49. Tere bin
Weeks had passed and medically Geet's health was under control. But though the preterm was avoided, the doctors did not completely rule out the possibility of Geet not carrying the baby full term. So in order to avoid preterm bed rest was advised along with medicines. 'Careful' became a word that Geet started to hate, because the advice of the doctor not to exert herself became the cause for everybody advising her to be careful every single day and every single night. She was treated as if she was so fragile that she shouldn't take a single step unless someone was with her. It was as if from Nakul to Rudr to Sameera to Maan looked at her as if she was a time bomb set to explode at the slightest motion. The worst was without doubt Maan who frowned if she didn't do every action in slow motion.it was getting on her nerves, yet she couldn't even show her displeasure because that too fell under the category of exerting herself. She grew impatient for the time when she could hold her baby in her arms.
Now she was almost sure their baby would be Maan's Shona. To tell the truth she really wanted Maan to have his wish. There was no mistaking the obvious welcome the baby gave when she heard her papa's voice. What amused her most was the hide and seek Maan and his Shona played every night with she herself being a participant only because she happened to carry Shona. Since the baby grew bigger it was possible to see her movement , the way the movement of a leg or a hand could be seen on her stomach. The first time it had happened when Maan was with her he was awestruck. He had placed his hand on her tummy in wonder and after a quick thump against his hand the baby moved away making Maan follow the movement. Now it became a routine game with the father and his daughter.
Maan tried to keep his travel to minimum, giving Sasha or some other staff to see to the out of city site visits. But it so happened that there was a problem at one of the construction sites in Amritsar there were some issues that needed is attention. Geet tried not to be unhappy that Maan would be gone on her birthday, as he was sure to return by night. He had arranged a party for the night. But then his call came that he would not be able to make it back and it would take him another day to resolve the matter. He didn't want them to cancel the party. She didn't think she would be ablt to enjoy the party without him, but he insisted saying it would be awkward to cancel at the last moment especially when all the arrangements were made. So she sat with Dadi holding on to the smile when all she wanted to do was to go to her room and sulk with Shona that Maan had missed her first birthday with him.
The lights dimmed in the hall and the wall behind the stage turned into a screen. Image of a smiling Maan appeared on the screen, "Friends thank you for sharing my happiness on this wonderful day. Years before on this day Babaji decided to preset this world with one of his beloved children and I am grateful that he wrote my name on her sindoor. A few months ago my life was bleak, laden with the grief of the death of my brother and his wife. Then He presented us with a hope in Dev's and Naintara's surrogate child and thru this miracle gave me another gift, the most precious and beautiful one, my wife. Today I wish to celebrate with you the birthday of this person without whom my life would be incomplete and colorless. I thank Babaji for this fortune he has bestowed on me."
With that the screen became blank again. After a few moments of darkness, which Geet spent wiping her tears, the spotlights came on the stage.

On the stage were dancers in pairs with Rudr and Sameera in the middle. As the music began the dancers twirled in circles.

The screen dimmed and the dancers gained prominence. They danced to the music and the stage dimmed for another moment. The screen came alive again with images of their togetherness.

Another voice joins in with the singer and Geet gasps with pleasure to see Maan walking towards her.

Maan drops to one knee in front of her and cups her face with his hand.

On the screen the video shows Geet twirling in the rain with Maan watching. She looks towards him as if he called out to her, laughs and runs towards him to pull him into the rain.

He wipes the tears that slid down her cheeks.

Maan holds out his hand to geet and she places hers in his. He kisses her hand.

He stands up in a fluid movement and gently pulls her to her feet and encloses her in a hug.
Jo tu mere paaas hai to yakin apne hone pe hota hai

Mere liye main sach kahun tu ibaadat ke kabil hai
Maan leads Geet towards the dancing floor and holds her in the circle of his arms. She leans her head on his shoulder and hugs him. They sway with the music.

The screen shows the video of Geet praying with Maan watching her again. She catches him watching her and mimes to fold his hand.

She tilts her face to look at him, her eyes luminous with love, "I love you Maan."
hope u enjoyed another maaneet moment...i know the update was small, but actually it was supposed to be a bit longer with another part added to this. i didn't want to spoil the romance adding that part with this.
