At right time Geet entered n interrupted before the servant could answer Meera's query. Eat these. She said placing a plate on the table. I made these cookies. And behind her other servants brought almost a dozen of other plates.

No. Karan stopped before she could leave again n pulled her to sit with them. You think we were in some jail all these days that you are bringing us so much to eat.

What's your husband's name? Meera asked suddenly, her eyes hard n probing while Karan popped a whole cookie into his mouth. He is Khurana. What's his name?

So the dreadful moment had come. I.. His name is R..ajat Khurana. Geet stuttered wishing to be better at lying but with Meera she couldn't help feeling scared n intimidated.

Meera raised a brow. And may I know how you agreed to get married so suddenly without feeling the necessity to even inform me, asking is a far away thing.

These are seriously yummy. Karan said picking one more cookie. The atmosphere was too tensed for both the girls to hear him.

Actually, I met him n he was good. Rajendra uncle said n' I' n I- Geet wasn't looking up n just blabbering. Karan pitied her condition.

What does he do? Where is he?

He has a business. She stated meekly as sweat rolled down her forehead. He is in office right now.

Aaa. Karan comically pulled at his hairs. Meera will stop doing that? Meera gave him an exasperated glare. Don't interrogate like she is some terrorist. Geet why don't you kick her ass?

Geet smiled, sighing inwardly.

You are an idiot. Meera said with her trademark expressionless face which Karan found funny n cute. Hehe, he knew he had gone mad in her love.

Not as much as you. And if you again started torturing my first love I will not leave you.

Geet giggled lightly; every time Karan called her first love Meera practically started burning green. That's why he did it again n again.

Meera gritted her teeth. Karan don't angry me.

OMG' When I asked you to see Rowdy Rathod with me you denied n now you are copying Akki's dialog. Very bad!!

There comes the filmy Karan. Geet thought shaking her head.

Nope. Anyways I am going home Meera. I am sleepy. He yawned. You never get tired but I am a human not machine so I am going. Are you coming or not?

I will stay with Geet some more. She said n Geet was now more worried, if that was possible. Without Karan there won't be anyone to save her n what if Maan came back. Take the car n ask the driver to bring it back.

Okay. He stood up n leaning down kissed Geet's cheek. Bye MY FIRST LOVE. He smirked when Meera growled n practically ran away not before placing a fast kiss on Meera's cheek too.

They talked n talked after Karan left though the tables had turned now Meera spoke more n Geet listened. Geet loved hearing about Meer's work, her tours, further plans, the tales of her success n Meera told Geet everything because she wanted to spend more time with her. As far as she could remember they had been together n she was habitual to her. This thing she realized six years ago when they actually parted n though she found Geet later she never got the same friend back.

Geet couldn't express how happy she was having Meera with her after so long but as time passed her nervousness only increased overpowering the glee. What if Maan came before Meera was gone? She couldn't ask Meera to go also because then she would understand that something was wrong; Geet already knew that Meera didn't completely-or even a bit-believed in whatever she told her.

It was still not time for Maan to come back yet, still she was fearful. Sometimes he came back earlier because of Jia. What if, today was one of those days?

Geet lets go to your room. Meera said n Geet understood that she was doing it purposely.

Yeah. Wait a sec. I will be back in a minute then we'll go.

She came upstairs. She couldn't take Meera to Maan's room because there were Maan's pics n also there wasn't any belonging of Geet n she couldn't take her to her own room because to go there first they would have to either pass Maan's or Jia's room n also her room wasn't appropriate for a couple with a small bed n all. Meera would know in a blink that she lived in that room alone. But there was a guest room leaving two rooms besides Maan's down the hallway.

Geet took some belongings from her room to the guest room. She hurriedly scattered some medicines n things on the side table, few cosmetics on the dressing table n some petty clothes here n there. She had also taken one shirt of Maan from his room threw it across the chair n placed a few office files on the table. Now it looked like a room shared by a man n women, husband-wife she didn't know. She intended to keep his things back into his room once Meera was gone, only it required Maan to come after Meera's departure. Wishing that Meera wouldn't see through her deception, she came downstairs.

Come on Meera lets go. She said with a smile n Meera followed.

So this is your room? Meera asked as they entered Geet n her 'fake' husband, Rajat's, 'fake' room.

Yes. She answered softly trying to be as believable as possible.

Hmm. Looking all around Meera sat on the bed. I want to meet Rajat. When he would be coming back?

He.. He comes late at night.

Oh. And how is he? I mean is he the same, like you had expected when you agreed for this' marriage? Meera asked trying to gauge Geet's expressions.

He is different from what I had expected. She answered truthfully sitting beside Meera. But he is nice. And he actually was taking of her lately, for some anonymous reason.

Accha. Meera sighed. May be she was just worrying for no reason, doubting her own father n best friend. Why would he get her married to Maan n why would Geet agree to get married to that man who ruined her entire life?

So you are happy, right? Meera asked looking into Geet's eyes.

Geet smiled sadly. I can never be happy, Meera. You know that.

Meera kept a hand on Geet's shoulder. You have to forget him Geet. It was like the hundredth time Meera was saying this. He ditched you, cheated on you. He would have married that girl or someone else; I don't know n would be having kids by now. Geet smiled at the irony of the statement. Yes he was married n had a daughter only his wife was dead n now she was forced on him. For how long you would sulk and weep over him. You are the one stuck, suffering for no reason. Move on Geet, get over him.

I can't. Geet said n not because he was there with her living in the same house but because she loved him as much as she hated him n because she was, would be always his n only his. I love him n' you know I am married to him.

To hell with that marriage. I am sorry to say but you talk like a fool. That was not a marriage Geet. Just filling your mang is no marriage.

Yes it is for me. Geet stated furiously. She n Maan were married with all rituals n customs but that didn't matter to her. It was the night six years ago when he was drunk n had filled her mang that she considered her marriage because that was the time when he loved her, at least she thought so. That time she was his n he was hers. And, that was what she believed-more of fascinated-and cherished all those years when he was not with her.

It was only when she came to KM that she knew that he was actually married to Shreya but she couldn't let go of that belief. That marriage was a lie but her biggest truth. She had gone through so much to keep that false truth intact n couldn't let go of it ever, she would die with it. Yeah, she was mad and that was why she needed a psychiatrist, medicines n tears. She had learned to live with it n was now habitual to this agony, so no regrets. You won't understand. But he would always be my husband. I can never forget him even if he did long back.

Meera glared at her insane friend. Sometimes she wished to have got some trick or machine to just brain wash her, may be then she could be happy. Bad luck there was nothing that could erase bad memories n peoples, Geet was the best example of the miseries that came because of it.

It was evening when he looked down through the window of his cabin. He was exhausted in every possible way but his work wasn't complete' well, his work was never complete n he preferred it that way but in between he knew that Jia needed more of him.

Staring at his wrist watch he decided to head home. There was nothing that much important left to do n the office was already almost empty.

He reached home n was walking towards his daughter's room to meet his princess when two voices caught his attention from one of the guest rooms. One was Geet's he could tell. The door was left ajar n the other face with Geet seemed familiar. Realization dawned n he recognized her. There was no mistaking of that nearly expressionless face n practical, hard voice though her hairs were longer now. She was Meera.

So, you are happy, right? He heard Meera ask n after that there was Geet's gloomy voice answering. I can never be happy, Meera. You know that.

Then he heard the whole conversation. He was shocked the nagging feeling again there from when he had visited the motel room where Geet had stayed, like he was forgetting, skipping something very important. He tried to remember. Faint words echoed in his head.

I am already married.

It's not legal though n we are not together now but I still... I mean I cannot give you what you want.

I cannot be your wife.

This was what she had said on their SR. He was bewitched hearing her voice after years n the thing conveniently slipped out of his mind. How could he hadn't pay attention to something like that, how could he not remember? She was already married.

She didn't love him because she loved someone else.
