PAST :

"I kissed Maan sir.. I kissed Maan Singh Khurana!.. I kissed Maan sir!", Geet was pacing up and down chanting this like a mantra all panicked. She was still not able to digest the fact that she kissed him an hour ago.

"What have I done? Unkey barey me to pata hi he..lekin meri akal kya ghaas charne gayi thi babaji? Its true that I think something-something about him lekin.. kiss haye rabba.. ab me kya karu? Ab me unkey chehrey pe kaise dekhu? Kal tak jo bhi tha humare beech ek pal me sab kuch badal gaya. Kya karu karu? Kaash kisi se puch leti? Chalo Mira ko phone karti hu?"

She dialled Mira.

Mira : kya hua Geet?

Geet : tu kaha he abhi?

Mira : disc me hu frnz ke saath. Tu chalegi?

Geet : uffo nhi re jhalli.. tujhe pata he na mujhe shor se allergy he

Mira : tujhe to har fun se allergy he! Acha cal kyu kiya?

Geet : wo.oo.. Mira..darasal...kya tumne kabhi kisi ko kiss kiya he?

Mira : Ha

Geet : acha? Kisey?

Mira : mere doggy Bonjo ko..

Geet : uffoo me doggy ki baat nhi kar rhi hu

Mira : samaj gayi lekin tu kisey kiss karne wali he?

Geet(blushing) : nhi nhi aisi koi baat nhi he

Mira : sach bol..agar Arjun ko kiss karna chahti he to advance me bata. Tckt laga ke public show dikhaungi purey college ko

Geet :CHUP paagal! ARJUN is my FRIEND, ok! Uskey barey me aisa bolna hi paap he!

Mira : ohoo chill chill... tu jis tarah defensive ho rhi he aisa lag rha he tu kahi aur commit ho gayi he. Baat kya he Geet? Who is the kissable guy?

Geet : tu bhi na..lagta he talli ho gayi he. Me baad me baat karti hu!

Geet (self-talk) : ye Mira ne to mujhe dekha hi nhi. Phir bhi itna guess kar liya. Agar ghar me koi mujhe aise dekhenge to jhat se samaj jayenge. Kya karu? Ok, ek baar google karti hu. Have I gone mad? Lekin karne me kya harz he?"

She typed on google "how to respond after a kiss?"

What she got was a wikihow and that was really helpful. She glanced at the key points and her eyes went wide. These were the points,

1. Run your fingers through his hair and look into his eyes. It makes more contact and gets you both excited.

She imagined running her fingers through his well set hair and getting lost in his dark eyes.

Mahhhiii...

2. Go in for a second kiss but hesitate and linger before you actually make contact.

She shut her laptop without even reading the rest. This was definitely not a good idea. "Go in for a second kiss???" What were they thinking? Wasn't one enough?

Ok Geet calm down calm down! Be normal! Theek he?

She let out a deep breath and headed to the dinner table. She didn't even dare to look at Maan who was behaving as if nothing happened.

While they were having food Geet felt that Annie was staring at her lips.

Annie : Geet tumhare lips..

Geet panicked and looked at Annie.

Annie : .. lips me kuch laga hua he

Geet quickly wiped her lips. Was she doing this on purpose, thought she. From the corner of her eyes, she saw that Maan was smirking. May be Annie didn't know anything. She was eating innocently. Geet was getting furious now. First Maan kissed her and then he was enjoying her plight. She decided to confront him. After dinner, she waited for Maan near the stairs all confident. As soon as she saw him she couldn't frame any sentence let alone confrontation.

Maan : Geet, acha hua tum mil gayi. I need to meet you..umm there is something that I think you should know. Meet me in my room

Geet : ji?

Maan : abhi nhi raat ko sabke so jaane ke baad. Its kinda secret. Aur ha I'm leaving my bedroom door open dhyaan se kholna. It creaks. Raat ko zara dheere se, ok?

She stood their jaw-dropped as Maan left casually as if he had asked her out on a coffee. It took some time to sink his words in her brain. He just invited her to his bedroom??? That too at night! Secret!!!

Geet blushed as her imaginations ran wild but hold on they had not yet confessed their feelings. Ohh were they even sure about their feelings?

PRESENT:

Maan was swimming in the pool vigorously despite the chill weather outside. His body was all heated up with frustration and anger. Even thought he didn't admit it loud Maan knew that what he had done was terribly wrong. Everything seemed right until Geet's reaction. He never expected her to oppose him like that. In his eyes, she was a woman who would stoop to any level for money. And here she walked out risking her only source of income in a foreign land for the sake of her self-respect. She reminded him of the old Geet with who he was madly in love with. Or was she the same all the time and him seeing things in a wrong way. Maan tried hard to stop his thoughts going that way. He could not bear that. But one thing for sure, he had committed a terrible mistake by framing Geet.

He came out of the pool and went to gym still trying to think clearly.

Suddenly his phone rang and he answered it.

Maan : dadima, kaisi he ap?

Dadi : Maan humari chhodiye apka kya? Ye sab hum kya dekh rhe he Maan?

Maan : ap kya baat kar rhi he dadi?

Dadi : anjaan mat baniye Maan. Hum achi tarah jantey he ki ap New York project se zyada Geet ke liye gaye the ! And now I'm getting to see this! How could you do this? You are married to Pari for crying out loud Maan!

Maan knew something was wrong. While on the call, he quickly took the IPad and browsed the online page of Delhi Times and he was shocked. The buzzing hot topic was the businessman finding a lady-love in New York! Will the editor asst girl bring a rift in the celebrity couple "Maan-Pari's" love-life?? Check out for more pics" He browsed through the pics and found their pics. They were mostly taken during the shoot including the first shot of Geet in Maan's arms and especially the outdoor shooting. But they all looked like they were hanging out happily, a professional photoshop!

Maan : dadima jaisa ap soch rhi he waisa kuch nhi he

Dadi : May be thats true! You know I won't believe any of this but this is Geet! Maan..(she sighs) beta love is the most important thing in your life and you should never upset people who trust you and love you.

Dadi might have referred to Pari but unknowingly it was Geet who came into his mind when dadi said that.

Maan (self-talk) : kyu Geet se judi har baad mujhe is hadd tak pareshaan karti he? Uske paas job ho ya na ho mujhe kyu faraq padta he? Wo to apni zindagi aram se jee rhi he phir me uski tarah apni zindagi se khush kyu nhi hu? Shayad dadima theek kehti he. I could never get over her. Mujhe Geet se dur rehna chahiye. Ab agar yeha me rukh gaya to pata nhi kya kya kar bethunga! Launch promo party ke baad mujhe wapas jaana chahiye. Geet se humesha humesha ke liye dur...wahi sahi he!

[ This is my first ever attempt to write a poem(if you can call it one😳)

This depicts Maan's feelings to Geet even unknown to him,]

I am the fire that lights your life

And brings the happiness like sunshine

I help you feed, I keep you warm

I help you fight the dangers around

And then one day I burn up high

Spitting out flames like a monstrous dragon

You shrink you cry and ask for help

But today my beloved

I am the fire that burns your life

And snatch all that you cherished

And kept close to your heart

I spread and sow destruction around

And yet when I turn your world into ash

You still come to me for light and warmth

In the cold morning when you look

And cry over what you lost.

Next day in the office,

A special executive meeting was called in Pageant excluding Geet(according to the special instructions from Maan). Ramona was furious as her eyes bored onto Sasha who looked down at the floor nervously. Maan stepped into the cabin in style yet maintaining a cold expression.

Ramona stood up and said in a sincere tone, "Mr. Khurana I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused the other day. I would definitely look into the matter and make sure those who were responsible would definitely get a lesson not to repeat such horrible mistakes again in their lifetime"

Maan: Easy there Ms, the "matter" infact isn't that important as we had our shoot wrapped up in time ignoring the few extra hours ofcourse. But common, this is show biz. Such things happen, right?

Ramona : Uh.. thats very kind of you! But such things don't happen in Pageant! I mean she should have arranged for an alternative instead of walking away.

Maan : yes, she did. Infact I'm really impressed by the way your employee, what was her name?

Sasha gave a nervous grin.

Maan : yeah, Geet! She did well. It was just me. I insisted that she should complete the shoot herself. It was good that she walked out.

Ramona was getting shocked deeper and deeper as Maan spoke. Who on Earth would defend their vendor's employee like this!

Maan : umm.. I mean if she had done the shoot it would have been inappropriate indeed. I think she did that to save the project which I highly appreciate. It was my fault to ask her to do that. I was just angry because(somewhere his mind screamed because he saw her with Arjun and that refreshed his earlier wounds)..because the model cancelled. It was wise from her part to step out.

The expression on Sasha's face was worth watching and Ramona, well she probably had nothing much to say. She couldn't fire Geet after the words from Maan as it would be disrespecting the client.

Ramona : Well, in that case, I think we should get on with the next venture and that is the show stopper design exclusively by Marker. But before that I would like to inform you that even though you think Geet didn't do anything wrong I have a protocol to follow. So she is out of this project for now! Is that fine?

Maan :(probably best, thought he) Yes, no problem.

Ramona : but she will be at the party according to our earlier theme. You know it was a ball gown and tuxedo for the lady and the gentleman. And I don't think I could get a suitable replacement for her. Besides, I have the dress and invitation sent to her house already.

Maan : Why do you need a replacement?

Ramona : Well, MK we had decided that the tux and the gown would be modelled by you and Geet in the party to make a difference and giving the limelight to the people behind the screens or should I say papers..(chuckles)

The evil bells rang in Sasha's mind at that time.

Sasha : excuse me mam, I think I have an idea

Ramona : no one asked you Sasha

Sasha :but mam this could save you from bringing Geet to the party or the project

Now Maan was interested. He would do anything to be away from her now. It was probably the best for both of them, he felt.

Ramona( looking uninterested) : and what is that brilliant idea of yours?

Sasha : Well, the motto is getting the design closer to the public instead of all the "glitters" of the fashion world, right?

Ramona : yeah, so?

Sasha : so I thought why won't we let all the waitresses dress up in the ball gown?

Ramona : oh! Why did I even listen to you brainy? That would be a catastrophe. Besides, its not affordable fashion. What about the costing of about 50 show-stopper costumes?

Maan : that won't be a problem. I don't know.. whatever it takes I want to execute the plan. It would be a new step!

Ramona (surprised) : that will be a hell lot of money

Maan : I'm good. (self-thot, as long as I don't have to face Geet again)

Ramona : ok. So be it. And DON'T forget to inform Geet.

Sasha (cheerful) : ofcourse mam

As Sasha left Ramona's cabin, she called Tasha.

Sasha (with her evil grin) : imagine, jab wo Geet party me ayegi wearing that stupid ball-gown thinking she is the show-stopper and serve everyone obviously making a scene! One single mistake and the next moment Ramona will fire her. This time even Maan won't be able to help her!

Tasha : lekin Sasha, I mean mam, agar Geet party me ayegi to Ramona will sk you. You have to inform her.

Sasha rolled her eyes, " I know and thats why I called you. Do whatever you can to get to the systems guy and get the booting password of her system. I will email her and you can delete it right in her system. She would find out only if she checks the trash. And as for phone calls, I'm getting a jammer installed in her house secretly for 2 days with the help of my cousin."

Tasha : wow mam! So smart. Fool-proof plan! Silly girl, now she can kiss her job goodbye
