I didn't actually ever sense jealousy in Maan towards Yash, he's just not the type to be possessive over someone he barely knows. And I think his avid interest in Geet is partly because of his curiosity towards her. She affects him, and he knows he's attracted but he's still quite curious as to why she has such a big effect of him.

I can sympathise with Geet's clumsiness, why do such things happen to us girls when we're around hot guys? 😆

@Nish Hello! Haven't seen you in a long time though. Good to see you here, I'm sure you'll love this story :D

Wow...we have so many of them who have done PhDs in NYT Maan...Its another Bingo moment of the day.

I know right and it actually happened to me in office last week and I was like..."Shit!...I just did not say that to him..."

So, Boogles, only your fraands dragged you out to this thread? Are we not your buddies then? 😕

I'm trying to find a metaphorical meaning for the red wine, but maybe I look too much into metaphors when I read... Anyhoo, I loved their small yet equally intimate moment with the wine, I'm glad Geet is as affected by him as he is by her - although from the previous chapter, it is hinted that Maan's feelings are stronger...

Me too...

Hmm! I would agree that you are reading too much into it. I was just looking for things that stain hard on clothes. Red Wine sure is one of them. In the previous version, it was turkish coffee.

Hmm! (again) For the part that you mention Maan's feelings are stronger. I doubt we have established that in the story. But you are right, he will be the first one who will acknowledge it. And this time, since its all about Maan being a man's man...he might even take a step further to show it.

Last time around, I felt I had him in knots and had him stepping around eggshells...I'm not sure about that anymore. No rotten tomatoes please! I can only ask you to trust me...

I'll bear that in mind - not everything is symbolism 😆 I do apologise, I'm an English student so naturally everything I read I have to dissect into minute pieces 😆

Step further to show it, I'm liking the sound of that. Embrace that masculinity Mr Khurana!

I fully trust you'll do wonderful justice with this like you've done so far, so you are perfectly safe from rotten tomatoes

I think, I will take a break once I post "The whispering Wind" and switch to Piazza di Spagna. That is a SS after all and should be completed in a fairly decent time.

What say?

Somehow with GHSP being the source of these characters, I read most stories with a preset notion that the story will invariably revolve around Geet... and with NYT, it was more so because of having read the first part, which kind of had a tad bit more to do with Geet than Maan according to me.

But I have to acknowledge that "NYT reloaded" is turning out to possess more shades of Maan than that of Geet. The last time around, it took Maan a trip till the Grand canyon to realize and accept his unfound feelings for Geet. This time around, a drive till Yale did the job... he is fast improving. But it surprises me that he is so comfortable with his feelings so early in the story. I have to say that I find Geet's reactions to everything a little more realistic, which makes me conclude that Maan in this story is a lot more complex that he is being shown to be (since all your characters are a very very close to reality).

H, ur writing is so immaculate. But by the time I try to analyze anything you write even, I land up confusing even myself. Did you get a hang of what I am trying to convey? 😕

And to answer ur last bit, nope... please continue to update all of your stories... I will miss NYT terribly if you don't update it as often as you have been...

Hmm! I don't agree here. They surely are curious about this pull and it makes them question a lot of things that they hadn't before, but, they also haven't decisively arrived at why this matters or what this is (In short, they haven't named this pull). As I said, it will show once Geet realizes it is far more serious than what she thinks it to be. And for Maan, he is certainly getting on that flight to Canyon.

I think this time, they both have many shades that wasn't explored the last time around.

Yes, don't worry about that. Just write.

But, I still think I will have to finish Piazza soon, otherwise I would lose the plot details for that. So, updates might be delayed here.

H, is it not true that Geet is a little more confused and hesitant about their pull than Maan? He seems to be dealing with it with ease... and that surprises me. 😃

I also read another comment of yours with your analogy that Maan was kind of like a toddler, learning his A, B, C's but not really knowing what to make of it. So, is it safe to therefore assume that what Maan is doing now is just plainly flowing with the events happenings around him? That somehow does not sit well with the professional image that he carries around. I know that he may be different professionally, but to this effect? Or has Geet managed to penetrate his barriers to this extent?

He is at ease, only because he doesn't think much of it...He has been too sure of himself all this while without having to second guess his thoughts and actions. When he doesn't feel a desperate urge towards any single women out there, its difficult to consider that he is falling for a married woman. That too, when he has a tendency to look down upon the interns who work with him. And I believe for a bachelor in his early 30s, its perfectly natural for him to enjoy beauty as it presents itself without questioning much of it. So, that is why it will hit him hard when he understands what 'this' is.

Yes, I would say so. At present, he doesn't mind his curiosity towards her, because there is no intention to make any of that personal. He admires her beauty, adores her being sloppy and finds it amusing at times when she blurts out sentences without thought. For now, she is also the one who reminds him of what he is missing in life and that strikes him odd and hence the intrigue to stay around her more. Although, it isn't far when he realizes he craves for her company and her attention. And that need (or call it dependency) will turn him away from her for a while.

That somehow does not sit well with the professional image that he carries around. I know that he may be different professionally, but to this effect? Or has Geet managed to penetrate his barriers to this extent?

He is reticent, not withdrawn. He does go to parties with dates, attends office parties, but he also carries an air around him when it comes to his subordinates. Does that help?

I think I got carried away writing this. Was on a office call...So, you know how it is...
