Episode Take
I just want to go Maaneet scene by Maaneet scene today in my analysis after saying this. Lucky and Preeto were far more tolerable than Nando. I realise that she casts her shadow over everything and everyone and I actually laughed at Ahwaan more than once today, like when he got all shy when Preeto asked what can you do for me? It reminded me of their song sequence in A'sar. But I have to say, I liked the old Preeto much better and her chemistry with Lucky, well it existed which is more than I can say for the current scenario. Other than that ONE comment about size which was inappropriate and unnecessary, their scenes were of the filler variety, tolerable and not entirely infuriating. I guess it just goes to show how much of a bummer Nano really is.
NOW, on to more important matters.
We know that a kiss cannot be shown on Indian TV so easily and casually but there are many many ways to get around this without constantly interrupting the couple. A fade out would have been great, or like Jyo mentioned in her take, a camera angle would have been amazing, given that we basically already got the angle, they just had to freeze there for a few more minutes to make it look like they were kissing. I wouldn't even have minded the vo hain zara amoeba if it was slightly more aesthetically done.
The soup scene continued was very sweet and I didn't really mind the way that was cut short. It was like Geet was saying let's focus on the scalding soup in my hand please, which was really very sensible of her. I also loved the hug that followed as it is probably the closest MSK and Geet are going to get in their own bed. 🤣 No but seriously, it was very sweet and they looked so comfy and peaceful.
The sponge bath itself was ok, nothing we haven't seen before but I liked the nok jhok that went. Although it was also nothing new really, it was like a familiar thing that we have missed for the past few weeks and it was nice to see it.
Frankly, the scene with her getting ready in front of the mirror, I laughed because it seemed so random. I was like what on earth is she getting ready for? In retrospect, after realising that they were going to skip the ten day recovery period, I wish they had shown her in a different outfit in that scene so it would have indicated the passage of time better and not seemed so strange. BUT the way he was looking at her! HAYE! ☺️ And then when they almost kissed again (this is where they were basically doing a camera angle kiss) and Preeto interrupted I was like 😡 at first but Preeto's reaction and then the expression on Maan's face when he goes to hit her were so genuinely funny that I didn't feel so bad about the missed kiss. It's been a while since I genuinely laughed out loud at GHSP so I actually liked that moment just the way it was.
Aww! And the last scene was my favourite! This must be the fastest time has ever passed on the show, considering the 10-day Teej and the 10-month no-show pregnancy. 😆 I wondered for a second how Maan's wound was healed in a day but was glad for that bit of logic. We can also assume that they have spent some peaceful time together now. He brought her tea in bed! HOW an I ever supposed to fall in love with a real person??!! HOW!! 🥺
I loved the significance of the tea and coffee. It showed that neither of them is trying to compensate for the other anymore. They have accepted their differences and are ready to face things together with full knowledge that they might not always think the SAME but they have to think TOGETHER. I really hope this is foreshadowing of what is to come!
And the PRECAP!!! ADI!!! 😃 I am so glad his banishment was restricted to one episode. And I realised how much it is my discomfort with the whole Dev-forgiveness issue and Nando's insufferable presence that rubbed off on poor Lucky and Preeto too because I found the precap quite adorable. Maan has always been a mentor figure to Lucky and I liked seeing that side of things, while also seeing Maan at work with Adi and Lucky.
All in all the Maaneet parts were beautiful and the other parts were actually watchable for a change so my verdict is that the more Dev and Nandini stay away from the picture the better it is for everybody.
