Part 8

Geet got up early in the morning. All the events of yesterday played in her head. It was her mooh dikhayi ki rasam. All the love that was showered on her, which she never got in her life before. Dadi was the only one in the entire house she could talk to. She rubbed her eyes which still felt heavy due to lack of sleep. She turned to see maan sleeping on the other side of the bed. Almost occupying two thirds of the bed. She murmured: Dekh loongi aapko dusht danav

She went to the portrait of her babaji and prayed for the well being of her family. Maan had woken up by then and headed to the bathroom. He collided with geet who herself was on the way to the bathroom.

Geet said: Ouch. Cant u see and walk. God has given u such big eyes make use of them for seeing instead of glaring all the time.

Maan says: Geet Cant u see and walk. You too have eyes,cant u see such a big person stand in front of you. Why do you always bump into me.

Geet: I should say that considering that you don't leave a single chance to touch me.

Maan replied: Why will I crave to touch you. I am Maan Singh Khurana I can get any girl I want.

Geet: I am not any girl Maan Singh Khurana, you cant get me. Maan Singh Khurana can get any girl he wants but not his wife. What a pity.

Geet looks up to her babaji and complains: itna arrogance yeh kahan se lathe hai babaji. Itna hawa mein udte hai ki. Inhe toh neeche zameen par lana hi hoga. Haina.

Maan got frustrated and shouted: if your talks with babaji are done can I use MY bathroom, I am getting late for office.

I am also getting late, dadi is waiting for me downstairs.Saying so geet barged into the bathroom and locked the door before maan could do anything.

Maan was so angry at her guts to close the door at his face that he locked her in the bathroom saying:Lets see how you go down for the rasam. He went to use Vickys bathroom as he was still sleeping

Meanwhile dadi tells ani to bring geet down for the meetha bananeki rasam. It was a tradition in the Khurana family that the new bride would prepare a sweet dish after her wedding.

Ani walks knocks and enters maan's room only to find it empty. As she was about to leave she heard geet knock on the door saying Koi hai, Please darwaza kholo.

Ani opened the door and asked Geet: Bhabhi aap lock kaise ho gaye the.

Geet murmured: Yeh sab us dusht raavan ne kiya hai. I will not leave him he will pay for this.

Ani threw her a confused look trying to understand what geet was muttering under her breath. Geet then told her: there seems to be a problem in the door. It gets jammed sometimes.

Ani told her that dadi was waiting for them in the kitchen.

Dadi explained geet everything and showed her all the ingredients to make Kheer. Meanwhile Maan walked into the kitchen to drink water. He saw geet cooking all engrossed in making food. He asked her: What are you doing here?

Geet told: You really need to get your eyes checked, cant u see I am cooking.

Maan: that is all fine but who will eat the tasteless food that you will make. I am sure all will get food poisoning. He laughed at his comment and made his way out of the kitchen.

Geet was very angry at maan's remarks and said: maan You will not only eat but also praise this dish, though you wont like it. She looked up at her babaji and winked as she got a plan.

All the members of the family sat down to eat the dish that the Bahu made for the first time. All were excited except maan, he seemed least interested. Geet got the dish in small bowls for each. Maans bowl she kept the closest to her and served the rest to the family members. She had made a very special Kheer just for her husband. She served him the bowl she had got specially for him. He refused to eat but dadi made him try it.

Dadi: geet bete this kheer is delicious. I have never eaten such a sweet dish ever.

Geet was happy listening to the praise. Vicky and ani also complimented. Hearing that the dish was indeed tasty maan took a spoon and put it in his mouth. He was shocked to taste as it was full of salt. Maan wondered:How come dadi ani and vicky praised such a bad dish. He looked at geet who had a wide smile plastered on her face. She was so happy that she had given him back for calling her food tasteless. Maan was helpless he couldn't tell anyone that the dish was full of salt but then an idea struck him. He asked dadi if he could share it with Geet as the rasam is that thecouple have the dish together. Geet was shocked at the turn of events. Now she had to taste a dose of her salty dish. Maan was so happy to make her suffer. Both took turns and finished the salty kheer. Dadi blessed both of them saying Kisi I nazar na lage.

Geet decided that he will pay back heavily for messing with Geet handa..oops Khurana she corrected her self.

Maan chuckled seeing her in this state. It was fun to see geet lose. He knew he has to be very careful now that geet is going to work on her new plan.

Meanwhile Ani and vicly were busy talking to each other.

Vicky: Ani bhabhi ko pooch na unka favorite holiday destination, so we can gift them a honeymoon package.

Ani: What if bhai doesn't like it, he will kill me with his eyes.

Vicky: Don't worry, he will not say anything in front of Dadi.

Ani: Theek hai.

Saying so she moved to face geet and asked her, Bhabhi have you decided where you want to go for honeymoon.

Geet almost chocked on her food when ani asked this question. Maan was equally shocked as he had not seen this coming. Maan thought: I cant bear to see her for few hours at KM now I will have to see her not so pretty face 24x7. I will have to think of some way out.

Geet was almost lost after ani's question, she thought : I cant stay with him in the same house when all are there with me. How will I manage when no one is around. He will not leave a single chance to harass me. Babaji meher karna

Not getting any reply from geet, dadi said: I think you should go to darjeeling, it's a very nice place you both will love it. Geet smiled weakly as she couldn't hurt dadi. Dadi was more than excited about this trip. She knew considering the circumstances of the wedding, this trip will help them know each other better. She got up from the dining table and headed to make arrangement for the honey moon. Vicky and ani hi-fi each other to see their plan succeed.

Geet and maan looked blankly at each other trying to understand if there was a way out of this mess created by their family.
