~PART 13~

"mrk-1 (Durga)

Geet was getting ready in the early morning for visiting the gurudwara with annie as a token of thanks for dadima's health . she hurridly came down the stairs only to see dadima all ready sitting with annie chatting .

Geet : dadima aap yaha kya kar rahe hai ???

Dadima shook her head knowing what was about to come : Geet Beta , I am also coming with you .

Geet was concerned : per dadima aapki tabiyat teek nahi hai.. please aap rest kijiye..

Dadima : Geet Beta.. Hum bilkul teek hai.. waise bhi its been a long time I had visited gurudwara.. when annie told me that you both are going early morning , I can't stop myself..

Annie : Geet bhabhi let dadima also come with us. we are there naa, we will look after.

Geet : teek hai dadi..

Then Geet called nakul and said : bhaiya , please inform Maan that dadi is with us.

Nakul : ji

With that they sat in the car and reached there early than usual as there was no traffic .

They went inside and offered the prayings . dadima was more than happy as she got a chance to visit there after a long time . annie was whole time with dadi while geet went and tied the sacred thread . they sat there for sometime before starting their journey back home . when they were about to leave , people started coming in large number and the place got more crowdy forcing dadi , annie and geet to separate . geet tried locating them but could not do so as she was walking down the steps . suddenly she missed a step and found herself falling down .

Dadi and annie who reached down by that time saw geet rolling down the steps . they stood horrified and shrieked " Geeet.." . they ran towards her only to find her fainted in with blood oozing out of her head . dadima kept her head in her lap and patter her cheeks .

Dadima cried : geet ..geet' anke kholo .. kya huwa tumhe .. geeet.. open your eyes beta ..

Annie : dadi , lets take bhabhi to hospital .

She looked at the driver and asked him to help them putting geet in the car . the driver drove at high speed and reached the near by hospital . the nurse and ward boy helped them and took geet to the emergency ward . dadi stayed outside the room and annie went to the reception giving them the necessary informations .

Contrary to the situation maan was sitting in the conference room attending a meeting with the foreign delegates and he seemed to be so engrossed in it that he failed to realise the flashing of light in his mobile . annie was calling him continuously but none noticed it as it was kept in the silent mode .

she then remembered Vicky and immediately called him and explained him the situation . vicky told her not to worry and he would be there soon . he tried to get maan on line but he also could not succeed in getting him online .

On getting no other way , he called the office reception and asked them to connect maan stating it to be an emergency one . when the receptionist informed maan about the call , he became worried thinking what it might be about. It was only then he noticed the number of missed calls in his mobile . he immediately answered the call and vicky informed him about geets accident and asked him to come to the City hospital. Everyone in the room looking at him concerned seeing his shocked expression . It looked like he had lost the ability to speak . one of them gently shook him : Mr. Khurana is everything okay ???

Maan looked at him for a minute and said : I had to leave now . My wife had an accident..

That was the only thing he said before running from the room leaving everyone baffled . he dint even wait for the driver to come and start . instead he himself drove the car rashly towards the hospital . through out the drive he remembered the first time he saw her .. her midnight visit , challenging him before their marriage , her answering back to annie's friends , taking care of dadima , he asking her to be his friend , their shopping , everything '.. he found a true friend and companion in her .. but the fate ??? will it separate her from him ??? ll it take her away from his life ???

Amidst of these thinkings , he somehow reached the hospital and ran to the reception . On knowing the room no , he reached there within seconds .he could see annie and dadima sitting there and crying helplessly .vicky was seen standing near the ICU door.. annie was the first one to notice him . she just hugged him tight crying her eyes out .

Annie : bhai... bhabhi '

Maan forced himself to answer while his eyes were fixed on the ICU room : kuch nahi hoga Geet ko.. kuch bhi nahi.. I won't let anything happen to Geet..

He came out of the hug and stood at the door and watched . he could see nothing but the screens and some nurses busy assisting the doctors there in .Vicky kept his hands on his shoulder and consoled him.

His mind was totally blank and could not think anything . He just went and sat beside dadima and closed his eyes . he opened his eyes when he felt someone wiping his tears that had flown unknown to him . he turned and looked at his dadi with tears in his eyes . she gestured him not to cry and be strong .

After what seemed to be an hour , doctor came out and maan rushed to him .

Maan : doctor , how is Geet ?? is she alright ???

Doctor : may I know wats your relation with the patient ?

Maan : Dr I am her husband Maan Sigh Khurana .

Doctor : Mr. Khurana , your wife is out of critical condition now . the wound is not deep . but its necessary to be in observation for a day . we can discharge tomorrow .

Maan felt his life coming back : thank you so much doctor . can I see her now ???

Doctor : sure Mr. Khurana you can see her after she is shifted to the private ward . .she is under sedatives . so she ll sleeping all through the night . do come to my cabin for getting the prescription .

Maan : yeah.

Maan gestured vicky to be with dadi and annie while he gets the prescription . when he came back , he found out that geet had been shifted to the ward and only one person at a time could visit . dadi told him to go first and they would wait outside. . he nooded and went inside
