Hello Geet Fandom!...Ermm so what am I doing in Geet forum...
Well I am here to post my first ever MG fiction...
A One Shot...
I have been writing for long in IF...almost an year I guess...
But I never really had the guts to write on my favourite couple MaanEet...
Reason - I was scared to ruin them.
Then one fine day, this new friend stepped into my virtual life and coaxed me into writing on them...
Weirdly enough, she liked what I wrote and questioned my why I didn't post it in IF...
You all know that dear darling very well...
None other than madam Cloud9. aka Shikha...
So if you find this boring or stupid , please do blame her as well...I am sure she is ready to share the blame😆
This is for her...
So here it is...
MaanEet OS...
Priceless Moments...
Glancing up from her phone, Geet smiled. A serene welcoming smile. That was what made the day for the one walking towards her. She had yet not discovered the right word describe him. Every word that crossed her mind - friend, best friend, lover - seemed insufficient to her. Calling him her world was also insufficient for her. Because world was perishable, but her love she believed would carry onto the nether world.
"Hey curly head" Maan greeted her with the regular crooked smile.
"Better than your bird's nest'.I am sure the comb would be apprehensive to enter the forest atop you head now" Geet shot back.
"It's called style" Maan countered but still ran an unconscious hand through his hair to tidy it.
That was what he always did. The little things to make her smile. He teased her mercilessly, never made one good comment about her when among friends. But when they were alone he did these little things which would make her happy, knowing that she would notice it.
"So shall we celebrate?" Maan asked with a broad grin.
"What?" Geet asked reddening slightly and her voice showing a minute defensiveness.
"You managing to step out of the college without dropping dead of fear and making it up to this cafeteria" Maan said making actions with hands.
"I was being careful so far, for both our sake mind you'.you do know what our relationship entails right?" Geet raised one shaped eyebrow.
"It entails lots of chaos, shouting matches, threats and the whole shebang'.so what we knew this when we fell in love and we were ready to go ahead with it and that hasn't at all changed my love for you" Maan said his eyes growing tender "And besides we aren't the first Christian and Hindu in history to fall in love" he added saintly.
Geet smiled acknowledging the fact. Yes, they weren't from the same religion. Yes , they belonged to too very conservative families. But as they say, you don't choose whom you fall in love with. It just happens. Theirs was in no way a love at first sight. They were just mere friends. Chatting when in groups and mostly pulling each others legs. One fine day, some good soul in their friends had discovered that Geet and Maan make a great pair. It was based on pure filmy reasoning. Now when she thought back to that moment in 2009 she would just smile feeling glad that it happened. Because from a time a while after that Geet and Maan really did become a pair. Geetika Everard fell in love with Maan Khuranna. By the time they started thinking seriously about their differences, they were even more seriously in love.
"Hey musing over future again?" Maan placed a gentle hand over hers.
"Yeah" Geet sighed "It's never going to be easy right?" she asked even though she knew the answer.
"No which is all the more reason for me wanting to live our present to the fullest'.we shy away from everything that most couples in this college do- not that I am going to be that mushy- but a meeting once in a while outside the college won't hurt" Maan said.
"I know but you know how nervous I get'.it's precisely that I am afraid of'.my nerves may get us caught if nothing else" Geet admitted.
"Hey chill! I chose this place keeping all that in mind, you have seen how quiet it is at this time when other shops are usually buzzing with activity" Maan gave an encouraging smile " You do trust me na?" he quizzed.
Geet gave a small nod. She knew that he would not let foolishness ruin what they have now. He was extra careful about that. Few of their friends knew about them and they made sure that the teasing happened only within that circle. They rarely met with in college premises as it entailed the risk of her brother finding out. They did travel together to home twice or thrice but they got down at different stops. They were really thankful to the little creation that has shrunken down the world - the mobile phone. It was their saviour. Something both couldn't imagine living without. They remained connected always. Morning, noon and night. More than three hours without a call would raise concern. Each night they had to talk until at least 1. Just now, ten minutes before getting into the cafeteria , she had been talking with him. She always expected her phone to one day come alive and berate her for getting the battery over heated.
"So what shall we order as a celebration?" Maan asked again.
"How about cold coffee?" Geet asked with a grin.
Maan scrunched his face in distaste and Geet laughed. She loved irritating the hell out of him with her silly antics.
Yes, their future was uncertain. But right now they have decided to enjoy the present.
Err is it bearable?
