It's a Small One...😳
Chapter 7
Dadima welcomed Geet with open arms. She saw Geet pale and got concern. Dadima turned to Maan with frown on her face.
"What is this Maan this is how you treat someone specially a woman who needs rest in her condition?"
Maan ashamed of his act already and now Dadima were not making it easy he looked at his shoes he couldn't make his eyes look straight at his granny. She still holds the authority to hold him guilty as charged and he would not dare say word against his plea.
"I'm Sor.."
"Dadima it's not Sir's fault." Maan jerk his head up at her as she gave a quick glance at him and turned to face Dadima.
"It was me who was insistent to finish the job as it was the emergency." Dadima got hold of her arm and turned to get her inside. She orders the butler to set the table.
"Maan go change and come back to the table and Geet you come with me." Maan and Geet looked reluctantly at each other and followed the elderly woman's firm orders.
All this time on the way to guest room Dadima lectured Geet on taking care of herself if not her then think of her baby. Dadima showed her to the room and asked her to freshen up while she waits outside. She will see it to herself as she doesn't trust Geet.
Geet was overwhelmed with the care and love Dadima showered upon her despite the fact how she dishonored her reputation by breaking the relationship with her Grandson.
Dadima hovered over both specially Geet to eat properly and all the while scolded Maan holding him responsible. No matter how much Geet tried all in vain. They shared glances at each other, Maan with accusingly and Geet with apologetically.
Maan could take this for the rest of his life he thought, he just want her to be back in his life for ever if only Geet can give him that chance.
They finished off their food with the charade and after few minutes later Geet roused asking permission to leave. Before Maan could say anything he was interrupted by Dadima.
"Are you straight in your mind Geet? Do you think I'll allow you to leave at this time of the night? You are not going anywhere you will stay here tonight and that's my order. Come I'll take you to the room."
With that Dadima again grabbed her hand and dragged her towards the room. Geet tried to get some help from Maan helplessly. It seems to be he was in agreement with his beloved Dadima. He smiled at her, shrugged his shoulders and went to his own room Geet gave him scowling looks and walked away brewing revenge against him.
Both lay on their back rewinding the entire day and how the night folded with each other. No matter how far they apart destiny brings them back to each other. Finally the night covered the silent blanket over them to unfold the brightness of the morning that will bring tomorrow.
Out of sight above the house, the mirror moon reflected the sun of a day not yet dawned, shining the pale light of tomorrow on the yard and on the paper birches. Come tomorrow I'll wake up new.
