Is there a "secret" behind his behaviour? I thought it was all out in the open that he was psychotically in love with Geet and wanted to have her at all costs.

Well, Vikram clearly has a fantasy story built up in his head of which Geet is the princess. He really has no idea about the kind of person that Geet is in real life, she is just the face of the princess in his fairytale. Because this fantasy is more real in his mind, he thinks they are meant to be together in real life and the cruel world keeps tearing them apart.

To build such a fairytale, the person has to be so disturbed by their real life that they create an alternate world which they can escape to. My guess would be that Vikram had an oppressive, abusive parent who made his life hell so he had to construct this alternate reality. He also has no perception of right and wrong because of this upbringing or lack thereof, so whatever he wants is right and whatever stands in his way is wrong for him.

It also maybe made him feel empowered to think of himself rescuing Geet from her oppressive family, who physically abused her. The same way now, it empowers him to think of Maan as a challenging obstacle that separates him from Geet, one that he must defeat to claim his prize at the top of the tower. In his mind, by making Geet come to him, he has defeated MSK. So now he may expect Geet to behave exactly the way she does in his head, welcoming his advances and being hopelessly in love wit him as well. When she doesn't act like this it might really disturb and anger him and he might lash out.

I am scaring myself so I am going to stop now. 😕
