A Tribute to LVRAAZ

At the end of this fabulous year, I cannot help but think the beginning. The Hum tum, ek kamre main bandh ho trailer had been on continuously and I had become fed up of it – but little did I know how addicted I would get.

Have just finished watching one f the last episodes I'll ever see of Geet. It had a hint of the flavour I fell in love with, and I became nostalgic about the fabulous ride the show has taken us through.

I had never thought that after DMG, I would ever fall for a show. But a NIssar Parvez creation gets me hooked, time and again. There were the days when my parents would throw their hands up in despair when they saw me hooked on to Geet, whether it was on the phone or the comp. That expression evolved to one of patient distaste when they saw it become a daily routine and my late nights spent to chat with the Idiots in all their glory. Finally, I think we've come to today – when I sit here and type this, while my entire family sits in front of the television, watching Geet.

I cannot forget how well Geet carried me through my stress, made me feel unburdened and get me through a new job. I would hum Mahii through my work, and then stop myself from singing it aloud. A smile would light my face unconsciously as I would think of Adi's laugh, or Dhrashti's latest antics offscreen. I would laugh at the thought of coming home and discussing Geet with the many new friends I had made.

Every new phase of Geet got me more and more involved in the different aspects of their life and life online in the Geet-verse. From 'Maneet', to Maan's fatherly hugs. (:P), to the prevention of bashing of the characters, to admiring the outfits and stressing what and how Dhrashti looked good, all the way to laughing along with Praneet's weird rendition of a quirky laugh ( that guy needs recognition man)...to remembering to make a post on how much I loved him for that laugh.

I remember falling in love with mundane songs I had never paid attention to before. Pee Loon – it turned my world upside down after Maneet grew in love, in it. Kurbaan toh main ho gayi thi – I still listen to it and go mad, get tears in my eyes. I cannot believe I still get goosebumps on watching them go Maahi Maahi.

Never had a mother to be looked as gorgeous as Geet in her Sheila, and never had any villain incited so much anger as Beizaad's portrayal of Brij. Never had I adored an onscreen Grandma, as much as I adored ANjuji. Their interviews, snippets of their life and the things they admired, made my day. It created memories for me.

Never has any onscreen brother (who never made an appearance apart from a lone photograph) had so much popularity. Vicky has appeared in 99% of the Maneet fan fictions, mine included. I cannot believe the characters he's played – the CVS could've made a whole new love story out of his role.

But it doesn't stop there...the most valuable thing I cherish are the friends I made...the amazing ppl I met online. You know who you are. I have to thank Geet for that. It was indeed a gift.

I can write on and on and bore one and all...but I gotta leave. I hate goodbyes – and Geet is something I'll never be able to say goodbye to. So adios, mios amigos.
