Oh, yeah, what's my name? Sorry, I tend to forget to introduce myself at times.
Hi, I am Geet; Geet Handa, a girl from a small town in the Indian map. To describe me in short, you'll need the whole day! Okay, I'm joking, as you must have already guessed I am an introvert. I am very shy and sensible, I can cry over petty matters even though I'm a grown up adult. Every time I was Main Hoo Nah, I cry. My sister had literally nicknamed me "bed wetter" and "cry baby" when I was a kid.
I wash my face and took my scarf wrapping my shoulders and descend downstairs quickly. Thank god; I got rid of that 'puke'. I glance at the clock 8.45 and my class does not start till 9.00. So I manage to swallow a big bite of muffin and rushed to a cab.
I reach school exactly 5 minutes before. I see Nishika waiting for me. I smile warmly at her. Nishika is in jeans as usual. We are both the opposite of each other; I wear salwar while she is a modern girl. But we are both best friend attach to each other like cats and kittens.
In the corner of my eyes I see Maan Khurana, the rude boy. I mean he's not rude except he's obnoxious. He's arrogant. He's not so rich as far as I know but well-off. And also totally abhorrent. The first day when I got transferred to this college, I came to know how ob-no-xious he was. Totally gruesome in my case.
Nishika wave at me. I grin. The poor thing's cat Merlin died 3 weeks ago, she was so broken that I had to buy a new white fluffy cat and she had named her "Sandwich". Weird, nah?
As we enter our classroom; I see Samira 'Ms. Beauty Queen' as she calls herself was sitting on Jade's table and drooling over some guy's photo and showing to Jade who has a smile plaster on her face. I don't know how Samira's friends put up with her. She's so arrogant.
Anyway, our first lecturer comes and starts our class with explanations on blueprints. He starts the class with the explanation. It is a bit difficult but I manage to concentrate; only when I turn around me I see Nishika nodding for a 'no' obviously telling she did not understand what he is saying. I see Obnoxious Maan smiling at the professor as if he knows what he is explaining and he agrees 100%. I see Samira yawning and biting her nails and smiling at Jade. I wonder how Jade can pull it up.
I quickly scan the classroom; half of the class; look puzzled with the explanation so I divert my attention again to the professor.
"So...as you all understood this; now we'll have a little demonstration; we'll have a class project or to be more precise a group work of 2 students and to be more co-operative with each other" the Prof. says smilingly.
Nishika goes with the Nerd Adi, who was a computer geek. Samira who wants to be paired with Obnoxious Maan, I wonder why; kept telling the Prof. "Sir, pair me with Maan Khurana" constantly but the Prof. ignore her totally and set her with someone called 'Sodium'. That dude is called Sodium 'cos he could dissolve in rain if you let him stand, so his name became 'Sodium Chloride' which was equivalent to 'Salt' but 'Sodium' was better.
And the Prof. smiles at me and said "Geet Handa, since you're new you'll work with Maan Khurana" and points over Obnoxious Maan.
My jaws drop. If you did not know, Nishika told me that Obnoxious Maan was once dating Samira. And I hate it right now. I glance at Maan; who, as usual gave a damn to everything just shrug narrowing his eyebrows at me; without glancing and turned to chat with Sodium and Adi.
I give a death look to Nishika...i just hoped that Obnoxious Maan won't make my life miserable...
