Mohinder was waiting for both of them. Rano just hugged him softly "Kya hua aapko?"

[What happened to you?]

Mohinder caressed her hair – "Are yeh kya kar rahi ho tum dono. Geet…tu bhi ro rahi hai. Are chota sa problem hai and it is just a bypass surgery. Tum dono toh aise ghabra rahe ho jaise koi transplant hone ho…itni jaldi tum sab ko chod kar kahin nahi jaane wala mein"

[Arre, what are you two doing? Geet, you are also crying. It is a small problem and it is just a bypass surgery. You both are getting so worried as if I am going for a transplant…I am not leaving you two and going anywhere so soon.]

Rano chided him "Maahi"

Geet and Rahul smiled slightly hearing their mom use the endearment she mostly used probably inside the confines of their bedroom.

Mohinder smiled her and wiped her tears – "Pagal…kuch nahi hoga mujhe. Mein yuon gaya yuon waapis aaya. Rahul, teri zimeedari hai. Ansoon nahi aane chaiye meri dono pariyon ki ankhon mein."

[Stupid…nothing is going to happen to me. I am gonna go and come back quickly. Rahul, it is your responsibility. Tears should not come in my both the angel's eyes.]

Rahul just nodded though his own heart was breaking.

Suddenly a nurse entered "Excuse me, but this surgery need to be preponed. Dr Trehan has agreed to do the surgery himself and sir only has one slot available today. He will be coming for preliminary discussion after which we need to take him for surgery."

All thought about how Dr Trehan agreed for the surgery because he was now operating his own hospital in Gugaon. Few years back the best heart surgeon of Delhi had broken ties with Escort Heart institute to start his own hospital pulling some great doctors from various institutions.

Just then Dr Trehan entered. He checked the charts.

"All looks good. No complications so we will take you in now."

Mohinder nodded as Rahul said "Thanks doctor for considering my father's case."

"Well, frankly speaking I tried to convince Mr. Khurana that it is a straight forward bypass and any good doctor can do it but then he rather convinced me that he only wants me to do it. And I can never refuse him or Savitriji after all they have done for me and my hospital. Waise bhi he rarely asks for anything from anyone. He told me that app unke father in law hain and I promise I will give my best."

With that Dr Trehan walked away giving instruction to the staff.

Mohinder looked at Geet who said softly – "I wanted to just let him know."

Mohinder smiled – "Chalo, ab toh fikar karna band karo tum log. Best doctor himself said it is a straightforward bypass. Rano, meri taraf se thanks kehna Maan ko."

[Ok, at least now stop worrying. Best doctor himself said it is a straightforward bypass. Rano, say thanks to Maan from my side.]

Rano nodded as staff wheeled him out towards the operation theatre.

Rano, Rahul and Geet came out to find pacing Maan in the waiting area. He hurried towards Rahul as he saw them coming – "Everything ok? Has surgery started?"

Rahul looked at him with no emotions "Yes and Thanks for asking Dr Trehan to do this."

Maan kept a hand on his shoulder – "You don't need to thank me. Woh mere bhi Bauji hain."

[You don't need to thank me. He is my father also.]

Rahul just walked away and stood in the corner as Geet walked her mom to seat. Though Maan understood that Rahul was breaking inside, he decided to give him some space. He went to Rano and sat next to her. "Mumma…aap pareshaan mat hoyiye."

[Mumma…you don't take tension]

Rano held his hand gently – "Betaji…Thanks"

"Aap bhi mumma…aap toh mujhe apna beta maanti ho. Toh aap tho thanks na kaho."

[You also mumma…at least you consider me as your son. At least you don't say thanks.]

Rano smiled as fresh tears made way from her eyes. Maan hugged her holding her shoulder "Do do beta hain aapke aur ek beti hai jo beton se bhi aage hai…toh tusi kyon akela feel kar rahe ho? Bauji, is gong to be ok."

[You have two sons and a daughter who is more than a son…then why are are feeling alone. Dad is going to be ok.]

They sat for sometime in silence when Maan got up and went outside. He came back after few minutes with tea and cajoled Rano and Geet to have it. He also offered to Rahul but he declined.

Rano asked Maan to take the tea instead.

"beta tum bhi le lo."

[Son, you also take it.]

Maan did not want to have tea but seeing Rano's tensed state took the cup. He was going to sip when Geet stopped him - "Aap toh chai nahi peete. Aap rukiye I will get coffee for you."

[You don't take tea. You wait, I will get coffee for you.]

Geet went even before Maan could protest. She got black coffee for him and they just sat and waited for operation to be over.

Surgery was successful and Mohinder got his consciousness back later in the night. Meanwhile Daadima also came and met Rano who was much better composed after the success of the operation.

Mohinder stayed in the hospital for 4 day. All these days, Maan stayed with Geet and family in the hospital. He also drove Rano / Geet back and forth from home not trusting them to drive in this emotional state. He cancelled all his appointments for a week and supported Geet all through the way. But one thing he did not do was go and meet Bauji.

Rano had asked him also to go and meet him but he declined – "Nahi mumma…Bauji ki tabiyat abhi puri tarah thik nahi aur apni shakal dikha ke mein unhein aur tension nahi dena chahta. Pehle hi shayaad meri wajah se yeh sab…."

[No mamma…Dad is not well completely and I don't want to give him any more tension by showing him my face. Maybe, all this has happened because of me only…]

Rano caressed his hair softly – "Nahi beta…aisa nahi sochte. Yeh to bas itefaak tha. Tumhari wajah se thodayi unki blockage hui thi."

[No son…don't think like that. It is just a coincidence. His blockage couldn't have happened because of you.]

"Lekin stress?"

[But stress?]

Rano smiled – "Stress toh office mein bhi hota hai. Waise bhi itne kamzor nahi hai woh. Unhein pata hai ki he has to be strong to support his daughter and not take tension because of what will happen in future. Zindagi mein bahut utaar chadaav dekhein hain aur apni zimedaariyan nibhane ki himmat hai unmein. Unka bas chalta toh jis waqt unke bachon ko unki zaroorat ho, woh kabhi beemar nahi padhte. Lekin some things are out of control. Waise bhi yeh koi filmy story thodayi na hai ki koi problem hui aur beti ke baap ko heart attack aa gaya"

[Stress is there even in office. Moreover he is not that weak. He knows that has to be strong to support his daughter and not take tension because of what will happen in future. He has seen a lot of ups and downs in his life and he has the strength to handle his responsibilities. If it was in his control, he would have never fallen sick when his kids need him. But some things are out of control. Moreover, this is not a filmy story that some problem happened and girl's father will get a heart attack.]

Maan smiled listening to her – "Phir bhi woh mujhse naarza hein…jab tak woh gussa dikhane ki haalat mein nahi aate mein unke saamne na hi jaoon toh acha hai. Waise appki baatein sun kar mujhe samajh mein aaya ki Geet itni matured kyon hai and from where she gets this never die attitude…kabhi haalat se haar nahi maanti"

[Still, he is angry with me…and till he is not in a position to show that anger, it is better that I don't go in front of him. After listening to you, I have realized why Geet is so matured and from where she gets this never die attitude…she never accepts defeat in any circumstances.]

Rano sighed – "Haan lekin abhi choti hai isliye kabhi kabhi naadani bhi kar jaati hai. Lekin uski ek baat se mein sehmat hoon. Is baar jo bhi faisla lena soch samajh kar…pure dil se lena. Kuch rishte baar baar toot ke nahi judte. Life does not always give a second chance"

[Yes, but she is also young and that is why sometimes she also does mistakes. But I agree with her on one thing. This time, whatever you decide, do it after thinking…with full heart. Some relationships can not be mended if broken again and again. Life does not always give a second chance.]

Maan looked at Rano – "Maa….aapmein mujhe meri mumma dikhti hain. Aapse jhooth nahi keh sakta. Trust me. I am not in two minds. Mujhe apne decision pe koi shaq nahi. I know that I want to spend rest of my life with Geet only."

[Maa…I see my mom in you. I can not lie to you. Trust me. I am not in two minds. I have no doubt about my decision. I know that I want to spend rest of my life with Geet only.]

Rano caressed his face lovingly – "Hum tumhaari mumma hain toh tumhaara itna kehna hi humaare liye kaafi hai. Aap Geet ko yakeen dilayiye apni baat ka. Aur Jahan tak inka sawal hai, unke liye Geet ki khushi se badhkar kuch nahi. Thoda time deejiye dono baap bete apne aap maan jaienge. Kabhi Kabhi rishton ki dor gaanth se aur bhi mazboot ho jaati hai."

[If I am you mumma, then your saying this much is enough for me. You should make Geet believe in your words. And where it concerns Geet's father, for him nothing matters more than Geet's happiness to him. Give some time, both father-son will accept. Sometimes, string of relationships gets stronger with knot.]
