"Sasha... I mean ma'm, you didn't know what happened?"
"What" Sasha asked looking rather frustrated?
"I think DD came to know about our plan"
Sasha looked at Tasha bit confused "what plan?"
"The one of whose result is you became his wife"
"Rubbish…"
"No, I overheard him talking to Adi about bringing…"
""what?"
"Let me complete... about bringing geet back to office"
Sasha on hearing it became stunned, her face pale, she looked at Tasha in a vain hope of she cracking a joke but it wasn't any joke and what she heard was right. Bewildered she looked at her for more information but all she got to say was said.
"No way, MK can never see through that the circumstances which made him marry me was created by us, we made it look so natural that even I doubt at it being created"
"Whatever now that behenji is coming back to office"
Out there in Karol bagh pinky and Geet were shopping, pinky saw that Geet was looking unusually happy and fresh and felt really happy for her friend. Never in past five years had Geet smiled so freely and never had pinky seen this carefree laughter of hers. For a while pinky stood there looking at her friend, but then Geet pulled her hand and made her walk with her bringing her back to senses.
"Oh Geet... you look so good today"
"The day is so bright and beautiful, so everything will look good"
"Oye Geet, let's have some sandwich, you get the best sandwich over here"
"Yeah, even am hungry"
They both got into a small caf like shop and ordered for two grilled cheese sandwich, while they were waiting for sandwich pinky was wondering on how to open up a conversation to Geet asking her about her plans for future. Pinky never wanted Geet to sit upset thinking about her past; she always wanted Geet to move ahead in life. She knew nothing is as easy as one says but thinking practically how long can one sit longing for a lost past. But never she had the courage to face Geet with these questions, she didn't know how Geet is going to take in them, will she be more upset or will she see through the light and today pinky thought to be the best day to ask since Geet was happy like before, in Geet pinky saw the old Geet who was once lost, but feared imposing those questions what if they could break the happiness of Geet. She was wondering on how to ask and on whether to ask. Pinky in this skeptical state didn't see the sandwich being arrived.
"Pinky, pinky, oye pinky" Geet was calling her.
"Yeah Geet, oh sandwich..." she took in the sandwich and thought of postponing the task of asking Geet and started munching in the sandwich.
"What were you dreaming?"
"Dreaming? Me? Ah nothing Geet…"
Suddenly pinky's phone rang, with a jerk pinky fully came back to her sense; she looked at her phone screen and saw 'Adi sir' flashing. She wondered why suddenly a call from office, she has taken permission for a week's leave. Pinky never goes to office whenever Geet comes to stay with her. So was bothered by the call, she excused herself and walked out of the caf to speak.
Geet was wondering on what happened to pinky, why suddenly out from nowhere pinky is behaving oddly.
Within ten minutes pinky came back, and looked more worried. Geet noticed the change in expression of pinky and suggested her to go back home. Geet has always seen pinky happy and spreads around happiness to all around but now it seemed like something is bothering her and she felt like she did wrong by making her shop with her, may something really serious was troubling pinky so she suggested to go back home to which pinky happily agreed.
Their way back home was rather silent, Geet was worried about pinky and pinky about Geet, pinky knew Adi is now at home waiting for them and was really scared of Geet's reaction on seeing him and more of what would Geet say on hearing what Adi has to say. All this was indeed worrying pinky.
They reached home and Geet noticed that pinky is taking slow steps towards home as if is afraid of something is there inside the house to trouble her. This time Geet wanted to be the savior for her friend and pulled her hand and started making her way towards the house rather fast.
"Arrey walk fast pinky" and pulling her hand she opened the door to see pinky's father sitting and chatting with a guy. Geet first thought may be someone came to see pinky since of lately her father has been talking of her marriage and she smiled at her thought but then another creepy thought irked in Geet on what if someone came to see her, she very well knew pinky's father was really concerned about her and has seen her upset for the past few years so what if he planned to get her married off. She looked at pinky and saw inky was indeed worried and this worried Geet more, what if pinky knew of this and is worried for her, but her thoughts were broken by the interruption of pinky's father.
"Here they are"
Adi turned back and smiled. Seeing Adi first Geet gave a sigh of relief in knowing nothing of what she worried is happening and naturally smiled but soon her smile vanished on thinking did Maan made Adi come here? Has it something to do with him if then what and why.
Full of endless doubts Geet stood there waiting for Adi to speak.
