Chapter 8
Geet woke up with early birds chirping outside; she opened her eyes to the new surroundings. She adjusted herself from the vague vision and realized where she was. She set up on the bed quickly prayed and stepped out of the bed to freshen up. It was early enough; Geet thought to leave early and go to her place and get ready for another fresh day.
At the same time Geet felt not to disturb anyone and leave quietly but then that's not nice to treat the hospitality that Dadima presented to her. Hoping not to encounter her Boss first thing in the morning, but her heart has something else to wish a glimpse of him. She scolded her heart and stepped out of the room quietly as possible. As she came in to the main corridor Geet heard the slow chants coming out from the other side of the room. Pleasant smile spread on Geet's lips and her steps took her to the sound.
Geet stood next to Dadima in her temple, folded her hands in for the prayers. Soon Dadima finished and noticed Geet next to her. "Bless you my child." As Geet took her blessings. "You are up already Geet?"
"Yes Dadima, I should go Dadima, you know I have to change and be on time at the office. You see there is a very important meeting and I have to prepare for that." Geet turned towards the idol of god folded and silently apologizes to God and Dadima for lying but the fact was she didn't wanted to be present when her boss wakes up.
"Ok no problem, but Geet I won't allow you to leave without having the breakfast and I'll have car to drop you." Before Geet could protest, Dadima released another arrow. "Or else you can argue with your Boss Geet." Dadima smirked at the wittiness she propped.
"Ok Dadima as you wishes." Geet followed the elderly woman she heard her again. "Today is strange that Maan is not up yet, usually he is awake before I wake up. Actually I'm glad my child I think he finally able to sleep after long time." Dadima placed a motherly hand over Geet's head. They both ate chatting about her health and finally Geet bid adieu to Dadima took her blessings and left.
Maan parade in his office back and forth and profaning at him for not waking up early enough and was surprised to find out that Geet has left already from Dadima. He wanted to be with Geet and take her to the doctor. He reached the office very early and no one was around yet. Hoping to catch her before the staff fills in. Geet was nowhere near the office, what's keeping her long. He felt agitated as the seconds passed by. He finally heard the elevator doors open. He waited to find out who it is; he will know if it's Geet. He smiled as the chimes ringed in his ears.
Geet tried her best to get here before anyone else comes in specially her boss. Geet had decided not to be seen today and make him suffer as he made her last night. Universe has its own plan as if, "Sneaking away Geet?" Geet jumped in her steps as she heard him standing right in the door of his office hands folded as if he knew it would be her with the folded hands. Steading herself, she turned to flesh him the scowl looks.
"You have done it again, scared me."
"A very good morning to you too Geet." He said annoyingly.
"A very good morning to you too Maan." She pause at his pleasant expression and a little longer, "Sirrr." She finished the last word with deeper emphasising the letter R. She knew how to get back to him. It annoyed him when Geet called him "Sir". So this is it this will be the best way of taking the revenge on him she smirked. She noticed him irked.
"Maannn" unfolded his arms and placed it on his hips.
"Sirrr" Gleefully Geet played along.
"Maan" Huffing he snapped at her.
"Sir" Geet imitated him right back
"Geettt" He pointed the fingers.
"Yes Sir?" She batted her lashes. Maan turning red, he knew it will be a challenge to make her say his name. Least he knew that she was playing prank on him.
"Let's go."
"Where Sirrr?"
"Geett..you um uh'" He clenched his jaw and his fist. She was pushing his buttons now; looking at her she was enjoying it. He should know better. But that woman knew how to push him. He caught her playfully smiling. It showered the thousand blessing as if upon Maan. He loved her more with her playful self. He instantly grabbed her arm and pulled her to him that got her inside the cabin. Geet's doe eyed circled O with sudden pull and such intimacy. Maan turned naughty seeing Geet trapped in his embrace.
"What were you calling Geet? Huh? Say it again?"
"Sir let me go." Geet tried to let his arms loose around her and struggled out of his grip.
"Try one more time Geet." He pulled her more closely and brought his face close to hers. Seeing her turning pink, he enjoyed as much he was drawing himself in her beauty.
In such warmth in his strong protective arms Geet was turning in to a puddle. Those eyes were burning in passion and desire for her, Geet knew she was no far from that for him. With such intense seductive gaze Maan held her captive.
"Maan" A small whisper escaped her lips.
"Say it again." This time it was more a plea with desire and love in Maan's tone.
"Maan please let me go someone will see us." Geet submitted her request softly as much she wanted it as Maan did.
"Not until you promise me to call me Maan." He nudged her nose with his, Geet shies and draws her lashes to curtain her emotions.
"I can't call you by your name you know that I'm your employee I work for you remember." Still not looking at his face she made the point."
"In private then, when it's just you and me?" He looked at her lips then at her as if asking for permission to claim em.
"Okay." Geet's lips quiver inviting him to claim his right and he did.
This time, he was the one to gently embrace her. He kissed her soft, sweet mouth, and in that moment, he felt more alive, more loved, then he ever had before.
"Promise?" He pulled himself out of his daze.
"Yes Maan I promise." Only then she was laughing and crying at once. The man who'd been cold was now alive, and in love with her.
Maan had his share of emotions to share with the life of his dead soul.
"Let's go Geet." Geet quizzed him with her knitted brows.
"We are going to the doctors." He calmed himself would he ever get tired of her?
They twined their fingers and walked out the cabin headed towards the elevator towards the new journey.
This journey does not seem to end with this marvelous couple every time I see them or read them. It feels like fresh bubbles blow up. I can't seem to get over with them yet. I tried so hard to divert my interest and all in vain. It tears me when I don't have Maan and Geet to look forward every day. This is my tribute to the pair who has engraved their memory in my mind. Till I come up with new imagination, continue to light up the flames for MaanEet.
The End...
