since you posted after a long gap we lost the attraction of reading your story . Although it is very good , but if you write regularly we will also appreciate , not asking for daily updates but atleast once a week. For a reader regular updates makes curiosity what will happen next so is enthusiastic to read and give comments.

FANTASY

CHAPTER-48

Geet woke up the next morning to see Maan getting ready for office. She sat up on bed immediately and said, "Aapne mujhe uthaya kyun nahin?"

Maan turned back, while tying his tie and said, with a smile,"Tum uthke kya karti?"

Geet glared at him, and got off the bed quickly. She was overcome with a slight dizziness, and was about to fall, when she grabbed hold of the bedpost steadying herself. Maan saw her in the mirror and quickly rushed over to her side, holding her by the waist tightly.

"Geet, tum thik ho na? Kya hua?" he asked, as he seated her down on the bed again.

"Kuch nahin….I have a headache," she muttered, holding her head, and then looked up at a tensed Maan,"It's nothing serious. I'll be fine."

"Maybe because you cried a lot yesterday," Maan said quietly, handing her a glass of water.

Geet said nothing,but she drank the water thirstily. She kept the glass away and raised herself again, held tightly by Maan. She looked at him and said,"Maan, main thik hoon. Aap office jayiye…"

"Are you sure, Jaan? Do you want me to stay home? I can..I mean I have just one important meeting…Adi can handle that…." He trailed off as Geet shook her head for a no heavily, and said, "It's okay, aap jayiye…."

"I'll be back after that meeting is done, okay Jaan?" he said, stroking her cheek lovingly.

Geet started to protest, but he quickly kissed her on the lips once to silence all her refusals. He murmured,"I Love you" in her ears, and left, kissing her forehead one last time.

As Geet got into the washroom for her shower, Maan climbed down the stairs only to bump into Dev, who gave him a sheepish smile. Maan stared at him blankly not knowing exactly how to react, or behave with his brother. He had just thrown his brother's wife out of the house last night, and here he was. Smiling at him in a stupid way as if nothing even remotely important or significant happened.

"Bhai…woh….mujhe aapse…kuch baat karni thi…" he started saying, when Maan continued climbing down the stairs and said,"I don't want to talk about Naintara."

Dev panted as a visible effort of keeping up with him. He muttered, 'I don't want to talk about her. I just…."

"Please be quick about it. I'm kind of getting late, Dev," Maan said, as he gulped down a glass of juice.

"Bhai..woh…office…." he trailed off, as Maan raised a hand to silence him.

"You won't be coming to the office. Till I take some legal action against Naintara, and make sure she is not able to use you to harm me or Geet or my family or the business, it's better that you stay out of everything," he said, staring defiantly at his bewildered brother, and walked out of the Mansion.

Dev stared after him, and then, banged his fist on the wooden table, hard enough to hurt himself.

"Darn it!!!" he muttered angrily.

Geet ran a hand through her hair lazily, as she entered their bedroom in the afternoon. She stared at the phone in her hand, and muttered, "Mujhse toh baara keh rahe the, ke Geet, I'll be back after that one meeting….aur yeh lo..dopahar ho gayii, aur koi khabar hi nahin hain Maan ko. Though, I'm fine now, lekin phirbhi…."

She dialled his number on her phone, and waited for him to pick up. But, there was a busy tone, and it kept coming everytime she tried. Geet shrugged her shoulders, and started trying the office number when Daadima came in.

"Geet?" she said in a low and heavy voice.

Geet turned around immediately, and saw the elderly woman standing in front of her. But, the sight shocked her to the depths. Daadima had deep dark circles under her eyes, and the tired and worn-out look on her face gave away the fact that she didn't sleep well last night. Geet rushed over to her side, and said, "Daadima, aap thik toh haina?"

Daadima smiled weakly, and held her hand in a reassuring way. She looked around the room, and murmured, "Maan toh chala gayaa hain, haina?"

The words meant extremely well, but, suddenly, Geet felt a deep pang in her heart. It was as if, something was going to go wrong. She had felt something similar a few days back. But, Geet couldn't remember exactly when. She shrugged off her thoughts, and replied, "Ji, woh office gayee hain….baas, aate hi honge…he said, he's going to come early today."

"I don't have a good feeling, Geet. Can you call him up? I want to talk to him. I can't reach his phone," Daadima said, in a fatigued and tired voice.

Geet jerked her head up in surprise. She wasn't having a good feeling either. She quickly guided Daadima to the bed, and picked up her phone again. This time, she didn't waste time calling Maan's cell. She dialled the office number directly.

After a few painful rings, the voice of Adi came into her ears.

"Adi sir….main Geet. Maan kahaan hain?" she blurted out, before Adi could even say Hello.

"Geet…woh….Maan sir toh office mein nahin hain…he is at the site," Adi said.

"What site?" Geet asked, her heartbeat picking up a little, and then, thudding loudly, as she heard the answer she was dreading the most.

"Woh…wahi wala site jahaan pe problem hua tha…." he trailed off, as Geet whispered, "Jahaan pe explosion hua tha…"

She hung up, lowering the phone from her ears slowly. Suddenly, she remembered something important. Something very important. A phone call.

Sasha had called her up that day, when her mangalsutra broke. She had told her about the site problem, and asked her to go and solve it. Geet was supposed to go, but, somehow, Maan got there first, and then…. Geet shivered, as she remembered the floor exploding.

"Sasha….it was Sasha…" she murmured blankly, holding the phone tightly in her hands.

"Geet?" Daadima stood up in alarm, as Geet stared ahead blankly, "Kya hua hain? Maan thik haina? Aap aise kyun? Sasha kya?"

"It was Sasha," Geet said, in a low voice. "She loves Maan. She wants me out of his life. She wants to kill me."

"Geet, aap…" Daadima clutched hold of Geet's arm tightly, as she continued rambling,"It was Sasha. It was Sasha the whole time. We were so blind. All the events were staring at us in the face the whole time and we didn't realize. None of us did. Na Maan…na main…"

"Aap kya keh rahi hain, mujhe kuch samajh nahin aa raha hain, Geet," Daadima said desperately.

Geet jerked her head towards and her and started talking urgently, without caring how bold or inappropriate her words were.

"It was Sasha Daadima. She has a crush on Maan, or maybe, she loves Maan. I don't know which. Uss raat jab woh ghar aayi thi papers sign kar wane, she stood close to Maan…. Her thigh….against…his…" her eyes widened as she remembered, "Maine Maan ko bola tha, but he thought I was being stupid…I thought so too after some days, lekin…we were wrong…"

Geet looked up to see a confused Daadima. She clutched hold of her cell phone tightly in her hand, and walked up to her. Holding her hand in hers tightly, she said urgently, 'Daadima, I need to find Maan and tell him that it was Sasha. Till he knows that, he is not safe. Main site pe jaa rahi hoon. Aap….aap chinta mat kijiye….main jaldi aajaungi.."

"Bete, aap yeh kya baatein kar rahi hain?" Savitri Devi asked her, in sheer panic and confusion. But Geet didn't waste any more time explaining.

"Main aapko ghar aake sab samjha dungi, Daadima..Filhaal, I need to get to Maan," Saying so, she let go of Daadima's hand and walked out of the room. Before leaving, she turned around and said,"Daadima, agar main ya Maan agle 2 ghante mein wapas nahin aaye, then please send the police to the office site. It's in Noida."

Geet quickly ran down the stairs, and left the Mansion, before Daadima could stop her. She passed a stunned Dev on the way, who she barely seemed to notice. Her mind was on Maan. She had to get to him, she thought vehemently.

And then, her brain gave her the biggest shock of her life. The feeling she was having was familiar. The uneasiness and the panic was familiar.

She recognized the last time she had had the same fear, panic and uneasiness in her mind.

It was the day when the explosion had taken place.
