Chapter Five

Khuraana Mension

7 in the morning

Maan still in bed on his stomach digging his face in pillow. In trance he gropes next side of bed which is empty.This is his early morning routine.Exectly at 7:15 he heard a voice which wake him up n Maan jumps from bed.This was not an alarm or any phone call.

Maan: Not again (he frowned)

Bare footed Maan climbed downstairs in such a hurry lik he gonna blow away every thing.

Maan: Nakul I gonna kill u ?

Afraid of Maan confused Nakul came in front of him

Nakul: Maan Sir maine kya kar diya…kyo subha subha mujhe maar rahe ho aap maine to breakfast bhi nahi kiya abhi.

Maan: Kyo Maaran chata hu...(But before Maan could complete a loud noise hit his mind…Maan gave Nakul a tough look n put his fingers in ears)

Nakul: aab is triumph ki aawaz ki wajaha se mujhe marna chahte ho…Sir yeh baaja to shaddi main bajaate hai ..per aap is ki wajag se mujhe maar kar mera janaaza nikalan chate ho (he was about to cry)

Maan: Ha u r rite..kon laya tha isse..har roj morning main yahi hota hai…meri neend tutt jaati hai isse se…(putting both hands on waist Maan shouted)

But noise was that much sharp... he was hardly able to say any thing n ran toward sitting area.Maan rooted to the spot for some time.Daddi having cup of coffee gav a pleasant smile to Maan.

Daddi: To aap uth gaye Maan

Maan: Ji Daddi kya karta...aur aap bhi

Daddi: Hum bhi kya

Maan: U can't say any think... (but when he heard again he shouted) Rehaan come to Papa otherwise.I gonna beat u

He repeated.But five year old Rehaan gav no response.He noticed a lil hand behind pillar.There was not a trace of anger on his face.He grinned ear to ear.

Maan: Rihaan no hide n seek more come to Papa.Other wise I ll send u with Nakul. (he warned Rehaan)

Within minute five year old Rehaan came out from behind the pillar..Having Curly dark brown hair n Hazal big broad eyes.

Rehaan: No Papa Rehaan aapke sath jaaega.(he hit floor)

Maan bent down on his knees.He flashed a smile n cupped Rehaan's face.

Maan: Kyo Nakul k sath kyo nahi..yeh triumph bhi usne laa kar diya tha na apko.

Rehaan: To fir.

Maan: to fir kya is triumph ko bajaane k liye aap subha subha uth jaate ho..main apko bed per dhundta hu aur aap isko bhajaa rahe hote ho..this is ur punishment...u hav to go with Nakul

Rehaan: What punishment Papa...apne mera naam RehMaan rakha the great music direactor but aap unke jaise mujhe music nahi bajaane dette (he jerked Maan's hands )

Maan looked at him with surprise

Maan: U r Rehaan no Rehmaan..

Rehaan: Papa main Rehmaan hu...lik R-e-h-a-a-n Rehaan hai...aur mera complete name Rehaan Maan Singh Khuraana hai...to apka name aur mera name ek he naam main aa jaye to Rehmaan banta hai nai..(he wittiness made Maan speechless)

Daddi: Good going Rehaan beta...(he cracked up in laughter) Maan jo hum itne years main na kar sakke wo Rehaan kar rahe hai..only he can handle u ..

Maan: Daddi plz...Aur aap Rehaan u r going to school first time in upper kg u r not a play school kid b a big boy now.

Rehaan: Papa isliye to maine apna name Rehmaan rakha hai..ya this is other thing only at home.School main to main Rehaan he rahunga..otherwise sabhi mujhe galat name se pukaar-egay

Maan: Rehaan its enough now..u know Papa hate music..or any music director.

Rehaan: To fir main singer baan jaata hu...aap Geet to pasand karogay na...

Maan: Pata nai aab Geet ka drama shuru its already 7:30..Lets go for bath..jab aap uth he gaye ho..fir papa apko ready kar k ready ho jaa-a we ll leave for school at about 9:00 (He made his son leave from there )

Daddi: Maan u hav fired two Ayaas in one month kab takk chalega aise ..u hav to take decision now.Rehaan needs mother atleast for him (she placed cup on table n got up)

Maan: Daddi plz mujhe aaya pasand nahi aayi iske liye..to kya surety hai apke pass ki shaddi karke jisse main Rehaan ki Maa bana-u...she gonna fulfil all his needs...no Daddi Maa ..aab Rehaan school jaane laga hai...after school I ll pick him up to my office no problem.(Maan such a stubborn what he decided (that was final no marriage )

Daddi: But Maan ..(she said again even she knew what she gonna get in return)

Maan: plz Daddi..I m getting late (Maan left saying but Daddi she was thinking about what Maan was doing)

Handa Mension

Geet had already brought uniform for Mannat n books they gonna get from school.Her admission had already been done Jst a formal meeting was left with Principal.So Inder was ready.But not Geet.She was running behind Mannat who was not in mood to go .

Geet: Mannat I ll count jst 10 come in front of me other wise look I hav my tab in hand n gonna play loud boaring song..come fast..1.2.3.(she knows Mannat don lik any kind of music so this tickle n music r only tricks which work on Mannat)

Mannat immediately came in front of her.Who had hided herself behind sofa.

Mannat: Maa u r making fool out of me..where is ur tab..u don hav any tab in hand.aap humko dhamki de rahe thay (she put both her hands on waist n yelled at Geet)

Geet: Its not called Dhamki Mannat jab aap mama ko tang karte ho to Mama itna to kar he sakti hai.(she justified her act)

Mannat: U r liar mommi...Mannat don lik music...u always use this trick.

Geet: Mannat hai to aap meri beti per mujhe sach main yeh samjh nahi aata why u don lik music...apki to mommi ka naam he Geet hai means song

Mannat: Mommi abb hum late nahi ho rahe don fight with me(she reminded her mommi why she was behind her )

Geet: Acha meri Maa chal aab

Mannat: Hum to Mannat hai apki mommi means Nani nahi

Geet: chup chalo aab (she cradled her daughter in lap)

Inder got a call from office.He had to attend an urgent meeting so Geet decided to go by herself.Rano was ready to accompany her But she asked her mother to stay back.

Around 9:15 Geet n Mannat reached school .Still timing was 10-1:30 but soon gonna change due to coming summers 8:30 to 12:00 for KG classes.

Mannat: Mommi this is my school.Its good but not lik my school..so many big boys n girls around here (Mannat gav her verdict looking around at other school children )

Geet: Mannat that is not ur play school this school is for kids of all age group...lets go..Mommi ko apke principal se bhi milna hai..n hav to collect ur books..aaj apka first day hai school main aur aap ko new friends bhi milegay (she held Mannat by hand n came out of car )

Mannat: Mommi Mannat ko kya aur kids se...hum to yahan study k liye aaye hai not for friends.(she rooted to the spot listening to her mother n yelled as her habit)

Geet looked at her extra ordinary girl.Who had totally different habits than her.But no need to say any thing to Mannat she ll remain as such.She nodded her head n dragged Mannat to administrative block

On other side Maan also reached same school with Rehaan.He was in play school for 2 years of same Saint Joseph's convent where he is going b part of upper KG...one of reputed convent schools of region...But this main school was bit different for Rehaan where he ll meet kids nt from his play school.But there were kids also who was with Rehaan for two years

Rehaan: Papa I ll get new friends here.(cherished Rehaan said looking around kids of same age between crowd of other students )

Maan: Rehaan u r here for studies ..Maan Singh Khuraana k betay hai aap ..ur aim is to look at ur target...okey

Rehaan: I know Papa what u say...I hav to b lik u ..but Papa I want friends (he made pity face)

Maan: Rehaan don b sad son.Lets go its getting late (Maan can never see his son sad n for him he can go to any limit to put smile on his face )

Rehaan: I luv u Papa (he cupped his father's face with tiny hands n kissed on his both cheeks)

Maan: I lov u too son more than u (he kissed him back)

Maan cradles Rehaan in his arms n moved to administrative block to meet Rehaan's class teacher
