~Part 4~

Her thoughts were dragging her into darkness. Where she was alone, lonely and betrayed but still she wanted to fight her fate.

She wriggled to free herself from his grasp but he held her more tightly. Lightening flashed in the east and thunder rumbled a posthumous threat.

Leave me..! She uttered while struggling to get herself free.

Shh..! She heard him say.

Drink some water..! He placed bottle on her lips and made her drink some water. She was still unsure of his intentions as she gulped the water down her throat. He placed the bottle on side table and she was expecting him to leave her now but to her dismay he slid her pallo further.

Her breath got stuck in her throat as she tried to fight him again.

You are all wet..! You will catch cold. Let me dry you. His words brought a relief to her restless heart and he further slid her pallo as he started to dry her with towel.

She opened her eyes lazily and their eyes met. Her innocent eyes were shimmering with pain. But now it had one more thing that accompanied pain it was accusation. Her eyes were complaining.

You don't need to worry. I know my limits. His voice showed some emotions as he uttered those words.

Life is strange..! Life is unpredictable..! Sometimes you get deceived or disappointed by the people you trusted most in your life. And sometimes you are unable to trust anyone, then a stranger is there to rebuild ruins of that trust.

He was trying to hide his pain. He dried her up and laid her on the bed comfortably and got up from the bed.

There was some bond that was connecting them both since the time they met. No matter how hard they were trying to escape it was bringing them closer. Something was connecting them together. May be their fate or may be the pain that was common in both.

He took off his shirt and now he was only clad in black tank vest. He went towards the fireplace to light the fire.

He lit one match and his eyes went towards geet who was lying on the bed. Thunder growled a deep rumbling warning.

I am unable to forget pain in her eyes since I met her. Her painful words in that diary were still lingering in my mind, the way she shed those tears helplessly one day back and the way she tried to hide are adding to my grief.

Fire caught his finger giving him slight burn. He sighed and his gaze strolled towards the window where rain was still falling at a steady rate.

I never thought my life would take such a turn where pain will absorb me to such an extent that this fire would be soothing and the rain would seem to be way harsher than the fire.

Geet got up in the morning and found herself in that unknown place. Last night events zoomed in her mind. Her eyes went to Maan who was sitting at the couch and was awake.

I know what you are thinking geet..! You will blame me for the thing I have not done. And I don't know how I would make you believe that nothing happened between us. He thought.

Maan..! She got up from the bed and maan was ready to hear worst accusation.

I... she paused and looked away.

I am sorry and thank you. Her words shocked him.

Sorry..? Thank you..? He asked in disbelief

Yeah sorry for causing you so much trouble and thank you for not taking advantage of me when you could have done worst with me.

He couldn't take her words anymore.

I don't deserve these words geet. Not anymore..! He told her

You are wrong..! You deserve much more than these simple words for what you did for me last night.

Please stop it..! He panted.

Anything but not these words..!!!!!!!!!

But I don't know any other words.

May be words are not needed anymore. He looked at her and maybe he was right their silence and pain was sufficient and there was not any room for words.

Why there is so much pain in your eyes..? She asked him because this pain has been haunting her too.

Because I deserve each bit of it..! I never realized until now that even this pain is not right punishment for me.

Silence prevailed in the room for few minutes.

Let's go. I will leave you. He asked her and she quietly followed him.

Geet fished her purse for the keys of her apartment. She opened the door and was about to walk towards her room when she heard pooja giggling and then a male voice followed it.

She headed towards the kitchen and found pooja in Rishi's embrace while he was kissing her neck.

Pooja's eyes fell on geet and they both parted instantly.

Di. I am sorry. Pooja said and ran from there and geet looked at mortified Rishi questioningly.

Oh God..! Why always me..? This was the first time I did it and got caught. He closed his eyes and made a cute face.

Rishi what is all this..? geet fumed

Rishi waited for geet to pounce on him. he could clearly imagine geet dramatically accusing him for breaking her trust and stabbing at her back in her absence and flirting with her sister.

Oh God..! I love pooja but geet would never believe me.

I love her..!

I love her geet.. Rishi said breathlessly and waited for a tight slap from geet.

When the much waited slap didn't reach his cheek he opened his eyes slowly and found geet looking at him intently.

Rishi..! If this is another time pass affair for you, then let me tell you pooja is my responsibility and I would kill you barehanded if you tried to break her heart. Geet tried to stifle her laugh.

I love her Geet and I want to marry her. I wanted to talk to you but I was waiting for the right time.

Well then I am giving you the right time. Geet finally smiled relieving him.

Geet you are such a sweet heart. Rishi hugged her in excitement.

I will ask my parents to meet beeje and fix everything soon. I can't wait anymore. Rishi beamed

Rishi turned to leave but then halted for a moment.

You know geet. You smiled first time in six month apart from your forceful smiles that you gave in business parties. Rishi told her seriously and left from there leaving her

I smiled..? she asked herself.

How can I do that when I know I would get nothing but despair..?

Maan Singh Khurana is affecting me from the time I met him. He made me shed those unshed tears. He brought smile on my lips.

This very loneness is part of my life now. I can't share my pain with anyone.
