Maan reached his home….His parents were waiting for him….. his mom asked "Maan…. you came…I was worried… why it took so much time for you…I thought function will be over soon…" he responded softly… "No Mom… heavy rain… so I stopped for few minutes for the rain to subsidize…" She came near him and caressed his hair… "Okay maan… got and get fresh your wet…. You may catch co.." before she can complete her statement maan's dad interrupted…..
"Will you both stop talking unnecessary things.…. It is already late because of your son…. Hurry up and serve dinner….and maan get yourself dried….."
Maan gave a weak smile and went to his room to change clothes….then he receive call from geet's dad…
He picked up…. "Yes uncle.." … "Maan…. geet told me…" .. he knew that geet would have said everything to her dad…
His voice became weak…. "What did she tell?" Geet's dad can sense that he is very sad due to the events happened today….he wants to console him…..
"Listen very carefully to me maan…. you know about geet…after her mom left…she decided to never fall in love as her mind is completely dominated by her mother's words…that women poisoned her mind before she left us… however I tried to make geet come out of that….but only one thing struck hard in her mind…that is to never fall in love…but she really likes you…and she thinks you're her best friend…no one can replace your position in her heart.. But she always thinks that you're not taking your life seriously and says that you need get settled in your life… your dad also feels the same…. So maan first you need to concentrate on your future…. Geet said that she will be always on your side…. She decided to help you…and maan I will also help you… now your college is over…. I want you to become a great man…. And I know…. After that geet will be yours….she will understand your love…"
There was silence on the other side….
"Maan…you there?"
"Ha….Yes….. uncle…"
After knowing the exact reason what geet is thinking about him pricked his heart…. Yes he knows that everyone tells the same thing… even geet has said many times…
Geet: "Yaar…. Why you thinking something which is not at all possible..?"
But he never used to take it seriously…. He knows that she never believes in love…
Once maan asked her about love…and she replied.. "Maan… Love is something which is useless for me.. Something which is not for me…so please don't bring this topic again.."
His thoughts were broken when he heard… "Maan….. hello you there?"
He came to his real sense…and spoke…. "Uncle I never imagined geet also thinks I am useless…."
Geet's dad can sense his pain… "Maan…. she wants you to be on top…reaching your goal…and she is ready to help you in this…"
Now maan realized what geet really needs… he decided not to bring this topic before her… and he will prove everyone his father, geet everyone in this world that Maan can do anything… he will reach his goal and get his geet's love….but he don't want anyone to help him in this matter…even geet… he want to do everything on his own….reach on top… become a successful man…so that his geet can be proud of him and say… " yes…this is my maan…"
He took a deep breath and expressed his final decision…
"I love her uncle and I will do anything for her… I will become successful…but…"
He stopped not able to utter the words which are going to come out of his mouth…
"That's great maan… but what's bothering you?"
Geet's dad was happy hearing that maan is ready to work hard… but he could sense some hesitation….
"But… uncle… I don't want anyone help… I want to do it on my own…I already got the scholarship for my studies in the states…I never said to anyone… I am telling to you… I will leave to states in one week…. I applied for MBA…."
Geet's dad was shocked to see his decision… he never said this to anyone… no one have any idea regarding this…even geet…. all used to think that maan is not taking his future seriously… but this young maan has planned everything before..
"Maan… why you didn't tell this to me or even geet…"
"Uncle I thought of surprising you guys… but now I guess everyone including geet never had the belief in me….she also under estimated me…..but I am not angry on her…instead I want to prove her and also to this world that…I am not a loser.."
These words pricked her dad like needles… he was also one among everyone…he could sense maan pain… even his best buddy thought he is a loser…
"Maan I am sorry….i"
He was not able to form words….he is feeling bad about his thoughts…
"Uncle please…I always respect you… you're the only one who always understand my feelings…and I have a request for you… please don't say anything to geet….i want to become successful and after that I will come in front of her…"
"But maan…." but his words were stopped by maan.. "No uncle!… please do this favor for me…" Her dad knew what will be geet's condition if maan leaves her… but he had no choice…
"Okay maan…I promise…"
"Thanks uncle….goodnight…"
"Goodnight maan"
After disconnecting….maan rested himself….and soon fell asleep….suddenly he woke up hearing the knock on the door… it was his mom…
"maan… come and have dinner.."
He is not feeling like having dinner… but he don't want his mom to get hurt…so he stood up and went down to inform his parents about the decision…
"Dad… I got the scholarship for studying MBA program… in states.."
Both his parents were shocked…..Maan who always be silent who always thought big dreams which is impossible to achieve… today he is one step ahead to reach his goal…
His dad eyes filled up… even his mom was so happy knowing her son is soon going to be successful….Both hugged him and he took the blessings from them…but his heart was still in pain… how will geet react….this is one question left him sleepless for whole night…
The sun rays fell on his face disturbing him….. he was still in deep sleep as last night was very disturbing for him…. He slowly opened his eyes and woke up…
Still he is afraid to face geet… he wanted to share this but what will she think?..
He knows that she will be happy but somewhere he got hurt the way she also underestimated him….. he thought that she will have trust in him… but all this time she also thought that his dreams are useless….. thinking this pains his heart…..
But anyways he decided to inform her… so he got up and came down to breakfast…
But to his surprise geet was there… she gave a week smile to him and he also responded… he sat on the chair feeling a little uncomfortable… there was some awkwardness between them… after last night incident she felt some kind of uneasiness in her but she covers it up by diverting her mind with some other topic…she came to his house to make him understand about his duties and love is not important… but before she could say anything… he broke the silence…
"Geet…I got seat in xyz university in states for MBA program… I applied for scholarship and I got it…"
She got shocked hearing his words… it took time for her to register…
"What did you say?"
She couldn't get the clarity as her mind stopped hearing his words.. he once again repeated his words slowly making her to get clear view… her mouth opened hearing this… her best friend whom she thought his dreams are useless who's dream is impossible to reach now he proved himself by moving one step ahead to reach his dreams… her eyes welled up hearing this… she was so happy to see him getting successful… but her guilt stopped her… she wanted to hug him shout and cheer for him.. but the way she thought about him all these years made her so low before him…. Her voice got struck but she managed to say few words…
"Congrats…All the best.."
Saying this she started to move… then maan's voice stopped her…
"I will be leaving within one week…and I won't come back…"
That's it… hearing these words tears started to roll down from her hazels…she is happy but why she is crying? She itself doesn't know the answer for this question….He could sense that she is hurt… Maan's eyes also having the wetness for leaving her….
"hmmm…."
That much only she was able to answer…. Saying this she left the place… not able to stand… She rushed to her room locking the doors behind…..
She started to cry…. Don't know why she is crying… her mind is not able to give her clear answer… but her heart is paining… this kind of pain she never experienced in her whole life time… till yesterday she thought that his words will never affect her… but today his words… "I will be leaving within one week and I won't come back…"
These words struck in her heart… "He won't come back" mere thinking about this is giving immense pain in her heart… she is feeling like her world is going to come down….
"Why am feeling so helpless and miserable?...whyy?"
Tears are not stopping from her eyes…the inner turmoil she is undergoing is confusing her… she not able to get the clarity for her feelings..what it is… why she is feeling sad ?
She questioned herself many times but no answer…. After some time she drifted to sleep becoming tired of crying…. Then her sleep was disturbed when there was knock on the door.. she was not able to get up… but somehow she carried herself towards the door and opened it…it was her friends….
Seeing her condition they got the picture…. Few minutes ago when geet reached home her dad saw her crying and he exactly knew the reason for her condition…but he wanted her to be happy and become the naughty geet she used to be… so her called her friends to make her happy asked them to take her out… he explained her situation and they understood… they even promised him that they will help geet in this situation….
"Aare geet…why are you crying…I never know that our bold geet will cry?." Ridz came and hugged her tightly and rubbed her back soothing her pain…
Geet was not able to hold back herself…so she also hugged her tightly and started to cry…. They all got worried seeing her like this…Even Sam and pinky hugged her giving a group hug….Geet was never like this…
They made her sit on the bed… and Sam took her in her arms hugging her securely while geet is not stopping her tears..
"Geet…please for god sake stop crying we can't see you like this…" Sam tried to make her understand…
Ridz and pinky said the same together.. "Geet please….please stop…"
After sometime they made her clam down…..
Sam said looking at geet… "thank god you stopped… okay now let's go out…"
"No…I don't want to go out…." Geet refused but all three made her convince….they never asked the reason for her tears as they knew maan leaving her means she will be shattered…but no one can do anything now at least they can keep her engaged so that she may forget it.. but they also knew that she can never forget….
