pari was fourth and would be under Dev as well. Geet on the other hand topped followed by Vickram, another guy from their batch.

Taking her diary she started writing:

Dear Armaan,

I have got through the exam and you know what?? I got second position. I know I know I should have topped but the other guy was really smart. I am sure you would have been making all kind of faces but I did try. See I am making the cute puppy faces.

I am kind of nervous about tomorrow. I have heard soo much about MK that an image has formed about him in my mind. Even without knowing him I don't want to disappointment him. It's my first day tomorrow as his intern. I am worried Armaan and you know me. I can't take my mind of this worry of not being up to mark. I hope , that's all I can say.

Next day it was supposed to be Geet's first day of working under MK. Geet was equally excited and nervous to be under MK. She had heard a lot about him from Pari, Dev and Naina. And the result had her facing the conflicting emotions together. Dev works in some other branch so she was alone that day. Geet closed her eyes and whispered," I wish Armaan, you were here to tell me that everything is going to be fine."

After taking a deep breath she took the lift for the top floor and was greeted by a beautiful girl who she came to know was MK's secretary. She smiled and seemed like a jolly girl. She was asked to wait near the waiting room outside MK's room. They will be meeting MK when the other intern Vikram arrives. Geet looked around and was absolutely stunned with the beauty of the place. It was not just affluence but class that attracted her and unknowingly she went out to the corridor to inspect more when she hit something solid and was unbalanced.

Geet was about to fall down and took hold of the near most support which turned out to be someone's upper arm. The other person also seemed to understand her condition and held her study. Looking up she found the same chocolate brown eyes that had always calmed her nerves and gave her a sense of security. With an amusing smile on his face Maan spoke, "Is it me or you tend to be falling down every time I come near you?"

Geet who was equally amazed to find Maan there says," I think it means you are supposed to hold me and keep me from falling down Mr. Stranger."

Maan:" Miss Song, may I know what are you doing here?"

Geet:" I am an intern here. Remember I told you that day when we met last time. In fact Mr. Stranger you never said you work here. So is MK in? I am supposed to be his intern."

Maan:"what? You are that Geet Handa?"

Geet was startled with his tone and said," That. What do you mean by that?"

Maan cleared his throat. He did not know what to explain. He was never good with words. When he had heard from Geet about her interning from his company he least expected her to be working under him. Maan knew his secret will be out in another minute and he preferred to do it himself.

Clearing his throat once again he said," Geet I did hide a fact from you but I did not mean any harm at all. My full name is Maan Khurana aka MK. You are under me."

The words shocked Geet more than anything else. She had been chatting like a friend with a person who was the owner of the company she works in.

Geet took two steps backward, closed her eyes for a minute to calm her nerves and said in the most formal tone she could master," I am sorry sir that was out of bounds. I was asked to wait in the waiting room and I will be doing that."

Geet turned and walked away. Maan could not stop from feeling bad. She did not even give him from explaining himself. Geet went back to the waiting room. She had blocked her mind from the truth and tried keeping her professional front. Soon Miss Anjali, MK's secretary came in with Vikram. Vikram passed her a nervous smile and then both of them were lead to MK's cabin.

In spite of being totally mad at for hiding his identity Geet could not help but admire the interiors. After Miss Anjali introduced them Maan started speaking.

Maan:" Good morning "

Geet and Vikram wished together," Good morning sir!!"

Maan:" We believe in keeping the environment here friendly so no sir and ma'am. You can call me MK. First of all, congratulations for topping your batch. The projects you will be handling with me will be giving you a good exposure to the business world. But I will not be easy boss. I expect punctuality and hundred percent dedications from your end. Now I want you to go back to the reception and Anjali would assign you your seats. Then you will be provided with all the reports about the company. Read through them and get to know the company. You have a week's time for this task. Next Monday I would expect a report prepared by both of you as a team about what you have learnt. I don't expect you to learn everything in a week about the company but I want a basic overview. All the very best and welcome to Khurana Enterprise."

They both left the cabin. Once the seat was allocated to them they were asked to feel certain forms related to some procedures. One hour and they got their own desktops. Vikram came and sat beside Geet. They never really talked much during their classroom trainings so Geet said with a smile,

Geet:" Hi, I am Geet. "

Vickram:" Hey, I am Vickram. You can call me Vicky. It's kind of cool."

Geet smiled. Maybe Vickram aka Vicky was not as weird as they thought him. Suddenly her cell vibrated stating she got a message. Opening up she saw a message from Maan.

Maan: " Sorry!!"

Geet: No reply

Maan:" Come on; you should give me a chance to explain."

Geet: "What is there to explain?"

Maan: "You are taking it all wrong. Give me a benefit of doubt at least."

Geet: "Maan sir, you need not explain yourself to an intern in your company."

Maan: "But Mr. Stranger needs to explain himself to his friend Miss Song."

Unknowingly a smile crept on her lips and Vicky hooted.

Vicky:" Wow!! A sweet smile, I think the love of your life had just texted you or something."

The smile of Geet's lips died as soon as it had formed as she realized painfully that the love of her life would never be able to do that again. A far away memory came back.

It had been few days of their confession and both were roaming round the school garden when Armaan suddenly asked, "Geet, what are you going to do when you grow up?"

Geet: "I really don't know Armaan. Maybe work in some multi-national company and have a mills and boons romance of my very own."

Geet began to run away till Armaan figured out what she spoke. Then Armaan caught her and twirled her around shouting," Miss Geet Handa , I will never let you have a minute to romance any other hot boss because I will be texting you every minute. How will you find time for some multi billionaire when I will never leave your mind for a minute?"

Geet laughed in glee and Armaan kept her down Armaan held her so she did not fall down owing to the twirling movement earlier. Once Geet was stable she held Armaan and said softly," Duffer, I can let go of anything just to have a moment with you. I love you too much to let go of you."

Armaan said softly," Don't love anyone so much that letting go becomes impossible. If by any chance we do have to be separated remember this Geet, I would want you to live with this smile on your lips which I had fallen for. "

Vicky's voice brought Geet back from her memories as a tear slide down the corner of her eyes.

Vicky: "Hey you look upset. Did I say something wrong?"

Geet wiped away her tear and said in a shaky voice," The love of my life will never write me anything."

Vicky: "I am so sorry... I never knew you would had a break-up"

Geet: "I didn't have a break up Vicky. He is no more. Excuse me please."

Before Vicky could even respond to her she run away trying to hide her rapidly flowing tears. Geet reached the girl's washroom and went and shut herself in the cubicle. She whispered more to herself," Armaan, moments like this will always keep on reminding me of what should have been and what I can't have!!! "

After sometime she dried her eyes and made herself presentable enough to go out. Once she reached her desk Vicky came forward and said," Geet I am truly very sorry. That was way out of bounds."

Geet smiled though her smile did not reach her eyes. She said softly," It is not your fault Vicky. I can never forget him so there's nothing to remind me about. Let's chalk out the plan about the files. Guess we need to work out together. "

Vicky understood Geet's subtle way of trying to change the topic and quickly said," Yes Geet. I figured that all together we have to read through this ten files to the very least to even get the overview of the basics. So let's divide it as five each. Then we can make the report and read the other's to get the basic knowledge. And If we have time left we can try reading through the files we did not read."

Geet liked the plan and soon they were busy having decided the parts they were supposed to be going through.

Once she was busy with her files a text popped again," Miss Song, I thought we were friends. Don't I get a chance to explain?"

Geet could not resist but let her and type the words," Fine Mr. Stranger!!"

Maybe it was not such bad day after all!!!!
