Four Lions Films - Gul Khan, Gorky M and Nissar Parvez
Of course, the interview is restricted to a 3 part but the company is still growing, it has to stabilize; "I have miles to go before I sleep" is one line that comes to my mind which personifies their journey. A start that has given them recognition beyond them being great directors, they have carved a niche for themselves as a Production House that has stories to tell. They have created a wave that is making other people believe that love being an integral part of life as Gorky said is what the new way of storytelling should be. They have sold an idea to replace the traditional set up of saas-bahu drama in a different format wrapping it with humor, some drama and lot of love that woos an audience of varied ages that garners necessary TRPs . "We are all romantics," said Gul. This perspective signifies how they approach storytelling and how they present it to the audience. Call it Mills and Boon era emerging in Indian Television or the belief that love makes the world go around, Four Lions Films are creating stories that have different backdrops, be it a turbulent relationship in a business set up or a high school romance with sports set up.
One thing is for sure their upcoming projects will have people of all demographics find something they can look forward to. Gorky said, "We want to do it all," but they want to take one step at a time, establish and affirm their presence in the television industry for the next two years and then perhaps one can look forward to them giving you films that would blow your mind away.
Hear how they work on story, how they plant various characters in a script and how for some reason they never appear on screen. The conversation did not halt but then there is something to be said for anticipation.
So look out for their upcoming project Suvreen Guggal on 19th March 2012 on Channel V and be ready to be drawn into their web of fabulous story presented in a unique fashion.
