I am the first one to reserve, last one to comment. How ironic😳

Anyway coming to more important and pressing things like the chapter, I would pre warn you that my coment would be more casual and conversational because I chapar chapar-ify a lot and don't make sense many times but hey that comes with the package. What's fun if Maggie doesn't bajaofy you with her talks and kicks?😆

It may seem like a mundane thing to forget a mere date, a day which is very important to you otherwise. Frankly speaking, though I never forgot any important days (Only B'days as of now obviously😆) I thought I wouldn't hold grudges with the other person, after all humans are bound to make mistakes and it was okay with me. I never thought it's a big deal. However, after seeing her silent pleas of asking him to sleep early today or her wishing at 12, or her waiting but never voicing out, I now understand what's the big deal really. B'days fir bhi theek hain but a day which two of you share, and is important for both of you, when one forgets, it's normal to feel hurt about it because somewhere you have this feeling that may be you aren't that importan, or maybe the importance is fading.

He reminded me of HR from Zindagi na milegi dobara. There's this scene where he says he'dretire when he's some 45 something, and later all the time he could spend with his family for which Kat says what's the guarantee that you'll live till that age of yours my friend?

Frankly that's an interesting thought, there's no "Save it for tomorrow" We all know tomorrow never comes. Just like she takes time in spending some quality moments with you, kids and other family members apart from her work and daily chores, it's only natural for her to expect you to reciprocate the same.

I am liking this Geet more and more, somewhere she reminds me of me. Two years back on my b'day I was walking home. There was this muh bulawa bhai, mera chota bhai whom i know since he's a child. He wished me good morning and all, but hadn't wished me on my b'day. I replied to hsi wishes sweetly but didn't tell him anything. I waited all day, and next day when he came home I told him it was my b'day y'day and he was like Di, why didn't you tell me yday for which i told it was your job to pick up the hints idiot😆

Thanks for the update Doc🤗

--EDIT--

First of all, apologies for the delay in commenting. I've been a bit busy and I wanted to read and comment on everything with a peaceful mind, hence the delay...

What a chapter! Two different times, two different situations, two different moods of a single man. The way you've written it all is soothing yet it makes me want to read more right at this moment.

We often take things and people for granted. Or so we like to believe. We forget events, we give our loved ones lesser and lesser time, we commit mistakes. But if you see it the other way around, who do we do everything for? Who do we work like a slave for? For them - our loved ones. It's the thought of giving our loved ones a comfortable life that makes us go to the extremes of hurting those very people we slog through day and night for. The same has happened with Maan. It wasn't that he took his family for granted, it was their present wishes that he took for granted. His intentions weren't to hurt them, he probably thought that his family understands it all. But alas, many a times, such cases close with heavy hearts, tears, regrets, guilt and pain. Drowning himself in work to the T was the first mistake Maan did. His second mistake was 'let it go'. He let his instincts take a back seat whenever he felt something wrong. If he had only asked what was on his wife's mind for the three times that he had that feeling, things wouldn't have gone so drastically wring. She might've complained then, be disappointed, cried but at least she would've let it all out. She would've talked about her expectations instead of trying to convince herself that she's fine with her husband's forgetfulness, which later only accumulated inside her heart and burst out at another time.

The pain, the guilt, the regret he feels right now is just very heavy. It's making me feel a little burdened. I'm desperately waiting for that little ray of hope to shine through the dark blanket of sky covered with twinkling stars..

Thanks for updating Onir! Will be waiting to read more. 🤗

When the clock struck 12, dread began to grow in me. I could sense that he had forgotten something, something very important and it frightened me for both of them. As the expectations she exuded came out across the screen, I grew tenser because I could already see in my head and feel in my heart the emotional fall out that would happen later in that day. It's such a "funny" coincidence that I'd been speaking to myself of the dangers of expectations. If I remember correctly, I said "Expectation is the death of a heart." The disappointment is the slow poison of the disease "Exspectatio". Your depictions of the moments before the catalyst, and the vividness with which you wrote it was done fantastically.I felt every moment, and lived every second. Thank you for another phenomenal reading experience.

P.S. The foreshadowing executed throughout the chapters so far was very nicely done.

what did he forget her birthday or their anniversary...no men can be rally stupid sometimes...work is important but you can wish her once...that's not much expected...husbands tend to take their wives granted after wedding...so girls don't let them do that with you

thx for the amazing update waiting for the storm
