Maan runs and picks her up in hs arms...

Maan: Geet, aakhen kolo, pls Geet, aakhen kolo

Sam: Geeet, ye kya ho gaya hai?

Maan takes her to the car and Sam follows him...

They rush her to the hospital...

What have I done ?

Patha nahi ye sab kab hua aur kaise hua?

Sam tells him that she had called earlier and then too Geet didn't answer...

She might have fainted then itself...

She had been lying there for more than two hours...

And all this b'coz of Maan's negligence...

Had he attended her calls and kept in touch this might not have happened or he could have come earlier...

He should not have left her alone like that ...

He should have answered her calls...

Oh...god ...what have I done? What did she wanted to tell me?

Was she angry with me for my behavoiur?

Was she worried about something?

What was that which troubled her?

Maan knows very well that he has been the cause of all her troubles of late...

Maan just wanted his Geet to speak to him...

He pleaded to god that she opened her innocent eyes and looked at him...

How he wished she opened her mouth and strted scolding him straight away...

But all that just didn't happen...

His Mishty has turned in to a sleeping beauty...

If it were another day he wpuld have loved to see her sleep in peace...

He would have kept admiring his sleping beauty for ever...

But not now, now all he wants is Geet to wake up and smile at him...

How he wished to hear her call him..."Maaan"...

But his Mishty has gone into silence...she is angry with him and that's why she is not speaking with him...

Geet, mujhe maaf kardho Geet, tum job hi saza doge mujhe manzoor hai, lekhin tum aaise kamosh mat raho, mujhse baat karo Geet, apne aakhen kholke mujhe dekho geet...

Meinne ktine bar tujhe chup karaya hai..."chup...bilkul chup..."

Par ab muje ye kamoshi se bahut dar lagtha hai geet...aaise chuo mat raho Geet...

Apne muh kolke mujhse batein karo Geet...

Doctors check her and she is taken to the ICU...

Doctors say that she had lost a lot of blood and her brain stopped functioning b'coz of lack of blood...

She slipped into coma...

They can't say anything before 24 hours...

They give her blood and they have to wait and watch...

Maan: doctor, Geet kaisi hai?

Doctor: hum apne taraf se pure koshish kar rahe hai, agle 24 gante ke liye juch nahi keh sakthe, ab toh sab uparwale ke haath mein hi hai, God is great...

Maan is shattered to pieces...

He tries hard to hold himself together...

Ved flashes in his eyes ...

What will happen to his son?

How would he console his son?

And what would he do without her?

Maan can't imagine a life without Geet...

From the moment he saw her she had become a part of his life, an integral part of his life that he never realized that she is another person, for him she is a part of him and though we know that we can't live wihout any part of ourselves we only realize it when that part fails to function, just like that Maan life is paralysed without his Geet...

A thousand thoughts flash in his mind...

Maan feels guilty...it's all his fault...

He had forgotten his love in his greed for success...

He has been madly chasing his dreams and has failed to recognize that his real dream is always a happy life with his lovely wife and all this mad rush has been for that only...

He has failed to realize that his biggest asset has been Geet and Geet only, her companionship, her wonderful gift of life, one he cherishes the most, their son, Ved.

After Ved came to their life everything has been changed...he has become the new dream of their life...both have been trying hard to make Ved's life happy and comfortable...

Maan has been spending his free times with his son these days...

Inbetween Maan had ignored Geet totally and didn't realize that she too needed Maan's attention and care...

Though they have been living together in the same house they had become strangers, Maan had no time for her, to admire the little things that she did for him, to admire her never ending bhak bhak...

Infact Geet tried to keep silent for a whole day to check whether that made any difference,but Maan didn't even noticed her silence...he was busy with his work as always and never missed her anyway...

Geet got fed up with his attitude and had stopped her chit chats and just answered his questions when he needed her help to find his things or when he talks about Ved...

Geet has stopped asking him questions as he just ignored them...

When there is no answer at all why waste your time and energy asking him silly questions like, why are you late? What happened to the lunch? Why didn't you call me? Why didn't you answer my calls?

How could you forget your promises to take me out?

Maan often got irritated when Geet shooted those questions towards him. Now God only knows whether he would be able to hear her again shooting those innumerable questions and will he be able to answer her again?

All these days Maan had kept running like an athlete and his world revolved two times faster.and now all of a sudden Maan feels that his life has stopped functioning and his world has come to a standstill, for his world revolved around Geet, she has been the centre of his universe, she has been the source of his energy and today his world has sunk into complete darkness without her...

He can't live without her...what will he do in a world where there is no geet?

What will Vedant do without his mother?

How will he answer ved's questions abput Geet?

Ved would ask Maan why he didn't take care of his mother in his absence?

He would say that he would have taken care of her better...

How will Maan bring him up alone?

You can't replace a mother no matter how hard you try...

Ved will come to see his mother...

That thought scares him the most...

He is a confused man now, he doesn't know what would happen to him if there is no Geet in his life...

He had never ever thought about a life without her...

The future seemed dark and scary without Geet...

Maan couldn't stop thinking about his worst nightmare...a life without Geet...

And what about his son? How is he going to take care of him ?

No matter how hard he tries he can't substitute Geet, a mother can't be replaced...

That very thought scares him...

And what about him?

What's life without your loved one?

Maan looses his confidence...he is broken beyond consolation...

His only hope is his mishty...

He knows that she won't leave him alone like him...

She still loves him the same way she used to love him earlier...

She had been loving him from the moment she knew about love and when she grew older and started realizing what love is she already knew thst she is in love...

She can't remember when she this affection and attraction started...

All she remembers is that she wanted her Maan around her always...

She wished he was there for her till her last breadth...

She just wanted her life to continue as it is...with all the love of her family and the special care and attention of her Maan...

He was there when she needed him, as a friend, as a support, as a backup, as a lover, as a mentor, and above all as a life partner, a companion in her journey without whome she wouldn't have had all the fun and joy...

As an adolescent girl when the harmones started palying with her emotions it was Maan whom she dreamt to be her partner...

She wanted to be his always...wanted to be with him and him only...

And for her Maan is her's and she started feeling possessive about him even before she knew that she loved him...even before she knew about marriage and commitment she wanted Maan for herself and she wasn't ready to atke any risk even if it was his cousin sweety...she was so jealous when she find someone with him...

And Maan never had any problem as he knew that Geet is his and she also loved him as much as he loved her even before she realized her love for him...

Infact it was Maan who nurtured that love that she began to realize and whenever she had her reservations about her feelings for him, it was Maan who gave her the confidence to go ahead and that there's nothing wrong in her feelings for him and it's always been mutual, their feelings for each other, Maan assured her that they are made for each other and though they didn't communicate their thoughts with each other they knew that their destiny is in each others hands only...

The first time Maan felt that yes she is in love with him...you may not say that it'sLOVE but just love as in you like him, you love him...

It's some function at Amritsar and the neighbors were all set out to attend that function in a tempo traveller...as usual Handaji was very excited as he has got a couple of booze friends to accompany him...

Geet and Annie dressed up pretty in their favourite attire and are also excited...

Maan ans Sam being older didn't want to go with them as they are not kids anymore and didn't want to be treated like their siblings in front of everyone...

Sam just hates when Ranno orders her and keeps saying that she is not supposed to do this and that...

Geet is still younger for Ranno to worry about...

And for Maan these weddings are for girls only with all their heavy make-ups and colourful lehangas...

It's not much fun for him without his friends company to woo girls...

His Hoshiarpur friends are still not mature enough or they fear their parents more unkile Maan...

Maan had to accompany them for his father wanted this to be a family get together...and with the Handas on board it is more fun ...

Yes it's much more fun than Maan would have imagined for this is the time he realized that Geet Handa is not just any other girl but someone very very special...and she liked him too...that's cool...

Part - 76

Maan thinks about the happy days...

Their childhood crush that took them so far and now he is left alone...

flashback...

This journey turned out to be their first date (?)...atleast Maan knew that it's a beginning of something special between the two...Geet was too young but Maan was old enough ...

Though Maan never thought that this was something serious and a bonding for life as it was still early stages for them to think about life...

Maan took the back seat along with some of his friends...

The girls wanted to occupy that seat too...

Sam argued with Maan for her right but she had no support from the younger girls...

They preffered to sit with their mothers...

The men took the other taxi...

Maan wanted to go with the men, being a man himself, but handaji made sure he ahd no disturbance for his on the way masti...

Ranno too wanted Maan to accompany handaji...

But Handaji kept him away...

So the children along with their mothers started off early...

The men had other jobs...they had to get the truck loaded with the grocery supplies for the wedding party...and their special item too...

The girls played antakshari which was boring for the boys and they asked the driver to play the music...

They wanted to dance...and there goes the music...

"EK DO TEEN..."

And the boys get up and dance...

Geet and the girls stared them as they looked crazy...

But they were enjoying themselves moving their feet to the tune...

Sam took this opportunity to sneak into the rear seat...

She called Geet and Annie too...

They sat there proud and triumphant...

After a while the boys were tired and they wanted to get back to their seats...

But they are occupied...

Maan asks them to get back to their places as they are sitting in the boys seat...

Sam says that it's not their property and they won't leave...

Maan has an idea to trick them for he knows Sam likes to dance...

Maan: tumme nachna nahi hai kya?

Sam: hum bhi nachenge

Maan: toh cahlo, nacho

Sam: come on girls, ab hum inkko dikhathe hai dance kaise karna hai

Sam was excited...she got up to shake her legs but Ranno stopped her with a glare...

Ye maa toh kuch bhi nahi karne dethi...

But her sister and Annie are still considered kids, they are allowed to dance...

And they dance...

While everyone is enjoying themselves Maan keeps staring Geet...

Geet ab bachchi nahi rahi...

He could see her feeling uncomfortable dancing infront of the boys...

Toh Geet badi ho gayi...

when their eyes meet Geet blushes...she is feeling very shy...

And Maan's devil look doesn't help her...she feels all the more shy...

Maan feels that it's strange that Geet is behaving funny while Annie is not bothered at all...

Geet bhi aaise nahi sharmathi agar Maan ussko aaise gurkke nahi rehtha...

That's the age and he just looks at her just like he used to see the other girls at school...

As Geet tries to look away and pretend to ignore Maan the driver applies the break and Geet looses her balance, she is about to fall on the laps of another boy and she felt so embarrassed, but Maan stood and caught her, he stopped her from falling...

Geet holds him tight for the fear of falling and Maan feels as is he is flying...

Maan apne aap ko sakthimaan samajtha, jaise Geet ko aaise hawa mein udthe bachatha ho...

Donno ko shock laga, aur kuch kuch hotha...

Ranno: Geet, tu teek toh haina?

Geet: haan maa

She quickly gets into her seat and never leaves it till they stop for lunch...

And at the dabba too Maan keeps staring her...

But this he doesn't do intensionaly, without his knowledge his eyes keep searching her...

Geet tries to ignore him completely as that's her best chance to survive given that she would act crazy in fornt of everyone if she pays attention to him now...

She doesn't know what's wrong with her all of a sudden? Why this embarrassment? Why this awkward feeling?

She finds it hard to swallow even a handful of rice or a piece of roti...

This Maan had done something to her, or else how would she reist her favourite khana?

She had been waiting to eat out but now she can't enjoy her food...

Whst's wrong with her ? is it Maan's fault or her fault?

Some how both of them know they have something in common...

After lunch they wait for the other van...

And as the men arrive and have their lunch the boys play cricket while the girls sit around them and watch...Annie supports her brother...come on bhai, maro sixer...

Geet keeps looking at Maan when he is not watching her and turns the other way when he looks for her reaction after a shot...she pretends not to be interested...

Maan smiles within himself for he knows she is admiring him only...

The next shot he hits near her and the kids had to act as ball boys...

Geet stants still watching the ball...

Maan: Geeet, ball

She had to throw it back to him...

She had to face his eyes which seems to be a nightmare now...

She somehow gets it back to the play area...

Maan keeps looking at her and for a moment their eyes meet and Maan's eyes twinkle as they meet...

Geet feels that he is trying to tease her...

After the lunch when they are about to start they find Handaji and a chahaji missing...

All panic for the driver is also missing, how would they reach the mandap in time?

Ranno is embarrassed and Sam too feels the same...

Geet is not aware of handaji's stunts and so she thought her father is missing...

She is scared that her father is lost...

Maan could see her fear in her eyes...

Khuranaji ask the women to move and they will come later...

But ranno is not ready to go, so she stays back...

She sends Geet and Sam with the others...

And as they leave Geet is afraid that her father might be in trouble...

She starts crying and Sam tries to console her...

Sam: Geet, ye toh roz hotha hai, tum fikar mat karo, papaji ko kuch nahi hoga, sirf humme sharmintha hona padtha, unko kuch nahi hotha

Sam is fed up with all this and she doesn't borher much...she knows he would eventually return after having his drink...

Maan asks Sam to leave...

He goes and sits near Geet...

Geet is surprised...what is he doing here?

Maan: Geet, kyun rothi ho? aaise rothe hue tum bilkul ahchca nahi lagthi? Haina Annie?

Annie: haan bhai

Geet is still somber...

Maan: tum fikar mat karo, mukjhe patha hai uncleji kahan hai?

Geet: kya?

Maan: mein ek bar unkke saath gaya tha, uncleji toh ab bahut masti kar rahe honge, aur tum toh rohti rehthi ho? uncleji ko patha chala ki unkke sherni ro rahi hai toh unko kitna bhura lagega?

Geet: kyun? Aapko ye sab kaise patha?

Maan: hare, ye mardon ka mamla hai, tum nahi samjogi

Geet: aaise kuch nahi hotha?

Maan: hotha haina?

Geet: aap joot bolthe ho

Maan : toh teek hai, ye dekho

Maan shows his biceps...he has just started his workouts and wanted to show his bisceps to Geet...

Geet looks at him puzzled...

Geet: what?

Maan: usse chooke dekho

Geet: nahi

Maan: hare dekho toh sahi

Maan holds her hand and atkes it to his biceps...

Geet feels them strong...

Maan: dekha, kitna strong haina?

Geet: haan

Maan: ab tum try karo

Geet tries but there is literally no muscles in her fragile body...

Maan touches her soft skin...

Geet tries to take off his hands from hers...

Maan : kyun? Ab toh manthi hai? Yahi mardon wali batein hai

Geet: papaji workout karne gaye?

Maan: kuch aaisa hi samjo? Tumare papaji apne takkat badane ke liye kuch medicine lene gaye hai

Geet: aap bhi medicine lethe ho?

Maan: nahi, mujhe usski koi zaroorat nahi

Geet: kyun?

Maan: tum haina? Tummare nasheele aakhen haina? Isse badiya nasha kuch nahi ho saktha

Geet is confused...

Geet: kya?

Maan: ye badon ki baat hai, tum nahi samjoge

Geet: haan, mein bewkoof hoon, mujhe kuch bhi samaj mein nahi aatha

Maan: koi shak?

Geet gets angry...

She tries to hit him...

Maan escapes...smiling for his mission is successful...

Geet is also smiling now...

Somehow they spot Handaji and hijack him from that place...

Ranno thanks khuranaji...this happens often when they go out like this, that chachaji is another alcoholic...and when they are together they have a great time...

Next day...

It's the wedding day...

All are ready but not Geet...

Geet is not happy to wear a lehanga...

She is not comfortable with it...

It's like she is wearing some funny outfit at a fancy dress...

She is wearing it for the first time know?

She is worried she might look funny in that...

Sam says that she is looking pretty but Geet is not convinced...

Her padoswale khakaji says she looks like an angel in that dress...

Annie is waering a salwar...

Geet wanted to wear her salwar only...

But since Sam's lehanga suited Geet ranno asked her to wera it...why waste such a beautiful dress?

Aksar apne bade bhai ya behen hoatha toh chote bhai aur behen ko unkke kapde pehena padtha haina?

Geet ko ye pasand hi nahi hai...par ye ranno toh manthi hi nahi...

Geet usse pehenkke bahut pareshaan hojaathi...

She justs sits in s corner while her friends sing and dance and play...

Maan is surprised to see Annie roaming around without her friend...

He asks Annie what happened to her friend and Annie tel hi about her new dress...

Maan wants to see her at once...

He searches her and finds her sitting alone...

She looks pretty like a fairy...

Aur haan, Geet ab ladhki se aurat banne ke tayaari mein hai, usski bachpana ab sirf usske dimag mein hai, lehin ye toh bad rahi hai ...

Looking at her angry face Maan doubts whether her brain stopped growing and she is till a kid, but he loves her childish innocence ...

Annie too is like that, but she is still his little sister and will remain the same forever...

Geet is not like that, he wants to see her as a friend, he wants her to grow up to his level so that he can share his feelings with her, which she would misunderstand now as she is nave and ignorant, how he wished Geet too was mature enough to realize his love for her...

There is definitely some attraction between the two which they both are aware of but the conseqences of this sudden changes and admirations are known to Maan only, Geet is still scared that this is some sin and she is not ready to express her feelings...she is trying to suppress them as they are wrong...

Though she may still be a kid going by her immature mind and innocence she is not a kid but she is into the first step of her adolescence and her body has rather taken a quicker leap ahead of her age...

Geet is already embarrassed by these sudden changes in her body while Annie and the others don't show such early changes, she is conscious about the changes and so she is feeling awkward...

And this lehanga makes her feel uncomfortble as it exploits her hidden beauty...even Ranno thought for the first time that her little girl is growing so fast...

Maan is the first to note the changes in her after Geet, who knows her better than Maan? He had this crush on her even before he knew about first crush or infatuation himself...

This is something natural and they didn't make any attempt themselves, it all happened as they grew up together...

They never had to worry about meeting each other or try to get acquainted as they are like a family and the opportunities come their way often, they get to spend a lot of time together, though they are surrounded by their friends and family they know that their relationship is different and unique, though they seemed to maintain a distance they are actually getting closer and closer, they know each other as much as they know themselves...

As Maan nears Geet, Geet becomes nervous and she looks at herself and tries to hide herself with the duppatta...and in her nervousness she struggles to correct her dress which is not proper and she doesn't know how to correct it...

As always Maan comes to the rescue...he just santches her duppatta and helps her wear it properly so that she looks beautiful and not awkward as she feels, you know how a protective brother would keep a watch on his sister's dress and want her to look perfect, just like that Maan is so protective and possessive for he wouldn't want others to see her hidden treasures...

Geet finds it hard to stand still as Maan adjusts her dress...

Maan: Geet, ye kya kar rahi ho? safety pin do

She tries to give him without making any eye contact and. she drops it...

Maan gets angry...

Maan: tummare didi kahan hai? Tumme chodke kahan gayi? Ye toh uska kaam haina? Aur dekho mein tere madat akr raha hoon, he pretends to hate helping her though he loves it, he thanks Sam for this opportunity...

Geet: aap chodho, mein kar sakthi

She snatches the pin and tries to pin the pallu...

But she couldn't...so she leaves it to the expert, MSK...

Maan keeps admiring her as she blushes...

Maan: tum yahan akhele kya kar rahi ho? bahar aao, sabke saath nachna haina?

Geet: nahi, mujhe nahi nachna

Maan: kyun? Sam ko dekha? Sab ussko hi dekhthe hai, tumme apne didi ko harana nahi hai kya?

Geet: nahi, mujhe ye dress achcha nahi lagtha

Maan: lekhin mujhe toh bahut pasand aaya, tumamri ye dress aur tum bhi bahut ahcchi lagthi ho Geet

Geet: aap joot bolthe ho, aap muje ullu banana ko koshish karthe ho

Maan: nahi Geet, scahi, iis mein toh Sam se zyada tum cute lagthi ho

Geet: nahi toh

Maan: tumme yakheen nahi hotha?

Geet: hmmm woh

Geet looks at herself...

Maan: aao mere saath

Geet: hare, chodo mujhe

Geet walks slowly which is unusual as she is used to running blindly hitting things all the way, but this dress doesn't allow her to run, she can't even walk comfortably...

Maan stares her as she moves slowly...he then offers to help her...

Maan holds her hand and takes her to the mirror...

Geet looks at herself and she thinks that she is looking pretty good, agar Maan ko ye dress pasand aaya toh Geet ko bhi pasand aayega na?

Maan admires her as she looks at her reflection and smiles at herself ...

Some guests come in and Maan hides himself behind the door...

Geet is embarrassed as they smile at her and tease her..."

"hare, isse dekho, issko abhi Dulhan banna hai:

"mera koi beta hotha toh mein isse abhi aone ghar lekhe jaathi"

"achcha hua ye bach gayi"

Maan gets angry...ye meri hai...meri Geet...

Geet stands there blinking...

After they leave Maan comes out...

She looks at him and is surprised that he is angry...

Geet: ye mein ahccha nahi laghti?

She is disappinoted...

Maan: bahut achchi lagthi ho, tum aao mere saath

He takes her back to the corner and asks her to stay there itself...

Geet is confused...

Abhi abhi mujhe kaha ki sabke saath nacho, aur ab kya hua?

Maan: tum yahi beito, Maan sits with her giving her company...

Geet: kyun? Mujhe bhi nachna hai

Maan: nahi, abhi nahi, phir kabhi

Geet: nahi, mujhe abhi nachna hai

Geet tries to get up and join the party...

Maan pulls her back...

Maan is looking serious...

Maan: tum yahan se hilne ki koshish mat karna, warna

Maan is very angry...

Geet sits back...

After a while Sam comes and takes her to the dance floor...

Geet pretends to dance but she keeps looking at Maan every now and then...

Maan is still angry...

But Geet doesn't understand why he is angry with her...poor Geet, she is upset...

Next day Maan realizes how silly he was to behave like that with Geet...

He goes to see her...

Geet won't talk with him...

Maan uses his secret weapon, Annie to bring Geet to the terrace as he always does...

Geet comes to the terrace in search of Annie...

Geet: Annie...

Maan comes behind her...

Geet turns and looks at him...she is angry...

She tries to leave...

Maan: Geeet

Geet stops...else he would stop her...

This is what happens always...she is used to this meetings and she likes them too...

Maan: tum abhi bhi naraaz ho?

Geet odesn't reply...

Maan: mujhse baat nahi karogi?

Still no answer...

She is standing with her back facing Maan...

Maan keeps inching forward...

Geet stands still not knowing what to expect...

He is very unpredictable, sometimes so sweet and sometimes so rude

But still she likes him! Why?

Now also she can just run away if she wants but she won't, why?

What has he done with her? Why is she so volatile when he is around?

Maan: achcha teek hai Geet, agar tum nahi chahathi toh mein bhi tumse baat nahi kartha

Geet turns back and shouts...: nahi, aaisa kuch nahi hai

As she turns and hits him and falls when Maan catches her and looks into her eyes...

He can see the passion in her eyes...her love for him is prominent...

Maan: tumme koi batein karne ki zaroorat nahi hai Geet, batein toh tere aankhen karthe rehthe hai, Geet

She is so embarrasses, she is caught ...now she can't hide anything...the cat is out of the bag now...the truth is out...there is nothing to hide...she blushes...

She can't face his eyes...she turns aside and runs away smiling big...

Maan knows she is happy...he is also happy...and there begins the love story of Maneet...

Maan thinks about her and the happy times when they were together...

Now his Geet is sleeping there alone, and she won't speak to him, she won't look at him and she won't listen to him either...god ...what have I done? I have lost my Geet...no...

This is so scary...

And thru out this journey Maan had never thought about anything without Geet and Geet was omnipresent everywhere in his life...his life revolved around her and her happiness...

But in his quest to fulfil his wish for future he has totally ignored the present...

Maan forgot to realize that there is no future without present...

And this incident has come as a shocker for him to stop and think about his present, about his lovely wifey about what he had before him , a lovely family and the most loving wife, he realized what he had missed all these days, his Geet's love and affection, he missed them the most, he failed to appreciate her love and he failed miserably to take care of her...
