PART 7

Maan was returning from the airport, walking towards his Mercedes when he was reminded of the walk from his office to the station in Mumbai.

FLASHBACK

He was walking to the station in evening to catch the train when he again met her. They smiled at each other and started walking together.

Maan:Hey'We didn't had any introduction till now so let's start with the names. Hi I am Maan Khurana.

Geet:Hi I am Geet Handa.

And both shook their hands.

Geet: Now my turn' tell me something about yourself like what work do you do in office?

Maan: I am Senior Architect in the company. Joined almost 4 months back as a Junior Architect but got promoted just a week ago. What about you?

Geet: Okz..so you are my senior. I just joined last week as Secretary to the Boss. So don't have much in my piggy bank to share with you about office.

Both smiled at each other.

Maan: So where do you live?

Geet: Kandivali and you?

Maan: Guess I am your neighbour then, I live in Borivali.

Geet: Great. You too take the local to commute?

Maan: Yup. Hope you don't mind giving me a company today.

Geet: Not at all. Actually I must be thanking babaji to provide me company so soon so that I don't get bored going back home. You know I have been pestering babaji a lot these days to find me a company. Thank you babaji for making my wish come true so soon. You are the best!!!

And yet again both smiled at each other and started walking. Listening all this Maan was reminded of the girl he saw in the local last week.

Maan: By any chance do you happen to be the same girl who was last week cribbing to babaji in the local to have forgotten her umbrella when it was raining heavily outside?

Geet: Ya. But how do you know. Wait a minute, are you stalking me?

Geet was looking at him accusingly while Maan could not stop laughing.

He somehow controlled himself and asked her amused.

Maan:STALKING??? Seriously geet you are something'just now we had our first formal intro n you yourself said that I am your senior'And this is what you have to say???

Geet shrugged and they again started walking. Soon they got into a local together.

Geet: By the way if you knew I was in a problem, couldn't you help me. I m sure you had an umbrella, right?

Maan(confused): Ya'but how could have I helped you, I didn't even knew anything about you.

And anyways even if I would have tried to, do you think you would have let me help you? I am sure you would have got me beaten black and blue by the crowd then and there saying I was bothering you.

Geet(thinking): Hmm''probably yes. But still you know what I had to go through that day?

Maan made a questioning face

Geet: I HAD TO DRY MY DRESS AND HAIR BY THE HAND DRYER IN OFFICE RESTROOM TO ATLEAST MAKE MYSELF PRESENTABLE!!!

And you remember me running into the elevator?

Maan nodded

Geet: It was because I had already made a bad impression on sir by being late on my first day due to that drying myself and all so wanted to reach office before time.

Maan: And here because of you I was checking my watch to see if it had stopped thinking I was late that day.

Both started laughing.

END OF FLASHBACK

Maan was brought back to present by continuous ringing of his cell. He picked it up and shouted.

Maan: ADI!!!

Adi(sensing irritation in maan's voice): Oh god' Not again!

Why do I only have such a wrong timing?

Why do I always have to be the one who gets this golden opportunity to wake up the great MSK from his dreamland!!!

Maan: Enough Adi.

(SARCASTICALLY)By the way'..When you have already woke me up with your symphonic voice, will you please oblige me by telling me the purpose of such beautiful intruption?

Adi: Oh yes sir. Actually Mr. Mehra said that the person about whom he told you in the last meeting will meet you today around 3 pm.

Maan: Ok'I am coming in a while.
