Lost
"I'm going for a walk" I said as I walked past my grandmother who stared at me with a frown on her face.
Daadima: "Who goes on a walk at this time? It's 9:00pm" she said, glancing at her watch which I had bought for her birthday. I ignored her comment and left the mansion, needing a break from work.
I marched off as far away from the mansion as I could without even taking a look back at it. I didn't want to be back there anytime soon. Every single thing in that house reminded me of my mother who had passed away just a few days ago.
As I walked, I didn't realize I had tears in my eyes. I had nobody left now apart from my dear old grandmother and if anything happened to her, I swear I would kill myself.
After 30 minutes of non-stop walking, a drop of water had landed on the back of my neck and then that drop turned into a waterfall of rain. Great. Even the weather had changed to match my mood. I was now soaking wet, my clothes clinging to me and feeling heavy on my body. I took a left turn and walked past the alleyway without looking. Loads of things happened in there that involved a man and a woman. Disgusting.
"HELP!"
I froze in my tracks, my heartbeat rate suddenly increasing. I turned around, scanning the isolated street. I sighed and continued walking.
"PLEASE, SOMEBODY!"
Oh God, that scream squeezed my heart. Whoever it was, she sounded so sad and helpless.
I turned around and walked back to the way I came from, stopping in front of the alleyway. My eyes widened as I watched the horrifying scene.
"Somebo-"
The girl tried to call out for help again, only to have her mouth covered by a hand while some other guy fumbled with the buttons on her top. She tried to squirm out of their hands and even managed to do so, but only for a second before some other guy grabbed hold of her top and pulled her back, ripping a chunk of it off in the process so a bit of her waist was exposed.
I clenched my jaw and stepped inside the alleyway. Three of the guys turned to look at me while the other two held the woman, one of them holding both her hands while the other guy covering her mouth. The girl looked at me, her eyes red. My eyes rested on a scratch on her neck which looked like it had been caused by somebody's nails.
"What are you doing here? Wanna join?" a guy said and smirked, showing his yellow teeth. The place stank of alcohol which nearly made me gag.
"Leave" I said
The three guys looked at me for three seconds before laughing, as if I said something remotely hilarious.
"That's all your gonna say? 'Leave'?"
I casually exposed a knife from my pocket and held it out for everybody to see. All five exchanged worried glances.
"Get your hands off the girl or i'll chop your filthy hands off" I threatened
The tallest and bulkiest of the guy signalled the two guys who were holding the girl to let her go. One of them removed his hand from her mouth while the other reluctantly let go of her hands. The girl slid down the wall, hiding her face in her knees.
All five silently left the alleyway as I stared at the tiny figure that sat on the ground. I knew I shouldn't go too near the girl. Should I just leave her here? No, that's just ridiculous. I couldn't do that. Should I sit down next to her? Should I try talking to her? Oh for God's sake.
I cleared my throat and looked at her, all my anger vanishing when she looked up at me with a frightened expression.
"I'm not going to hurt you" I said gently
I couldn't help but notice that she was one thing of beauty. Her big, swollen brown eyes stared in to mine. I could literally hear her gulp before she shakily stood up, hugging herself after the process. My eyes travelled to her bruised lips before taking in her ripped top. She was drenched in the rain and I noticed she was wearing indian earrings. Her left earring was missing, broken and smashed on the ground; long forgotten. She seemed to notice this and took the other earring off, throwing it away. If she brushed her hair, wore fresh clothes, and took a shower she would probably be the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
The sound of thunder broke me out of my trance, turning night into day for only a split second. The girl tensed, hugging herself even tighter.
"Come" I said, stepping out of the alleyway and waiting for her to follow me. She took little pigeon steps and followed me, keeping her distance. I took off my jacket and put it over her like a blanket. She widened her eyes and stiffened but slowly relaxed.
As I walked and she followed, the rain had finally stopped.
"Where do you live? I'll call for a car and drop you home" I said
"I-I don't know" she said in a tiny voice. She took the jacket off herself and then put it back on again, this time like a jacket. Her shaky hands fumbled with the buttons.
"Can I... Um..." I trailed off, pointing at the buttons. She removed her fingers from the buttons and let me button them up for her.
We started to walk again, this time our footsteps in sync. I was glad she had managed to relax around me. I didn't want her feeling uncomfortable.
"I was lost" she said and that was all she had to say for me to get the story. She was probably new to this city and lost her way home, and then THAT back there happened.
"Do you want to stay at my house for tonight?" I asked after a while of walking. She looked at me, horrified.
"No. Not in that way... I, oh God" I said, hitting my palm on my head.
"I live with my grandmother. She's very nice" I said, re-wording my sentence. The girl's face seemed to brighten up at the mention of my grandma.
"I don't want to cause problems"she said
"What's your name?" I asked
"Geet"
"Okay, Geet. You don't even know where you are do you? How are you going to find your way home? Which is why I think you should stay at my house for now"
Geet didn't say anything which I took as a yes. Finally, we had arrived at my mansion and I led her up the pathway.

I couldn't get the feel of those strangers hands off my body.
I wanted to die.
I felt filthy, impure, and foul.
The jacket smelt nice though, and calmed my nerves as I walked with the man who saved my life. I sneaked glances at him as we walked. His black hair was damp from the rain, and he had a nice build; as if he worked out. He was wearing formal clothes, so it looked like he worked.
Finally, a mansion had appeared in view which had nearly stole my breath away. It was beautiful and I wanted to know what it looked like inside.
"That's really beautiful" I said, pointing at the mansion. The man smiled.
"Wanna go inside?" he said and led me up the pathway. I froze in my steps, my eyes widening as I realized this was HIS mansion.
"Oh, this is your house. Oh God, I'm so dense" I said, walking up the pathway and watched as he opened the big doors and walked inside as if he ruled the place. Warmth engulfed me as I stepped inside. I was dazzled by the exterior already, and now I was mesmerized by the interior. Everything was lavish and luxurious.
"Maan, who is this?"
Maan.
An old lady was making her way downstairs. She walked up to us and frowned at the state I was in.
Maan: "I'll tell you later. Nakul!" he called out
Nakul: "Yes, sir" he appeared out of a room and stood in front of Maan, his head down low.
Maan: "Take this lady to a guest room. Now" he ordered as I stared at Maan who caught my gaze and nodded reassuringly.
