Also, I think lot of you felt that sewing bit was a little clich. But what to do, I could not let go of the temptation of almost shirtless Maan and Geet touching his abs 😆 So you can say that was just my vent as a writer….he he he😆😆

His day went very well. He tried denying first but then eventually realized that his mood was very calm and he knew it was due to Geet and the way she tried to make everything perfect for him. Her dress choice made him confident and she took care of every small detail from his breakfast to files…her encouraging words and her confidence in him…she had made him part of her life even though she herself remained so busy.

His happiness added to his reputation and charm and he had finished the meeting much earlier than expected and by the end, deal was his with no great difficulty.

Maan knew that somewhere he was changing. After a long time, he felt like sharing his happiness with his family like old days. One reason was that after a long time, a deal actually made him happy as after Poonam was gone, it was just work for him and an escape from reality. But now, he felt genuine sense of achievement as now life had a new meaning.

He looked at Poonam's picture and talked to her about his office after a long time. "Poonam, I got the biggest deal of my life today. You were there with me when I got my first deal. It was you who encouraged me and gave me the confidence. Today you are not here….."

His voice chocked a little but he continued – "Somewhere Geet is like you. Even when I took her right away somewhere, she does her best to ensure my success. I miss you Poonam…I do. But I wonder if you are the one who is guiding her…if you have sent her for me?"

For reasons known only to his heart, he went to mall and bought gifts for everyone. He bought a science kit for Vicky as he knew he will like to play with it especially with Geet. Thought of Geet brought a little smile on his face. He wanted to buy something special for her but did not know what. He realized he hardly knew her choices and just started doing window shopping.

Meanwhile he picked a saree each for Daadima and Meera along with latest Swiss knife for Dev (poor guy did not know that his wife would have appreciated that more than Dev!!!)

He hadn't picked up anything for Geet as nothing seemed good enough. As he walked out lost in his thoughts, his eyes fell on a bracelet. It was a diamond bracelet with an intricate and an elaborate design. Maan immediately fell in love with it's unique design and knew it was made for Geet's slender milky hands. He immediately went in and purchased it for her.

Maan reached home to find an amusing sight. Vicky stood on top of dining table throwing tantrums as Meera tried to make him drink milk.

Meera was at the end of her patience when Geet entered home. She did not see Maan who was standing little at the side as Geet rushed in – "Hi Meera….hi Vicky….yeh kya ho raha hai"

[Hi Meera…hi Vicky…what is going on here?]

Meera answered all flustered – "Aur kya ho raha hai….roz ki kahani…dudh peene ke liye iske naatak."

[What else is going to happen…everyday's story…his antics for having milk]

While Meera was distracted, Vicky jumped off the table and started running here and there with Meera running after him with a glass of milk. Geet laughed out loudly and Maan was lost in her magical laugh as it echoed in the room. She held Meera by shoulder and took the glass from her. Meera made a baby face and Geet tried to control her chuckle.

"Vicky Honey….How was your day. Acha dekho, why don't we call truce? I am gonna name first twenty elements of the periodic table. You come and drink the milk by then and I promise as a treat, we will play battleship together."

Maan raised his eyebrows in surprise – "Baap re…sab counting karte hai, yeh elements ginti hai…pakka Vicky ko scientist bana ke chodegi."

[Oh God…everybody counts numbers and she is going to count elemsnts…for sureshe is going turn Vicky into a scientist]

Geet – "Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryllium, Boron, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, Neon, Sodium, Magnesium…..Calcium"

Geet stopped to see a proud Vicky who had finished his milk and smiling Meera and Daadima. All three were startled as Maan clapped – "Wow!!! That was one hell of a counting."

All the three ladies were very surprised to see Maan earlier than his usual time and in such a happy mood. Daadima recovered first and asked – "Aapki meeting kaisi rahi beta"

[How was your meeting son?]

"Bahut achi Daadima. We got the contract and that too on absolutely our terms. As a matter of fact I have got little gifts for all of you as a surprise."

Daadima and Meera looked at him in disbelief. Maan was suddenly concerned seeing tears rolling down Daadima's face. He came closer "Kya hua daadima….aap aise"

[What happened Daadima...Why like this?]

Daadima caressed his head gently – "Nahi beta yeh khushi ke aansu ahin. Aaj na jaane kitne dinon ke baad aapko aise khush aur excited dekha hai"

[Nothing Son, these are tears of happiness. After god knows how many days today I am seeing you so happy and excited?]

Maan wiped her tears – "Daadima"

Daadima gave a weak smile and went to Geet – "Thank you beta. Humare Maan toh jeena bhul hi gaye the. Aaj lagta hai jaise aapne unhein humein waapis lauta diya hai"

[Thanks you beta. Our Maan had forgotten to live only. Today I feel you have given him back to us.]

Geet hugged Daadima – "Of o Daadima…aap bhi na…kaisi baatien kar rahi hain….But I can understand. After all your kanjoos grandson has finally spent his time on us and bought something na…yeh to hona hi tha"

[Of O Daadima…you also…what things you say…But I can understand. After all your miser grandson has finally spent some time on us and bought something right….so this was bound to happen]

Maan scolded her with fake anger – "Geet!!!!". He knew she was just trying to lighten the mood as Daadima laughed.

Geet almost jumped on him – "Chaliye Chaliye jaldi se gift deejiye…nahi toh pata chalega janab ka mood phir se badal gaya"

[Come on; give the gifts quickly…otherwise who knows when your mood will change again.]

Maan shook his head and gave the packets to everyone. First was Vicky who literally ripped the wrapper apart and as Maan predicted just spend a second to thank him before running to Geet showing her his science kit.

Daadima opened her saree next and hugged it. She gently stroked Maan's face showing her appreciation. Geet urged Meera to open her gift next. Meera eyes twinkled with unshed tears as well – "Oh Bhai….it is really pretty"

Maan also gave her Dev's swiss knife which Geet eyed with longing and sighed - "Pata nahi mere liye kya layein hain.

[Don't know, what he has got for me?]

Finally, she opened her parcel and gasped at the intricate bracelet. Her eyes widened and lips formed a small "O"

A small smile adorned Maan's face. He so wanted to see Geet liking the gift and the twinkle of joy which sparkled on her face gave him immense satisfaction.

Geet was amazed to see such a beautiful bracelet. She was just happy with the fact that Maan bought her something and that he thought of his entire family on the day of his success. But she had never expected a gift which clearly showed amount of thought and time Maan had put in selecting it for her.

Her eyes got teary as she smiled and looked up – "Thank you Maan. It is beautiful. Lekin itna expensive…"

Before she could even complete her sentence Meera hugged her – "Oh come on Geet. Just stop at it is beautiful because it is. Waise bhi shaadi ke baad pehla gift laye hain bhai aapke liye….kuch toh special hona hi chaiye tha na."

[Oh come on Geet. Just stop at it is beautiful because it is. Moreover, Bhai has got you the first gift after marriage…it should be special only]

As the evening progressed, Maan was contended to see a radiant blush on Geet's face. Her happiness was clearly evident as she kept on stroking the bracelet which she had worn. He knew what mattered to her the most is that he got it for her.

Once Dev was back, every one decided to go out for dinner as a small celebration.
