I just stumbled upon this story n am glad that I did... very well written and describes the social divide so well... its not about big city Vs small city mentality , its not even about educated Vs uneducated.. I rather felt it was about moral and conscientious Vs indifferent and selfish.
"Social" doesnt just mean who mingles well among others, it also means aware of one's responsibility towards society... Maan is just returning what he got from education... a lot of us get education but only a few attain the knowledge - which tells you to be conscious of returning to the society what you have got, to help the people around you to better themselves - that is the true achievement for a moral and socially responsible person. We might not be able to do good for every person we meet, we all have some binding physical, financial as well as ethical. But then if you have evn helped one person selflessly in your life, I think you have lived well.
Maan is our conscience - he is a character - yes! But he is our alter ego, one that is morally correct ethically aware and emotionally knowledgeable of selfless giving. I can very well see that it could have been a small boy instead of Geet and yet your character Maan would have behaved similar, he isnt reacting or differentiating based on gender here but reacting to the ills that plague our society. I wish you all the very best for this story. Cant wait to read more. Yes, our Maaneet will romance but I want to see a guide in Maan before I see a lover in him. That is my wish. Until now he himself was abit rudderless, now with Geet's helpless condition he has found the necessary push and I hope he is shown as a selfless teacher and guide before they start developing or sharing a lover-like relationship, though for Maan the emotions would come first due to the age difference, I would love for you to make Geet fall in love first before Maan. Not that Maan wont love her but would always be conscious of the age difference which would never let him entertain lover-like thoughts for Geet. But thats my wish, hope you take the story from one high point to the next. Cant wait to read more!!
