Part-19

"What to do? Which one'"

Geet was taking her own sweet time to decide what she should wear. Sasha & Pinky had already left for office & Geet knew she was late. Finally she had chosen what to wear. She stood in front of the mirror & looked at herself. Geet never had any reasons to be conscious about how she looked but that morning she had'She had been thinking wholly about Maan the entire while. It was not new since past two weeks but after yesterday night'she felt an unexplained joy inside' She even blushed at times surprising her self at her own behavior. Though she told herself that the previous night was an illusion, her heart chose not to accept'

So here was Geet sitting in front of the mirror making very very sure that she looks perfect. Then she went on to wear ear-rings at the same time gazing at her red cheeks.

"Finally I got to know why do you have an unbeaten record of being late in office!"

Geet was sweetly shocked to see Maan's reflection in the mirror standing behind her. She immediately got up & faced him.

"Aa-aap yahan??????"

"You are anyways beautiful then why take so much time to dress up?"

"N-Nahi'toh'aap galat samaj rahe hain.." she was at at a loss for words.

"Achcha?" he asked her teasingly.

Geet stammered seeing him keenly looking at her "Woh'I usually get up late but'today I got up early so..so that I can look better than any other day'"

Did she defend herself by saying that, Geet wondered.

"Why? Is there anything special today?"

He advanced towards her with a glint in his eyes. Not knowing what to say she began to walk backward.

"Bolo na'is there something special?"

"N-Nahi'" she glanced sideways.

"Look into my eyes & say!"

He was nearing her every second. She tried to look at him & her heart beated heavily from inside. Finally he pinned her to the fall, making absolutely sure there are no gaps between them.

"Are you doing all this for me?" he threw a direct question.

She saw his eyes desperately looking at her seeking an answer. She was in dilemma whether to accept or refuse'

"Bolo Geet..you are doing this only & only for me & no one else!!!"

"N-Nahi'aisa kuch bhi nahi hai'"

He eyes turned more desperate which had a direct effect on her heart strings. He pushed himself more on her.

"Then for that Sameer!!!!!" his eyes turned lava.

"N-N-Nahi Sir..woh--"

"Don't call me Sir!!!!! I can't bear it'" his heat from his nostrils thrashed her face'

"S-Sir'n-noo'Maan Sir'nahhi..Maan'"Geet felt herself completely smashed between him & the wall. She knew he could clearly feel her heart throbbing hard. Besides, the intensity of his eyes made made matters worse for her'She decided to let go'

"I want your eyes always & always on me I can't see you looking at anyone else you are mine you are only mine!!!!!"

She said it in one breath. Maan refused to budge still. Instead, he was looking passionately at her. His lips, which were already close to hers, were pushed an inch more closer'the heat radiated from them melting hers'He inched all the more closer'She squeezed her eyes shut knowing what was to come in the very next fraction of the second'But the next moment it was all gone'the air around her resumed normalcy & her eyes opened to see herself alone in the room'She was extremely stunned to realize that she was dreaming'but her heart still throbbed'

"Geet'what extremes were you thinking!!!! Aur woh bhi itni..itni subah.. "

She glanced at the clock who told her she was super-late. She quickly resumed normalcy & rushed from her room. But while descending the staircase of the building, her again blushed rethinking about her day-dreaming..

Namkin si baat hai, har nayi si baat mein

Geet strongly felt everything had drastically changed & she was confident that this gut feeling can never betray her'& she received yet another sweet shock to strengthen her feeling when she saw Maan waiting in his car outside the building'.Geet stared at him wide-eyed. She was about to trip & fall thinking she was again dreaming but Maan deftly surged forward & caught her in his steel arms'..They shared the most intense eyelock which they had never shared before'.Geet resolved that he was there in reality, else by this time she would have hit the ground with a thud'. Maan, on the other hand, too was confirmed of her longing feelings for him'

He swiftly straightened her. She immediately glanced sideways adjusting her dress properly.

"Sit in the car!"

"But--"

"Now please don't start that rickshaw-frontseat-backseat stuff , we are already late for office, aur late nahi hona!!"

They both sat in the car & Maan started to drive.

Geet all the while stared at him while he reluctantly concentrated on the road.

"You are not angry that I am late, aap hamesha hote ho'"

"I don't know of other days, but I am glad that you are late today'"

He smiled slyly, "else you wouldn't be here now with me!"

Geet still kept staring at him. Maan could sense that with the corner of his eyes.

"Kya hua? Mujhe aise kyun dekh rahi ho?"

"N-Nahi'kuch nahi'" She instantly looked away, "woh toh I was seeing the scenery on that side of the road' "

She bit her lips hard. Maan smiled.

"Ab aur der nahi karunga Geet'pehle hi I have taken lot of time to sort out my love for you..ab aur nahi'today itself I will confess to you & make you do too, then no hesitation, nothing!!!!!!"

He tightened his grip around the steering wheel & drove the car faster'

They were along the forlorn entrance of KC with Maan staring at her while Geet stole glances to see him'His eyes located a secluded corner & without any prior notice.he pulled Geet there pinning her to the wall.Geet breaths halted as they digested his sudden proximity'

"Geet'mujhe tumse kuch'kehna hai'"

Her mind went blank hearing him. She unconsciously moved her hands to touch his face'She slowly slipped her palm from his temple to his cheeks'.

"This is real'Maan is seriously there'this time I am not dreaming'"

He closed his eyes to feel her touch..which he was craving for'She slowly took her hand away with him again staring back at her'

"I wanted to say ki I'"

He inched more closer..

"That I'"

Her blood turned warm & her heart stopped troubling her, waiting to just hear whatever he wanted to say'

"Main yeh kahana chatatha ki'"

"Main yeh kahana chatatha ki main tumse--"

They were interrupted by Maan's phone ring. He had to reluctantly part from her. Geet stabilized herself while Maan ruefully looked at the screen. It was Adi

"Kya hai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???"

Maan's harsh voice terrified Adi at the other end.

"S-S-S-S-S-Sir'woh..S-Sir'."

"Be quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Adi received another jolt. "M-M-Meeting Sir'.meeting'"

"Meeting??? Which meeting????"

Hearing him emit the word, Geet's eyes turned wide & mouth opened in 'o' shape as she recollected something important. There Adi was stammering, so Geet snatched the phone & said to Maan dramatically.

"Aapko 365 days main, yahi din mila tha late hone ke liye?? Mr Mehta must have arrived long back. You have such an important meeting with him!!!!!"

Maan finally remembered. How can he forget? , he asked himself.

"You are still here???? Gooo"

She had to push him a little. For the first time ever, Maan was reluctant to attend an important meeting'

Geet had been waiting very patiently from the past couple of minutes for Maan's meeting to get over. She was in her own world but conscious enough to hide the redness of her cheeks.

"What had he wanted to say???...Will he say it again???"

She was restless, very restless. Unconsciously, she walked in Maan's cabin instead of hers. When she realized, she was quick to correct herself.

"Kya yaar! Maan ke cabin mein aa gayi?"

She was just departing when she saw a photo frame which was almost fully hidden by a file.

"Kiska photo ho sakta hai?? Because Maan never keeps anybody's photo & that too on his desk!"

She sided the file & to his utter surprise her eyes met her own photo!. She held the photo frame in her hand feeling it really tough to believe what she was seeing. She at once blushed.

"Iska matlab Maan'See, I was right!."

She became more restless now to hear him speak'.

On the other hand, Maan was just done with his meeting. He didn't know Geet was there in his cabin.

It had been a while now. Geet was waiting patiently for him. The meeting should have got over by now, she wondered. Just then the door pushed & in entered Maan'Their eyes met. Geet was nervous'She looked away for him. Maan was a little surprised to see her in his cabin, but happy that he could tell her what he wanted to say'

He walked towards her. She stood there grounded glancing sideways'

"Geet' mein tumse' yeh kehna chahata tha ki---"

He was about to hold her hand when again the phone rang'They again intruded'Maan was angry'He put the phone on speaker mode'& the voice they heard'shocked both of them'

"Maan'.I am trying to call you since when!May be you were busy in some meeting.."

"Dia?"

"Ofcourse! Why are you so shocked?"

Maan looked at Geet. Her face had already changed & she looked numb & shaken'

"Maan, I am really really really missing you. I know you are sad. Because of me, our engagement couldn't take place. But mein kya karu, I had kept fast only & only for you' "

Maan didn't quite hear what Dia had said. His eyes were staring at Geet, not knowing how to handle the situation. Geet felt herself shattering to pieces'Her body was paralysed.

"Maan, I will be back after three days. I don't know how will these three days pass' I love you very much Maan'love you so much'"

Geet, with all her strength, was able to move her numb legs. Maan saw that the immense glow which she had on her face had deteriorate. Geet was walking out of the cabin'Maan wouldn't let her go.

"Dia, I will speak later. Bye."

He cut the call abruptly & rushed towards Geet.

"Geet, don't go! Please!"

Geet stopped. Maan turned her to face him. Her face was white. He held her hand gently.

"Geet I--"

"You should have spoken to Dia, she is missing you." She pulled her hand back

"Geet tum-"

"I must go."

She tried to depart but Maan stopped her, clutching her wrist.

"Leave my hand."

"I won't!!!" he said with finality.

She tried to free herself but he yanked her closer, encircling his hand around her waist & holding her tight.

"Geet! I know you are hurt but--"

"I am not hurt & I shouldn't have come to your cabin nor I should have heard you personal conversations.."

He was hurt by her words. He shook her closer tightening his grip around her.

"There was nothing personal in that talk!! Nothing!!!!"

"Let me go!! "

"Look at me Geet!! Look into my eyes. You clearly know I have nothing to do with Dia!!!"

"Leave me!!" she did not look at him

Tears were building inside her as she tried hard to wriggle out of his hold. He couldn't bear to see that. He forcefully pinned her to the wall caging her completely. Geet could feel him him in every inch of her being smashing his body against hers. His determined eyes met her grieved ones.

"Why are you doing this'" she asked helplessly.

"You clearly know why!!!!"

"Let me go'.!!"

"I can never ever let you go!!!!Samjhi tum!!!!" his hot breath fell on her face which evaporated the tear which was about to fall from her eye.

"Mere dil mein jis ladki ne jagah bana li hai woh--"

"I don't want to listen anything!!!"

"You have to listen because it concerns you! Only & only you!"

"No! It doesn't! It'It should not!!!"

She squeezed her eyes tight, not letting any tears to fall.

"I want to go Maan Sir'please'"

"Don't call me Sir!!!!!"

"You are my Boss! We have no other relation except a professional one!!"

He was shocked at her aloofness. Tears trickled down her eyes. His hands let go off her. She ran out of the cabin controlling her tears'.

"Wow Miss Geet Handa! Excellent!" she was seated in her cabin, "Dia loves Maan very much & you want to break her heart which is yearning for his love since long!!!? Which world were you living in??? You clearly know Maan can never be your because Dia is most suitable for him!! If Maan comes to know of your forged certificate then do you even know what will happen??!!!"

She remembered what Preet had said.

"Be aware Geet! Maan should never come to know about the forged certificates!"

"Accept Sameer & just leave KC. That will be much better for you!"

The rest of the morning passed uneasily for both Maan & Geet. She tried hard to remain aloof from Maan & she almost succeeded as Maan had been really busy that day'He wanted to talk to her but simply couldn't. For the first time ever, he hated work as it came between him & Geet.

During the lunch-break, Sasha found Geet's behavior to be strange. She cringed when all of the girls talked & drooled over Maan, which was not a new thing'Her words conveyed possessiveness for Maan while all the girls had noticed. Though everyone had taken it jokingly, Sasha didn't'..

"Kya ho gaya hai Geet tumhe!! Batao mujhe!!"

"Nothing Sasha! Today I will return late to the PG. Sameer is taking me for dinner. Tumhe toh pata hi hai."

Geet walked away. Her expressionless puzzled Sasha'

"Kuch toh hai & I will defo get to the bottom of it!" resolved Sasha.

Just after the lunch break, Maan was able to corner Geet. But she was in no mood to listen & walked away from him. Her hesitance & reluctance towards him was making Maan more determined than ever'

Come evening & still Maan was not free! He had one last meeting scheduled for that day. But while he was about to enter the conference room with Rahul, a glance through the window glasses & Maan received a shock! He saw Geet getting in a car escorted by a tall man. Maan deduced it to be Sameer'.!.

"Rahul!! Meeting cancel kar do! I am not attending!"

Rahul was stunned at what he had just heard. Never in his dreams had he imagined that Maan would refuse to attend a meeting & that too at a last moment!

"But Sir--"

Rahul followed Maan up to his cabin.

"Maine kaha na meeting cancel kar do!!"

Maan grabbed his car keys & was hurrying to depart.

"But Sir mein--"

"If you don't want to cancel, conduct the meeting on my behalf! I am sure you will handle it perfectly!"

Even before Rahul could react, Maan was gone'.
