The Downpour... Part 30

"Dadima!!!'

Maan face color dried all of sudden and equally of Geet who was looking this sight hiding from far. Though she could not hear their talk but seen old lady's blank face and Maan frighten and she mistook it, that Maan fears of his client.

"If I'm not wrong, she is the same lady whom statue I had broken!!! Babaji, why Maan is so scared seeing her? Is she still angry because of my fault??''

She tries to hear them but till then they had been gone away inside.

"Dadi aap!!!''

"Why Maan, can't I come here?'' She said narrowing her eyes.

"When did I say this Dadi! I meant you could have called me if there was any urgent!!'' He settled in his chair, somehow hiding papers in his hand and kept them on table, but away from Dadi's eyes which, she had already seen. She sat gently on chair, observed this weird situation with her eagle eyes.

"Bt the way Maan, who is this Geet?''

Maan suddenly shocked with her question but then gained his composure. He pretended to be engrossed in laptop.

"Who Dadi?'

"The girl, whom you were shouting on Maan!!' She smirked. "If I'm not forgetting, she is the same girl who had come with you that day right!!''

"Hmm!! She is Geet'' he said without giving any importance to his words, as like it was normal for him but Dadi guessed, it was not. Suddenly her eyes caught a paper on floor, she picked it up and read "I am sorry??''

"What's this beta?''

Maan became alarmed. He knew that now this lady James bond would not leave this mystery alone, without knowing the tip and root of this case. He quickly started to turn pages of his brilliant mind and then stopped for an answer. Very casually he said,

"Wo actually Dadi, I was practicing my hand writing''

And with breathing heart he waited for her response.

Dadi expression was worth seeing after hearing his excuse but she remained indifferent. She knew he was hiding something and her Shatir Dimag was enough smart to find out truth, but without making him aware. She hid her giggle.

"You are too much Maan!! Now let me clean all this mess''

She gathered all those notes and walked to corner where had been kept a dustbin, she binned all papers before Maan could stop her. He was shocked and hurt seeing his Geet note in dustbin but controlled his overcoming emotions.

"Maan you should keep office clean beta''

Maan nodded, but remained silent. Dadi watched his different expressions, she guessed something is cooking here, but what' she would find out so soon.

"Okay Maan, I should go now. See you at dinner Beta'' Dearly she said and left.

She came out and smirked and left whereas Maan hurriedly went to dustbin and started to pick up her notes. He was feeling miserable seeing few papers were crushed and torn. And then he heard knock on door. Leaving them on spot he came back on chair and waited for visitor.

Meantime, outside Geet was restless inside her cabin, walking to and fro. She wanted to know what they were talking, if it was relating to her.

She had been waiting for Dadi leave and when found she was gone, hurriedly rushed to Maan and knocked.

After getting permission she stepped in with trembling heart. One her childish prank with her boss and second this client fear was making her nervous. As she entered saw Maan was as usual busy with his laptop. She tried to see his expression but he was successfully hiding it. She could not guess what his mood was.

Maan looked up when heard her footstep. He was not expecting her to come as of now he was not all well ready to face her. He watched her actions. She was looking nervous, twisting her Dupatta in her slick finger and was walking to him slowly and then she sat staring him and then she opened her mouth to speak something when her eyes moved to corner and it widen unexpectedly.

"Why her expressions changed suddenly, what happened?'' Maan thought and then he also turned toward the direction she was looking at and his heart felt abrupt pain when found, she was looking at her torn sorry notes. Maan looked her, found hidden tears in her eyes and disappointment also. He tried to divert her mind.

"Did you want to say something Geet''

But Geet did not reply. She was upset, controlled her over pouring emotion and stood up, saying she forgot what had to say and asked to leave.

"One minute Geet!!!'

Without wasting a second Maan stopped her, stood up and walked to her. She was waiting with dampen face, hiding her sadness.

"Geet, wo.. It's not like what you are thinking.. I mean..'' He was not getting how to comfort her.. "I am sorry!!'' Finally he said

Geet looked him in wonder then looked down.

"No sir, you don't be sorry. I know I should not have done this stupidity in office, I know I crossed my limit!'' Saying she turned and walked a step when Maan suddenly tugged her to him. She was not ready for this move, just fell on him clutching his chest and looked him in awe. Maan held her chin did not give her time to avoid his curious eyes.

"It means Geet you think I also crossed my limit?''

She was not sure where their talks were heading to.

"I never said this sir''

"You showed it!!!'

"I was scared Maan!!''

"I was also Geet. I had been very scared''

"Why!!!''

Geet watched his face, his eyes, his lips to find any clue of what he was trying to say, what he was trying to make her understand but his face was alike a mirror in which she could see her reflection only but could not find his inner emotions.

"Boliye na Maan why you were scared!!''

Maan was in deep thought should confess his love, his feeling. But what if she increases distance, he would never be able to bear her going away. He was scared with her denial, separation between them would kill him..

"Before confessing my feeling I need to know what she thinks for me. What she feel for me and then it would be better for make her understand'' He thought.

"Maan!!'' Her tolerance was melting down with every second of delaying.

"If same question I ask you Geet? Why you were scared. Why!! Earlier also you mistook me that I wanted to harm you and now again, tell me Geet why always you do this'

She felt his hold was pricking her skin on waist. His tightened clutch made her realize how much suffering he was undergoing.

"I don't fear of you!!''

She said calmly, waited him to be relax but he gained no change.

"Then why you always carry this nervousness, this hesitation with you, why you always make me feel Geet that every time I do fault not you'

"I swear Maan I never wanted you to feel like this. I never tried to make you feel any difference in my behavior toward you but don't know why it happen every time. I am not used to of this kind of life Maan I never knew these feelings which I have started experiencing suddenly. I am sacred with this changes within me, my own behavior make me show how unfamiliar I had been from my own self. I am scared Maan nothing is here that I could understand. Everything is strange happening around me, inside me and it make me feel scared''

She started feeling overwhelm, could not control her tears and it started to come out wetting her face. She wanted to have some support, she wanted to unfold her heart to anyone who would understand her, hear her. Seems Maan understood her longing, he took her slowly in his arms and made her cuddled in his embrace.
