Thank you everyone for your likes and comments, your support is always appreciated. As most of you will be aware of, I never reply to comments on short stories - because I want to let the updates themselves do the talking. On that note, here's part 2. Enjoy :)

Part 2:

A moment of silence passed between them, and then her hand struck his cheek with all the frustration and heartache that was simmering inside of her, clawing to be released.

He opened his mouth to protest but she shoved him aside; however his reflexes were too quick for her and he deftly grabbed her upper arm, causing him to crash into his chest.

"Let go of me," she gritted, beating at his chest with her fists, the hot tears threatening to thrust from her pupils.

"Geet, will you just stop for a second?" he pleaded, but she continued, until he grabbed her shoulders and shook her back to sanity.

"I'm sorry," he said, his hand moving up towards her cheek to caress her but she turned her face away in retortion.

"No you're not. This is what you wanted all along."

"I never wanted to see you so hurt and broken."

And then the barracaded tears flew, like a stream on a spring day, and it broke his heart to see her so shattered.

Her legs almost gave way with the pain that was consuming her whole - did she want to sink to the sand in defeat? Did she want him to hold out his hand and help her stand back up on her two feet, or did she want him to sink beside her and hold her close until the sun of another day gave her the clarity she craved?

He wanted nothing more to engulf her in his hold, to let her forget her pain as she buried her face in his neck, to let the tightening of his arms around her body protect her from all the evils of the world.

But his fingers fisted into his palms as he was well aware that he couldn't be the one to bring her peace, especially as he had been the one to place her in her desolate situation.

Almost as if she read his thoughts, Geet's tear stricken eyes met Maan's pained ones.

"Why did you have to kiss me all those years ago, Maan? I was your brother's wife, for God's sake!"

Whoa!! I wasn't expecting this! Geet was his brother's wife?! Does that mean it's not from Maan that she's getting divorced? Only two parts and I'm already into this! Really intriguing! Thanks for giving the update so quickly. 😊

Wow,shocking!maan's brother's wife. Is she getting divorse due to maan's kiss?what major role that kiss play in their life? Very curious to know. Superb update continue soon.
